The resort had everything in close proximity, not too far for a visit to Hippy Market on Wednesday. Beach had quite a few stinging jelly fish, short walk along coast brings you to a cleaner beach.
Would visit again.

Es Cana is a good resort if you have young children, it is clean and there is plenty for kids to do. It is not as crowded or built up as some other resorts on the island but is within easy reach by bus of the bigger resorts - buses are cheap and frequent. There are also various ferries for a more leisurly trip to some of the other resorts. The hippy market on Wednesdays is a popular attraction but it does get extremely crowded.

We first visited Es Cana in 1988 at which time it was a lovely clean kind of quiet beach resort with a little going on if you wanted it. Now it is noisey dirty and the beach is absolutely filfthy. There must have been a million cigarette butts on the beach. There are also jelly fish no doubt enticed in by the amount of sewage in the water. In 1988 the beach was regularly cleaned by beach tractors in the night but no more ! The whole resort has a tacky feel to it no class whatsoever. The people on the other hand are all still as friendly as ever and loved our little grand daughter she had lots of attention (and lollies) wherever we went. I would recommend LaJacaranda for lunch but not if you want a high chair because the staff are too lazy to get one for you. Food is good though but slightly more expensive than elsewhere. The Italian on the left hand side going out of the resort was really nice and the staff very friendly. The Chinese on the right hand side seems to be run by one chinese girl on her own and therefore the service was rubbish and the food was not that great either. We also waited 20 mins before we even got a drink. La Perla opposite the small funfair is nice quite authentic spainish food if you ask for it. Staff exceptionally pleasant. All in all nice people shame about the surroundings. We will be heading back to Menorca next time as more family orientated and cleaner !!!

We had a great holiday in Es canar ... the location was fantastic and is the were great bars in the town to go to probably the best were Bulls Head and Charlies (Although the gay barman there - an english guy called jason is a bit of a put off - not because he's gay because he keeps hitting on the male customers - my wife thought it was very funny though !!!)
The beach is nice .... although the main feature is the bars along the beach ..... great food and great service
I would recommend the trip to formentera from the es canar port - its a cracking trip and if you're looking for a tan you'll definately pick one up over there - it 27 euro for the day trip - well worth it !!!

the resort itself is great for a family hoilday.the beach was lovely but i felt it was'nt looked after by the hoilday makers, ie.ciggie butts everywere, ice cream papers.etc it was very sad, it was like being at home not in the med. lots of seaweed floating around aswell.but overall a lovely place to visit, and it would'nt put me off going again.

Es cana is a clean pleasant resort with a nice curved sandy beach however there are limited shops and bars to sustain a 2 week holiday. We resorted to days out by taxi to ibiza town and san antonio.

Tip go to the beach at cala nova, its stunning. Watch out for yellow flags, it means there are jelly fish about so stay out of the water, i didn't know and got stung 3 times. Happy holidays

Very disappointed in Charlie's this year, must have been sold as the so called entertainment was abysmal and you couldn't get served a drink for love nor money. The bars were great and alot of the staff we have met in previous years were still there which made it extra special for us to see our friends again. Very disappointed with the beach this year, a few windy days left alot of weed washed up over night, but this wasn't being cleared properly and the smell was awful. I really feel authorities in Ibiza need to keep this beach clean and spotless everyday as this is what brings in tourisim, we also had a plague of jellyfish and there were thousands of them. A net needs to be put around the swimming areas to stop them coming in and so allowing tourists to swim in the sea without fear of getting stung. These things can sway alot of peoples decisions as to where they go on holiday, and I feel Ibiza really needs to think about this as this is not the first time they have had these problems.
