All restaurants are fine some better than others, but that depends on your own taste, we have met people who don't like Indian food, sorry why go to India!!!

The resort itself is very typical of Goa, plenty of shops and restaurants. Take the plunge and hire a moped, you will enjoy it so much, the roads re quite conjested with other bikes, so you can't go fast, so it is fairly safe. To call home, buy an Indian SIM card, £6 it's so cheap if your phone is unlocked. You can buy almost anything on the beach, the prices are really low if you haggle for long enough.

As with all Goa cleanliness of streets in not considered important and with all the tourist money entering the state this will need to improve to ensure we continue to visit. Pavements must be provided as the main road is now very busy and with buses and lorries I often feared for my safety during rush hour periods
Pletny of restaurants, bars and some offering entertainment. However whilst I viisted 13th Jan-4th Feb bars were being forced to cease music at 10.00pm. This must be changed to give holiday makers an opportunity of enjoying some entertainment after a meal. Failure to change this will stop holidaymakers returning
The beach was quiet at the Whispering Palms end and sellers were minimal

The resort isn’t very clean but didn’t expect it to be.
The entertainment in Candolim is mainly eating out. The beach is brilliant. Weather fantastic.
This place has a real charm about it. It was our first time in Goa so when we landed we were in for a shock.
Didn’t know what to expect and the airport is a bit daunting with everyone grabbing our bags. It’s worth paying them money rather than them keep hassling. The beggars get a bit much sometimes but if you take it in your stride you’ll be ok.
Have a sense of humour relax, and enjoy it. Its fantastic can’t wait to go back.

The beach was just wonderful. The beach shacks were good to sit at and watch the days pass by.Bono's beach shack is certainly worth a visit.... it's very clean, food delicious and amenities excellent.strongly recommend that people go on jungle book trip....Brill.
Also spent nights on deserted beach, well worth the experience. Crocodile hunt was excellent well worth the money. Recommend that you book a holiday in this resort early as hotels fill up very quickly.

Candolim and Calangute are both much of a muchness with regards to standards. It is India/Goa and to go over board about rating the cleanliness would be silly. If you go to Goa expecting clean streets and no litter in sight you are going to be greatly dissapointed, the beaches are kept clean though, both Candolim and Calangute beaches are very busy though and you should prepare yourself for the locals selling all sorts of things while you sun bathe. Try getting a taxi either further north to Aswem or some other more remote beaches if your looking for a quiter day in the sun.
We didnt find much in the way of entertainment although there are more and more bars every year. If you find yourself in Calangute pop into the Log Cabin and say hello to Babu, Raymond and Glen.
Either resort is a great base for exploring Goa and we would return in the future

candolim was good fun if a little mad on the roads with cars bikes and tuk tuks going in all directions, ther are lots of places to eat and drink and we didnt have a bad meal anywhere.the beach is long and golden and linned with beach shacks, we used bono's which had fantastic sea food and umbeleivable clean toilets, the water was warm with waves on the edge, but was nice for a swim.

so glad we stayed in candolim the people are so friendly the is a little bar that is situated right next to flloyds with a little store outside the size of the shorts at the bar are large and they are very cheap.
The lad that runs the little store outside is called Ravi and he is such a lovely lad, from the age of six he was a beach seller and has worked his way up and got a store its worth a look on his store as he doesn't hassle you.
guru jewlery shop is fantastic and the prices are as cheap as chips ( we brought our wedding rings and a large diamond ring for less than a cost of one ring in england) well worth a visit.
we had a fantastic taxi driver whos name was mangaldas but we gave him a british name of charlie he was brillant he was not only a taxi driver but a very good tour guide. we went to the flea market and before we got there he learnt us how to say no thank you in the local lingo. we had charlie everyday and we saved a fortune on the tour excursions doing it this way then going through the tour operator. i would highly recommended him if you are going there give him a call on telephone(landline not sure of dialling code) 2268079 mobile: 9822139071 is taxi number is ga-03t9200.
also a tip we learned why we was there was to buy an indian sim card from the elephant shop by guru jewllers you pay about 800 rupees and you get 300 rupees of free talk time and if you text home it only cost 5p instead of 50p on your own phone its that cheap we couldn't use all the credit.
yes it was the first we went and looking to go early apr 2007 cant wait....
