The food is fine if you are open to try new things, however there are familiar foods to the English. The staff is polite and there to answer any questions or to help with any problems which may occur.
For the times which i have been there nothing has ever gone wrong, there are a few close shops just outside the hotel which includes cash machines and a pharmacy.
The entertainment is directed towards the whole of the hotel and there is a new show each night, these include musical, comedy and a morocco night every Friday with camels, traditional dancing ect...

Food ok no one in our family suffered from ali belly! the pancakes with honey for breakfast are no good for your waistline!
Hotel situated about 5 minutes from beach. To get around you can go in the petit taxis which are orange and very cheap.
The staff cannot do enough for you and did not treat us any different from the French.
I would go back again definately.
The hotel is no longer owned by the Occidental chain, Ithink it is the Sahara Groupe hotels who actually own it now and are doing renovations as we speak.

I am bitterly disappointed with both the hotel and First Choice.
Hotel Cleanliness - In our room, I found okay - it was cleaned everyday and can say that I found no reason to fault the maid. Although, cleanliness in the other areas such as poolside and the buffet were definitely an issue.
Sunbeds were filthy, tables were sticky and pools were dirty.
Hotel Food - Totally outrageous and completely unacceptable! This was the area that had me raging every night! I am diabetic (and as you can imagine I have certain dietary requirements) . However the hotel neglects the fact that perhaps guests would like to know what they are actually eating. In my two week stay I seen very little food labelled (not to mention whether they contained nuts, dairy products, sugars etc )in the buffet restaurant. And was not told at all what would be served at any of the a la carte restaurants. So for the past 2 weeks I have ate nothing but salad, fruit and brown bread. - I have to say First Choice were told when booking the holiday of dietary requirements and assured me that these would be met. (ha!)
Service within most of the restaurants was okay - however I agree that most waiters etc did prefer the French.
I think in the buffet restaurant a better system regarding queueing for food desperately needs to be adopted. People were knocking into others, some were queue jumping and once you'd got your food, you had to battle for a table .
Location of the hotel was okay, although I don't think they should advertise "sea view balconies" when most balconies weren't what most holiday makers would regards as "sea views " .
Hotel Staff - I found the hotel staff slightly rude (in particular hotel waiters - who thought it would be funny to shout provocative comments at guests).
However the "animation team" cannot be faulted at all - I thought, as far as friendliness towards the guests and getting to know them (particularly Mimo and Ossamman) they were definitely 5*!!
Entertainment - Not really my thing, however again the animation team were excellent and put on some fun and professional shows including Aladdin and the Lion King!
Facilities - myself and my boyfriend were very much looking forward to using the gym facilities in the hotel. However we arrived to find that the gym had shut down along with a few other facilities (Oasis Restauran , Peoples bar and also the vegetarian Restaurant)- We were bitterly disappointed and annoyed that First Choice had not warned of this!
Hotel Maintenance - Ridiculous! On arrival and on the way to finding our room we seen a man who had cut his foot (quite badly) on some loose tiles at the bottom of the pool - that was our first day - when we left 2 weeks later the tiles still had not been fixed - and there were no warning signs around the area. (In which children were swimming around as well)
First Choice - again totally unacceptable. We could never get hold of any one of our three reps and resulted in calling the "help" line on the issue of the food labelling. Which did no good at all. When we did see a rep - she showed no interest what so ever and really didn't care, as she was off duty. Even though at the time I was distraught, crying and upset over the fact that I couldn't eat properly.
Other issues that come to mind are the fact that First Choice assured me (in writing) that there would be a fridge in the rooms (as anyone who has to take any kind of regular medication knows, keeping them stored correctly and at the right temperature is vital!) and that there was a doctor or medical facilities on site. There wasn't either of them - I had to result in keeping medication in a sink of cold water.
There are alot more issues I have with the hotel and have come back from my holiday feeling more tired and more stressed than I did going there.
I would advise anyones going there (and particularly anyone going with First Choice) to reconsider!

We arrived and didn't have any problem checking in. We were taken to our room but it was on the ground floor and the doors were not that secure.
We asked the FC rep to be moved and it was not a problem. The rooms are basic but clean. The maid did a great job and deserved her 100 dirham at the end of the week. The hotel at full capacity is 1500 rooms, this causes a lots of problems in the dining hall.
The French are the most rudest people I have ever come across, a week was all I could put up with. The food was fine, the bookable restaurant were interesting!! Chinese, don't bother, Sushi was good if you like that kind of thing, we did. Moroccan was very good. Pizza...if you like fried egg and turkey....???
The staff were OK, reception were rude and their English not so hot, the last day was terrible, for 300 dirham (18 quid) keep your room on. The room they provide if you don't is a fully working sauna!!!
The animation team were the worst ever. Make sure you don't get involved with any of their stupid games, they don't pre-warn you that you will get soaked and ruin your

The staff at this hotel were the best people I have ever met, they are just so friendly!
Entertainment was so funny and the animation team tried really hard to get you involved, I nearly got thrown in the pool by two fit blokes, but I struggled, so they put me down. That was fun.
I miss them all so much and girls, be warned they do take a shine to young blonde people, which personally I don't mind, I love all that attention.

The reception staff were not helpful. We got to our room and could not believe the view. The roof of the main restraunt was a buliding site. To make it worse we discovered that, because it was 'Ramadan and work was being carried out into the early hours of the morning. Other building 'refurbishment' had closed, the main 'Oasis' restraunt, the gym, main disco and the Manderin Resteraunt was also effected. We spoke to our English rep who was far from helpful. However we spoke to the Moroccan Rep they emply and he moved us and asked us to officially raise a complaint. Which we did.
We went on the excursion to Merreckech, which was delightful altough it is a 4/5 hour coach trip. We arrived back to the Hotel at 09.25pm to be told that the food halls were closed and no provision had beem made for us to eat, but at 10.30pm we could have pizza. (Not good if you happen to be diabetic).
The main pool had tiles missing causing one young man to have to go to hospital and be on crutches for the remainder of his stay. Tennis courts were being resurfaced and the mini golf is in need of repair (only 15 playable and 18th has disappeared).
Food is basic although the ommlette man is very good.
This is not the first North African country we have visited and was disappointed by the so called local cuisine at the hotel. As for all inclusive. I have never had to pay for ice cream or crepes. Nor have I seen wrist bands taken off at 12.00noon and customers have to pay for drinks. Although a food voucher is given for those who required them.
I must, however, end on a congratulations to the majority of the staff, Animators work very hard and long hours. According to First Choices answer to my complaints. There is nothing wrong with this hotel!! I'll leave for you to decide.

The next day wee were quite surprised to see how big the complex was, food was alright not michelin star quality but plenty of choice.
The staff never stopped and we never hardly saw the kids they were off with the animation team or in one of the pools overall the holiday was great and we would go back I have stopped reading these reviews now because there always some one moaning about it.
