the rooms were very spacious alot better than i expected.
The pool was shared by 3 hotel blocks. It was a decent size but was shallow. it had no deep end which is good for children but would have been better if there was a deeper section.
I was up at 6:45 to reserve sunbeds. The latest i would recommend to go down would be 7am.
We were self catering and although the hotel did serve food we never tried it. Places to eat out i would recommend would be shine becuase i think the food there was the best. Yumm yummys for value for money and lunas for good food and excellent entertainment.
Entertainment wise we visited the show garden once. it was a Queen tribute band.. They seemed to have a lot of tribute acts on and the show garden was very big but we didnt enjoy it as much as out nights out in lunas :) .
For entertainment off the complex, lunas grill was great. The bar nearest the stage has the 2 most frienliest and generous waiter/waitresses you will find. Take that tribute was my favourite night there.
The british oxford served cheap drinks.. it doesnt sell food but it does show the soaps, big brother, football and thanks to us X factor!
Shine pub was good for entertainment, especially for kids. it also did a pub quiz every night and bingo.
The cleanliness of the pool area was good and of the hotel.. the only problem i would add is that the rooms were only cleaned on a mon wed and fri.. and so this meant that we didnt have clean towels for a whole weekend and we had to buy toilet roll and 1 roll for 4 days was not enough for 6 people!
There wasnt really a problem with mosquitos. i think i and 2 other people were bitten once and that was it.
The staff at reception were hard to communicate with i dont think they understood what we were asking but didnt really have to talk to the staff to comment.
The entertainment team didnt push you to join in activities as much as other hotels i have stayed at which was good.
The maids were friendly.
I had a great holiday and would definately visit this hotel again.

Maid appeared three times a week and one time took the towels but didn't leave any replacements. The microwave had to be replaced as it didn't work. The plugs in the kitchen sink, bathroon sink and the bath all didn't work properly. Finally there was a large number of light bulbs which didn't work and had to be replaced.
Went to the Show Gardens twice and was disappointed with the entertainment. The tribute bands on show were all doing the circuit so if you saw/missed a band on Monday and ventured off site, then you could see/miss them again on Tuesday in Lunas and further down the strip on another night.
We ate offsite 10/14 nights but when we ventured into the bar at Diana, the staff were friendly and the food excellent. The staff at Main reception and the local Reception in Fedra I were very helpful with all the issues above and a little Spanish went a long way.
One holiday company representative was unprofessional to say the least. One rep failed to book a car hire for a special occasion and a heavily subscribed excursion (Pirates). When we complained the person taking the complaint slagged off their colleague. He also was unhelpful when dealing with the issue of a lost excursion ticket and provided inaccurate information concerning fees charged for police reports (needed to get a replacement ticket). Finally he spent a considerable period of time trying to chat up my 15 year old daughter despite being asked to leave her alone on a number of occasions.

the rooms are basic but ok we stayed in fedra 2
bare wires from sockets not fixed
no fire escape
fire extinguishers missing about 20 in our block
12 were empty
fire door broken and wedged open
emergency lights not working
full of ants
smell of sewage from sinks
the pool was never cleaned properly only used a net
around the pool there is mould and slime as no drainage for excess water 26 people slipped over in 1 day resulting in hospital visits
no lifeguards most of time
we had to got to reception with 2 year old who slipped and put his teeth through lip given a map and told to go to the hospital by taxi ?
after several days of complaing about pool they cleaned the area bby putting neat chlorine down and scrubing ,when did they do this 9 am when the
pool was getting full and people were getting stinging eyes and skin was burning
the sunbeds were reserved by 10 pm at night and most were broken
when lifeguard turned up 1 day he sat reading paper or on phone
another day a female turned up about 2pm took of uniform and sat on table sunbathing all afternoon
because of severe stagnent canal around the site loads of mossies unbearable
also the african kitchen staff live in basement of fedra 2 and chuck all there rubbish out of windows
soiled matress and human waste it stinks lots of rats and cockroaches
lots of noise and foul mouthed people
throwing rubbish and peeing of balconys
sad to say all english ?
the roads on site are not owned by complex and have local kids doing handbrake turns and play music all hours.
the local shop hires out electric motorbikes on site and the kids drive over the paths and grass between the sunbathers very dangerous as many fell of in front of cars etc
you also have to walk to reception with all your luggage on departure as tour companys will not go around the complex
we had a meeting with manager who took copys of our photos and was shocked as never had such good proof before he promised to sort out but still the same when left on saturday 1st sept
he arranged for security to pick up our cases at 6.40 am to take to reception
guess what ,it did not happen
we will never go there again

our room was cleaned about every 3 days and if you needed any extra the cleaning staff were more than happy to help.
this hotel if very close to lots of excellent eating places. the grill place near the show garden was very good, and if you turn left insterad of right and then 1st right there is a very nice scandinavian place that does great food and is a bit more cultured that most other along the strip -if you want a romantic night this is the place. Loads of really good places to the right thoug. The grill place dead opostit is really nice with a little play area if you have kids. I really must mention the crepe man. Just before the bridge on the way to the beach is a tiny crepe store with the best crepes Ive ever tasted and an amazing bloke doing them. Hes worth a watch even if your not tempted by the scruummy food.
We had 2 parties traveleing athe the other one had been placed quite far away. The staff were very helpfull in relocating them so we were all in menerva 2. the entertainment on site is a little cheesy, but we saw the queen tribute and Abba night and both were excellent. There is a good childrens section which is well organised. the bingo is ---well bingo, but the show garden is worth a trip.

