We found Candolim much cleaner than expected and had no tummy upsets, sickness etc even though we were there for four weeks.
All the Meals we had were very good, Goan, Indian and European food.
The beach at the end towards the fort was fine, not too many hawkers although the sea could be a bit rough at times.
Monicas beach shack was excellent we left out towels there and every day they were on the bed waiting for our arrival.
Taxis cheap and easy wouldnt think about hiring a scooter.
Only one thing we wouldnt do again and that was the Wednesday market, got there at 9.00am and left at 9.30am.
Johns Tours very good.
Cecilas, Flambees, Floyds Hut, Inferno, Mermaid to name but a few great restaurants

This is Candolim and India, and as cleanliness goes it is OK. Not much entertainment here but the weather is the thing.
Beach was very clean no Needles in the sand as we find in Spain. I am going back and the girls with me.

We love Candolim have been twice already and going back again for 4 weeks this year.
Stayed in Valentines Retreat last year and loved it. the staff are very friendly and nothings to much trouble for them.
Valentines retreat is just of the main road which runs through Candolim which is nice and quiet, but 5 mins walk and youve got all the shops and the beach.
The beach is great, miles of golden sand plenty of shacks (which serve brilliant food) and sunbeds to choose from. can be a bit of a culture shock when you get there (cows on the beach and roaming around freely), but you soon fall in love with the place.

Candolim. Its a great place for families, couples and singles. Everyone is friendly, entertaining and welcoming. I have a few favourite places to eat and drink, but to be honest everywhere is good to visit and go. I would higly recommend taking a wednesday night out and making your way to the night club in the sky. Its full of people from all age ranges and you will have a great night. Hightly recomd Candolim.

The Resort is clean and very Quiet. there are no clubs or in house entertainment. The beach next to it, is the best in North Goa.

The resort has everything noisy bits especially at xmas and new year but it is also a quiet place if you stay up the summerville end another Ps Joseph who has worked at Almas across from the summerville has expired Dec 2006 (their expression not mine)

First time in Goa and we could not have picked a better resort. The beach is fantasic, Meals are the best value you will find anyware. Even the beach shacks produce good food. Most eating places have entertainment on, Try Sweet Chill Peppers eating house and see the fire eaters(thats not the vindaloo by the way) Hire a taxi for the day and see the sites it will only cost you about £10 for the full day. Go to the markets on a Wednesday and Friday £2 in a taxi and he will wait for you.We loved it and I can't wait to go back. one last thing, The local poeple are fantastic but do not have much money so spend abit here and there in local shops and bars. It's than giving it to the big hotels and much cheaper. Have a fantastic time in Candolim1 WE DID.

It was our second trip to Goa, first one was to Arpora. I enjoyed Candolim better as there were plenty of choice of restaurants and shopping. The beach was not quite as crowded as the Baga/Arpora Beach and has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday.
