We have just arrived back from the Bellvue complex, i must admit having read such bad feedback on this site, we were actually dreading going and honestly considering changing our accomadation. I would just like to say i am glad we never changed as we had a lovely holiday. We stayed in diana 2, although just basic, it was very clean, we found the staff lovely, i suppose they treat you how you treat them!! The food was just as expected when staying in an all inclusive hotel. we did hear people complain.
(maybe expected lobster)! but we thought, we got value for money, The children were kept happy, they had plenty to do and to eat.The entertainment was ok. overall our stay at the bellvue was very enjoyable, we would definatley go back again, i suppose everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but please dont be put off with bad feedback as we very nearly was.

Just before I we went on holiday I read some not so good reviews and was very concerned, but when we arrived it was excellent.

We stayed in a 2 bedroomed appt in the Mervea II. The appt was spacous and clean with a large balcony.

We were on the 8th floor and I was happy with the balcony wall and railings as they were high enough to be above the head of my 4 and 6 year old (but I would say younger children climb). The room was cleaned every two days with towels changed (put the towels in the bath for changing).

The complex was clean and tidy with cleaners around all the time. The complex appears large at first but only really takes about 7 mins with small children to the front gate. You dont feel like your in a complex either.

We didn't use the entertainment as we had enough to do with the bars in and out of the complex. I found the on site bars/cafe the same prices as off site. The complex is right next to a main shopping/cafe/pub area so eating out is not a problem.

The swimming pools are clean and there are lots to choose from. People do get up very early to put towels on the sunbeds but I'd say get over it and buy a couple of cheap (

We were dropped off right outside reception upon arrival and the staff in the reception were very helpful in showing us where our room was and which bars and restaurants were all inclusive.

The room was nice and clean and we had a good view from our balcony.

Our room got cleaned every other day and got clean towels if we left them in the bath (as requested).

The food was nice, quite a few things the same but there was a lot of choice so you didn't eat the same thing every night.

The location was fantastic, 5 minute walk to the main street with all the shops and a boat ride to a street by the beach.

The evening entertainment was excellent although if you were staying for 2 weeks some acts are the same.

The entertainers and staff were friendly and there were lots of things in the complex to do e.g. mini golf.

On arrival at the Bellevue were were driven straight to Fedra 1 and checked in at the reception there. We had requested a low floor as we had a 4 year old and a 6 year old the room we were allocated was on the 7th floor. The reception staff were very helpful and found us a first floor room in Diana 2. On arrival at the our apartment I was pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of it. We had 2 large bedrooms with twin beds a good sized living area and separate kitchen with Fridge, Kettle and Microwave. The maid service was 3 times a week with plenty of clean towels and beds were changed in the middle of our stay. We were paranoid after reading previous reviews about the mosquitos but using plug ins and Jungle formula spray were enough to ensure that we had no bites. However I think that they were not as bad this years as other years. The pool at Diana was small which was great when you have small children. It is true you either get up early to reserve your sunbeds or lie on lilos, but with no air conditioning in the rooms and not wanting to keep the windows open for fear of mosquitoes it was nice to get out for some air at 6.30 in the morning. The whole bellevue resort is great for kids with a small fairground at night for the little ones and really a really good go kart track for the older ones - although it is pricey 20E for 8 minutes. We didnt spend alot of time at the Show Garden at night but what we did see was good. The only complaint that I would have is that the area around the pool are not pressured hosed often enough as the pool at Diana had an all inclusive bar and when sticky drinks got spilled the wasps had a field day, but the water its self was kept very clean. They ony reason that would make me not return to the Bellevue again is that there is no air conditioning - fans help but not really enough.

When we arrived,we should have been booked in half board, but due some mistake on our booking,we were down as self catering,we were booked into fedra one.We complained as we had to walk the length of the complex to leda one(by reception)for our meals.we also asked if we could be upgraded to all inclusive. The next day we we paid the extrra to be all inclusive and moved to the sierra one building. This was a much better appartment. The food was ok,same as any other hotel we have stayed at(and was served in the main reasurant, not in leda one, which had been the deal with half board)the pools and the entertainment were fab !Although I agree that if you're there for two weeks you see the same acts. But there was no problems with ques at the all inclusive bar, even though the show gardens were full every night. My younger children 9yrs and 5 yrs had a fab holiday, even the teenagers 16yrs and 17 yrs, who hung out mostly at the moroco bar. Would definatley go back again.

