All restaurants are fine some better than others, but that depends on your own taste, we have met people who don't like Indian food, sorry why go to India!!!

Candolim is not as busy as Calangute but, still has plenty of shops, bars and plenty of places to eat.
I have stayed in Calungute, Baga and the South of Goa but, always return to Candolim!

Candolim is the quitest of the three rsorts in the area. (the otheres being Baga and Calangute).
Cleanliness is not something that you equate with Goa, as there lots of litter and rubbish lying around, but it does have an aura of "quaintness" about it.
Entertainment in the resort is either hotel based or in the restaurants, consisting of vocal duos etc or artistes that sing and play guitar with backing tapes etc. Some of these are very good but the majority are only adequate.
The beach is made up of nice sands with several beach shacks serving good cheap food and drinks with plentifull free sunbeds.
accesing the sea this year seemd harder with the sand sloping very steeply into the water, which caused some problems getting back out. Possibly this is something to do with the derelict ship just off the beach.
As is usual in Goa you are plagued with sellers on the beach, but a ploite firm no (repeated several times ) is usually enough to make them go away, for at least 20 mins!
The above may read as if I am talking down candolim, but is just intended to give a first timer a fair idea of what toi expect, Candolim is not the Costa Brava, and if you are prepared to accept some compromises you will enjoy it there

Cleanliness nothing I didn't expect, not too much different to some resorts in Greece and Turkey. Lots of entertainment to suit all tastes from restaurants to clubs.
Beach in Candolim was very good and clean, didn't notice any dog mess or much rubbish on the beaches only that big eyesore of a ship that spoils the view and sunset at that area of the beach, we used ganeshes shack for sunbeds and food good value and very kind.
We would stay in Candolim again but I think only to use as a base.

The evening entertainment was very basic and to be honest we would have preferred to have none so that we could hear each other at the table.
The beach was clean and we saw no sign of stray dogs. However the strong undercurrents made it unsuitable for swimming.
The resort was fairly quiet but that is how we like it and we did not get pestered too much and the taxi drivers are the best people to go with sightseeing rather than an organised tour.
We would visit this resort again but in a much superior hotel.

Candolim. Lots of places to eat. Best are Floyds (both). The Mermaid. Mapusa market is good for bargains - there are some fish stalls, but lots more.

The beach was great but the sellers were a bit of a pain but you have got to put up with that when you are in India.I am 10 years old and this my firt vist to Goa and i loved it!!!!!The food is brilliant and i reccomend Bon Sucsesso and Cactus Shepereds Pie.The people of Goa are very friendly and it was an expearance to see them.I will definitly come back to Goa soon.

Candolim is a great resort with lots of great places to eat. The Mango Grove is a good meeting place and offers a wide variety of food. The beach is clean and there are some fantastic beach shacks. Its well worth a walk down to the calangute end to the Cafe Roma beach shack, great people and excellent food. In Calangute you must visit 999 curries and kebabs the food is the best I have ever tasted and you will certainly visit more than once.
