Resort cleanliness was okay, didnt spot too much litter or anything. Entertainment in resort was 80 per cent karaoke, never found any Greek nights at all in our 2 week stay. The beach was nice although if you sit too far back from the water (which I did),you will be asked to move because that is where the turtles supposedly lay their eggs. There are 'turtle patrollers' who stroll up and down the beach ensuring everyone follows the guidelines of the beach for instance you must not move the sunbeds that are already there, you must not build sandcastles too far back, you must not put up parasols too far back, etc etc. The beach itself was reasonably clean, again because of the turtles they cannot thoroughly clean it in case any nests are disturbed. As for aircraft noise, lets just say you can just about make out the faces of all incoming passengers on the planes, they fly so so low because the airport is a mere 5 mins from resort, you do get used to it though.

OK resort, typical greek. Loads of wonderful restraunts like mermaids and heavens kitchen.

We saw a Freddie Mercury lookalike in Sophies bar, he was so funny, the kids love Kalamaki.

We like quiet but this is too remote. It's a good hours walk to the beach and there are no paths. You take your life in your hands walking along the roads. Worse for those with kids as the drivers pretty dangerous.
If you stand on a chair you have a sea very... so thats nice.

The location of the hotel is 10 minutes from the airport which wasn't a problem as due to the loggerhead turtles that reside on Kalamaki beach of an evening there are restrictions on the times that airoplanes can fly.

The beach is only a 10 minute walk and it is absolutley beautiful and has a taverna which serves up a great greek salad. There are no water sports only pedlos so it is pretty tranquil, oh and the fresh fruit salad on sale along the beach is lovely too.

There are numerous restaurants along the main road and every restaurant we tried was wonderful and had an excellent choice, something there for all tastes. Our particular favourites were the italian, Hera (the beef stamnas is great) and a restaurant called Diaz which is on a side road behind the italian.

There are quite a few bars some are lively and others more chilled out. If you get out in time (between about 7pm and 8pm) you can sit in Cocunut Joes with a cocktail in hand and watch the sun go down which is very beautiful

Our holiday in Kalamaki was wonderful and today is our first day back and can say we are planning our return to Amaryllis Aparthotel, Kalimak already (severe holiday blues and not even got back to work yet).

We never sampled the entertainment in the hotel, but the nights we got home early enough people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It usually finished aroung 12pm and we were staying above it but it was never that loud that it interefered with us. The rest of the apartments are located in differant buildings so if you like to retire early and are a light sleeper request to be placed in blocks b,c or d, but as I say we never found it a problem.

The only thing that wasn't great was the airport on the way home which has very little seating and a lot of people crammed in, but I would not let this put you off as it is a small price to pay for such a wonderful holiday.

The resort was fairly clean apart from the rubbish bags being left out by the local cafes an restaurants which were often ripped open by the morning. The resort had a good sprinkling of entertainment mainly for families, aall the clubs are in Laganas which is a short taxi ride away, prob about 10 Euros. The beach was clean but narrow and we were chased from the back of the beach by the local nature police which were protecting where the turtles lay their eggs. Good places to eat, Milos greek restaurant, The Iguana Bar is a must, great welcome and good food!

The beach is beautiful, however I am not a big beach person so I do admit I only went once on my recent trip to Zante.

The Italian restaurant was gorgeous - me and my boyfriend went a good 3 or 4 times over our stay as we loved it!

One thing I noticed was that the resort seems to be alot quiter than the first time I visited, my only guess is that the party people hacec gone to Laganas now?!

The Fire Bar in a must! Me and my partner would go there every night and the staff were brilliant and really became friendly, they even got me making my own cocktails! You must visit there just to see them set the bar on fire!

Overall I loved my second visit to Zante, as not only was it where my boyfriend proposed to me but it was also where my baby was concieved! We are now booking a holiday there for October with 10 friends - only difference is this time I will have a 6 month old baby - but know we will still have a fab time!