Check-in was quick and easy and we were given 2 key cards to room 101 in Neptuno 2. As we had travelled with another family we were lucky to be in the same block but we were different end of Neptuno 2 (us on ground floor on one side them on 1st floor other side of building)
THE ROOM - FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Walking into the room the first thing that hit us was the slight odour of damp except from that and the fact that it was slightly outdated and needed a lick of paint the room was perfect... plenty of hanging space...full kitchenette including kettle, toaster, gas hob, large cupboard space, full cutlery and plates and even a fridge with an icebox...balcony (not as good view as we would have liked but we soon got over it)...good size rooms ect.
FOOD (HALF BOARD)
We were half board and although the food could have been warmer there was plenty of choice. At Breakfast drinks were free but at dinner you had to pay for any drinks
Breakfast...
full English (beans, eggs, bacon, tomatoes ect), toast, fruit, cereal and pastries (ect)
Dinner (evening meal)...
Meat, fish, salad, veg, fruit, cake, ice-cream, (ect)
POOLS
Out of the 7 pools we used the pool in between the 2 Neptuno blocks. We only used the pools for about 3 or 4 days during our 14 day stay. I had a rash, which we now believe to be from the chlorine. it looked like heat rash but stung like i was being stabbed repeatedly all-over. Most of my family including me had soar, bloodshot eyes after being in the pools, sometimes it was so bad our eyes would run all day making it extremely difficult to see and painful.
we didn

I found that the hotel was dirty and was amazed to find that we were cleaning our room more than the cleaners did. I think they cleaned our room twice in two weeks.
Our room did not have air conditioning so due to that we did not get much sleep because we were to hot.
The food was cold and there was pretty much the same there every night. The entertainment was not very good as it was more for children.
There was a boat outside the resturant which would take you to the beach. The bloke that owned this boat told everyone that it was the cheapest one on the island and it turned out it was the most expensive for the distance you travel.
The mossies were really bad and you would pay about thirty euros for some cream to treat it.
In conclusion I dont think that this is a very nice hotel as it not clean, the food is horrible and cold and I would not go there again!!

However, in light of being in Alcudia again with nowhere decent to stay we thought "better the devil you know" and requested the Bellevue again.
We were found a studio in Minerva 2. Well, what a difference to the Bellevue this year.
First of all, this apartment block (there are approx 15 blocks) was so much better, cleaner, more comfortable, quieter and not so shabby. so, having experienced two different blocks, I think a lot of what people have moaned about depends on where you are staying.
Our towels were changed every other if you left the dirty ones in the bath as requested. The rooms in our blocks were cleaned every other day, beds made and we had clean sheets three times in ten days.
We were given all-inclusive because of the mix-up. This meant that you could go the main restaurant in the centre of the village and could have breakfast, lunch and evening meal and as many drinks and icecreams and snacks as you wanted. Certain blocks would cater for the all-inclusive people so you could choose where to go for this. There were other restaurants in other blocks for half board. At the show garden at night there were two bars for the all-inclusive people to get their drinks from. (locally produced wines and spirits but san miguel lager etc). Be warned its like having three measures to our one!!
Staff were very friendly to you if you made the effort to smile and say "hola or Buenas Dias". Especially in the all-inclusive restaurant were they friendly and very helpful. They cleared away the plates etc very quickly. The food was a little repetative but there was such a huge choice to choose from that you didnt have to eat the same things each day if you didnt mind trying other things. There was always a choice of two soups, rolls, breads etc, salads, cheeses, pastas, veggie dishes, bolognese, meats and the inevitable chips! Desserts were to die for, with the lightest sponges I have ever tasted, ice-creams so many fruits etc. Considering the huge amount of people that they had at every meal time, the restaurant was very clean, the food was always hot and there was always plenty of food.
There are seven pools around the village so you can choose which one to go to find which is suitable for the children. Some of the biggest adult pools were no deeper than chest height so great for kids. The one big problem was that people were getting up very early to put their towls out so come 9.30am there was never a sunbed. But a few mornings the lifeguard would come on at this time and remove most of the towels where there were no people. It was quite amusing, (although a few rows were had with the poor innocent person who then came along and had that bed) to see their faces when they realised their towels were on a table. This should be done every morning I think to stop it.
The beach is absolutely fantastic for young children. It is pure white sand, clear water to see your toes and shallow for what seems like miles to walk out. It was too hard for us to go with three children, buggy, lilos etc down the main street to the beach. We used to catch the boat across the lake each time and then its just straight across the road to the beach. There is then a cafe and public porta-loo for any one caught short.
There is the problem with the mossies, but I think you are either lucky or unlucky, again depending on where you are staying on the complex and whether you are near the canals etc. Only one of my three children were bitten and it wasnt so bad this time as last time.
Please dont be put off by the previous reports. This is a very good family complex with loads to do for the children including the parks by the show garden, rides, bouncy castles, bungy trampolines, mini-golf etc. The tribute shows each night were excellent.
This years holiday couldn't have been more different than our previous stay. All i can suggest is , that if you are unlucky with your block, try and ask them to change it. Also avoid June as this seems to be the biggest problem with the students.
This is purely a complex for families.