Could I start by thanking all the people who frightened the pants off us with their awful reviews and say how much fun we had in proving them all wrong by having a great time.
The Bellevue is a Three Star Complex and if you go here thinking of how much you have paid I think its great value for money.
Appartments are ample, basic but everything you need is in there. Clean and kept clean, Maids came every other day and if we saw them on the corridor and took dirty towels to them on days inbetween they would hand out clean ones no problem.
Pools were fine we were in Fedra II so had a big pool with lots of entertainment during the day. Around the pool was swept every but only hosed down every other day. There were 14 in our party a couple of smokers and 9 kids. The days we were by the pool we ate drank and smoked but always made sure our rubbish went in the bin. The mess some people left was really awful and if it wasn't a day for hosing this ment some areas around the pool could be a bit grotty. Yep its true you do need to be up early to get a sunbed which there is not nearly enopugh of , but there is lots of grassed areas where you can put your towel and lots of trees for shade.
The only bars we used were the pool bar ,which was quite expensive (much cheaper to buy pop and beer at supermarket and they sold plastic glasses) and Diana Bar which was last bar on our way home so "One for the Road" and all that. Antony the English waiter there works none stop and has good local knowledge, and it has all the sports channels.
Opposite Diana you can book No Frills excursions which worked out cheaper than booking in Reception. And it is true if you book with them to go to local waterpark you do get to jump the queue. We also went to Western waterpark at Magaluf with them , It was great here with not only rides but lots of shows ,something for everyone. Both park advertised no food allowed but noone checked your bags and food was quite expensive in the parks. We saw quite a lot of people with picnics.
Shows in the showground were really good we went to Queen and Westlife. We only went about 9 o'clock but managed to get seats even though they were near the back. I dont know whether it was because we were at the back or because we had had a couple or more drinks but they really were exellent lookalikes and brill sound alikes.
We had lots of teenagers with us who enjoyed the freedom of a large complex, they all seem to congregate in the Pool Bar near the show ground. Our kids made friends from all over and really had a ball, but word of warning our 3 14 year old boys got served in the supermarkets with beer and then got well and truely grassed up good and proper by their older sisters.
Overall The Bellevue is good value for money it has some bad points but lots of good points too.
Alcudia is beautiful. Ok maybe the main strip is a bit Blackpoolish but walk off the main road and its really gorgeous. The beach is beautiful white sands and blue sea, you can walk out for a few hundred yards and the water is still up to your waist. Also the beach is fringed with some fantastic houses, its great to walk along dreaming of that lottery win.
Depending on what you like to eat Im sure you will find it in Alcudia, There is all the typical bars with English style food, If you would like something a bit more spanish go off the beaten track a little bit. We ate down by the harbour one night and had Fresh Squid and Grilled Prawns Home made bread with Olives and Ali Oli and it was no more expensive than the places on the main strip, also it was much cooler away from the hustle and bustle.
Straight opposite gates of the Bellevue thre is a road at the side of the Pharmacy about 500 yards up there on the left is the Jolly Rodger this is owned by an English lady called Julie , food is great , atmosphere very laid back and there is a little pool in the back, we thought this was a place great value for money . Each night they have a different 3 course special and they were always really good.
The best chinese we found was the Shaghi Garden the buffet was fab and they finish off the night with a bottle of sparkling wine for everyone. We had a great night at Lunas Grill at the Take That tribute night. They were fantastic and so are the Lunas Kebabs.
All in All we had a great time and we would all definately go back to Alcudia, and if we wanted a cheap and cheerful we would go back to Bellevue.
Our Top Tips for you are..........
1.If there is anything your not happy with when you get to Bellevue ask and be firm you will probably get your way.
2.Take bread with you down to the beach ,the fish in the sea will eat it out of your hands (dont worry they're only small)
3.If you want a good table in a resteraunt book it during the day.
4.Always check your bill at the end of your meal !!!!!!
5.Take a trip on the bus to Puerto Pollensa to see the sand sculpters on the beach.

AND ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 Adults and 14yr daughter and 16yr son (self catering)

Full of worrys after reading most of the recent reviews, but since we spent the money, and needed a break, thought lets see, well we arrived on time 1130 at FEDRA 3- room wasnt ready due to the fact that the people before use paid extra to stay longer, reception gave us a secure room to put our cases, and we got changed in the toilets into shorts and tshirts, told to come back at 1.30pm came back after exploring at 1.20pm and the room was ready,

(quick point "Mytravel" took us to direct to our block.)

The room we booked was single bedroom apartment

Big space for lounge and dining table plus bed and 3 seat sofa

Bedroom contained 2 twin beds and wardrobes with safety desposit box

Bathroom consisted of basin and bath with shower and toilet (clean and tidy)

Kitchen (is that what they call it) a real disappointment
fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, kettle and 2 hotplates (didnt attempt to use very dodgy) and toaster
(This kitchen was used for the fridge and breakfast - toast and scrambled eggs or beans on toast, and making tea

Balcony - large with table and 3 chairs, ask for extra chair and was delivered same day

Maid server regular and towels changed when required

Not enough sunbed - how usual - that the way it works
(six oclock rising if you want one) - didnt play the game just brought a cheap lilo

pool noisy during the day but went to the beach so didnt really care

Entertainment - good attempts (queen, rod stewart, beatles) and
dont bother with Robby Villiams

Plus you can play water polo, and other activitys if you want to

No problems with getting drinks and it you put jungle formulas on you dont get bitten

the odd incident with plonkers using the pool after dark, but then security was alerted and it all stopped.

Use the Supermarkets off site about 2 mins walk from the entrance (water etc)

Best places to eat - Champion and Bug Bunny (great place)

meals average is aroung 6.50 but watch the deserts (expensive)

Beach is great - with loads of water sports available - go on the 4hr boat trip the rest are a waste of time

Get the fans - no air con - reception cost 18 per week but you can get them for 15

We used this as a base so just need a bed and shower plus you get telly (bbc 1 included).

People there included Germans, Dutch, Uk and Irish (mainland)
some where chavs but you get them everywhere

The Inclusive one's seem to be caged in the swimming pool but
there are enough pools if you want to chill somewhere else

Holidays are what you make it so enjoy it

stayed at fedra 1 on the fourth floor even though we requested ground as we had two pushchairs. On a couple of occasions lift wasnt working, (found out that the cleaners would occupy the lift to get cleaning trolleys upto the floors) found the rooms very clean and pleasent. On the days we wanted to spend by pool coudnt as all the sunbeds are taken from late night before (towels and chairs put on them) didnt relise us english were that sad. Found the complex far to big, and as for the entertainment in the show garden very disapointed, daughter looked forward to the grease and the high school musical shows (nothing like them). On one night my eight year old daughter went missing in the showgarden, the staff didnt want to know, to busy having photos taken to help look for her, thankfully she was found but i was very distressed to learn that there is only one sercurity gaurd (an elderly man) who goes around the site on a bike, consdiering the size of the complex and how open it is to people of the main street this was very worring, especially as i have four young girls. Sercurity is very low, i would of thought there would of been someone on the main entrance checking who was coming in and out, anyone can drive in and out. Apart from that we had a lovely holiday, have been to alcudia many times before. But this was the first time to the Bellevue and it will be the last.

We stayed on an all inclusive basis in the Bell View Complex in Alcudia. There was my husband, my daughters aged 8 and 6 and myself in a one bed room apartment. The apartment was basic but fairly clean. The rooms were cleaned and beds changed about twice a week and clean towels supplied about three times a week.

My husband and I are not the complaining type, we are fairly easy going types and dont expect five star hotels for three star prices but i felt compelled to warn others about the Bell View. We felt as all inclusive customers that we were very much second class citizens and the self-catering customers got a far better deal. We were lead to believe on booking that there were eight bars but on arriving we learnt we couldnt use them. We could use the pool bar around our pool and there was always a long queue and two other pool bars during the day but there were so busy we could not get a sunbed and there were a good walk from our own apartment. On the evening there was only one place to eat (we had been led to believe there were three). The only way to describe the restaurant was like feeding time at the zoo. The food was cold, badly cooked and very repetative (spag bol lunch and dinner for fourteen days!).

The kids disco and entertainment on a night were fairly good but the mosquittos around the show garden were horrendous. Also there were hundreds of all inclusive customers and only 2/3 bar staff. You could queue for up to 45 mins for a drink and they wouldn't allow trays. You also got your drinks in plastic cups (I can understand this during the day but not at night). The self-catering customers had waitress service and had no time to wait for drinks and had their drinks served in proper glasses.

The mosquittos deserve a paragraph of their own because I have never seen anything like it in my life. I have just read a previous report from a customer of the Bell View and she said they could easy be deterred with anti-mosquitto repellants - Rubbish! I have been travelling abroad for years and have never been bitten before. I spent 50E on anti-mosquitto repellants and we still all got severly bitten, even the children. At one point i had 30 bites. My husband got talking to a bar owner in the Port of Alcudia and he said it was a well known local fact that the mosquittos around the Bell View were terrible. All the canals surrounding the Bell View have stagnant water and some have raw sewage and they all need filling in as they are a breeding ground for mosquittos. You could tell the customers of the Bell View by their bites. It was the major topic of conversation at the bar along with the terrible service.

The hotel staff were not very helpful or friendly and i got the feeling that they looked down on all inclusive customers. It has put me off going on another all inclusive holiday for life.

We stayed at the Bellevue self catering on sixth floor minerva 2 facing inward to complex.

Direct rep with us through 2 receptions arrived in our room. Basic dated and dusty but accepted as 3 star. Could do with makeover!.

Hired car for 5 days and travelled to Porto Christo Caves of Drach, Cala D'or, Cap Formentor, old Alcudia, Porta Pollensa and various other surrounding areas. 2nd week went on no frills island tour, bus boat tram train, a must do trip!

Champion bar on strip good, Lunas good + entertaining. beaches were brill.

Ants and mossies were avoided but were prevelent! good base but very Butlins typified. We never used any on camp facilites except Spar could be expensive! and Minerva pool claim your sunbed early!

Wouldn't recommend unless as a base! We won't return to Belleview but would go back to Alcudia port area or Porto Pollensa.

Do take in all you read most are true!
