After reading many reports on this website and another well known website, I was worried we had booked the holiday from hell..... We hadn't, it was a great holiday.
This was our first holiday abroad with the kids, so we picked this hotel for all the activities and the no of pools with the kids in mind, after all happy kids, means happy parents and a happy holiday..... We did stay manily around the pool during the day, as the temp were in the early 30's (sept), the kids went from the kids clubs to the pool. The friends they made in the club, they played in the pools with. So they were permantely happy, which was great.
You can eat in any of the 3 hotels, and the food was excellent and such a good range, plenty of it. We never queued for food, some people did have a wait to go into dinning hall, but only until the next available table was ready, and the resturant staff worked really hard to keep down queues and kept the resturant very clean, and were friendly too. The kids even had their own selection of food to chose from. If you like your puddings, you'll enjoy the range available. Breakfast was great too. Go into the Marte in the evenings, and you can also have hot freshly cooked pizza & garlic bread (this is a must to try, never tasted them like I have before, infact we watched for hot pizza etc to be put out and wrapped in servettes and ate while watching outside entertainment!! Make sure you put this into your bag/under pram though as they don't like you doing this !!)
If your up early you'll see the no of staff cleaning and working away !! They really do work hard at keeping it clean, it's the holiday maker that let the place down.
The pools are all spacious, and the kids loved them. And I saw them being kept clean and water being tested a no of times whilst we stayed there (2weeks stay), which gave me peace of mind. Lifeguards at every poolside. Plenty of daytime entertainment in the pools or on the stage during the day.
Jupiter is the best of the three hotels, followed by the Marte and then the Saturno, which seems dark inside and not as modern as the other 2 hotels.
If you book with First Choice, you'll stay in the Jupiter, book through Airtours and you'll be in the Marte and Cosmos customers will stay in the Saturno.(This is what we found after meeting plenty of other holiday makers). My advice is to book with First Choice. When our 3yr old, got a 24 hr bug ( due to heat and drinking plenty of cool drinks) the reception staff in the Jupiter were great. We could have as many towels as we needed, they advised us to let him have rice, salted crips and coke to drink for 24hrs, and he'd be back to normal!! We did this, he was fine before no time.
Kids clubs~ a must. Because we flew on a First Choice flight and stayed in First Choice accommadtion (Jupiter), but booked with Cosmos, our kids got the choice of the Cosmos kids club and First Choice's kids club. We couldn't get our 3yr old to stay in the Cosmos kids club. And, we found that their rooms for the kids to be small. And if the kids needed the toliet they were shown to the hotels toilet down the corridor, which we didn't like.
However, the First Choice club was a different story, basically, it's a huge green dome shaped building the otherside of the boating lake. Lovely and clean with bright colours, and nice a cool for the kids too. Everything inside tables/chairs/ toddler slides etc were in excellent clean condition. They give you a juice bottle with space for childs name/t-shirt and drawstring bag, so you fill the bottle and as the children arrive they place their drinks into the fridge to keep cool. There is also toilets inside too. (The times were slighty longer than Cosmos which is an added bonus for us parents who need a little time out from the kids). Our 3 yr couldn't wait to go in, and on a couple of days went to both sessions! Totally contrast to us trying to get him to go into the Cosmos kids club, when we first arrived and didn't know the set up. The f/choice rep's were brillant with the kids,& all the kids soon knew them by name etc if they saw them walking around the hotel, and the set up was great, we both were very happy to let them go to this when ever they wanted.
The 3 hotels were about a 10-15 min stroll away from the main resort of Alcudia. Across the road from the front of the Saturno is a Water park, which is suppposed to be great, we didn't go in through because of the age of our kids (6 & 3) after being told it's better for older kids.
Lovely walk to the Market takes about 15 mins depending on how quick you walk, but take drinks with you (especially if you have kids). If you enjoy haggling like I, you'll enjoy this!! Becarful with your bags, as it gets busy, and is the usually story of keeping an eye on purses/wallets etc. Not let that put you off though. It didn't happen to us, because we were careful.
Yes, you did have to get down early for a table if you wanted to sit and watch the show on the Jupiter stage at night. But we didn't find this a problem, as there were plenty of plastic garden tables/chairs to put where you wanted !! Some night the entertainment was better than others, but the effort the entertainment team put it still showed through. Some famous acts too, we missed the Four Tops as we went on the Pirates trip that night.
We did go on the trip to Pirates. Yes, it was expensive for 4 of us. But, well worth it. Which was great because we were unsure of taking our 3 yr old at first. However, we decided to go, and are please we did !! It was fanastic, and we needn't of worried about our 3 yr old, once he got a bandana, plastic sword & look the part of of pirate, he played in the aisle next to our table with other kidds of his age, before the show started and during the shows break (which is when the serve the food). The show was excellent and we all (especially our 3 yr old) enjoyed it. I would reccommend this trip, even only if you do one trip the whole holiday like we did)
General summary of our holiday - great. The kids loved it, they were kept busy and enjoyed themselves. Making it a great holiday for us too !! This is a holiday for family's for sure, and I heard many of the older genration moan it wasn't what they expected from the brouchure ~ ah, hello , you can tell it's for the young family's from any of the brouchures the hotels are advertised in.
Brillant food with fanastic choice (I'm fussy, but never went hungry) and the kids choice was brillant too.
Rooms cleaned every day, by friendly maids who worked very hard!! Cleaniness on the whole was great, it's the people who don't cleaned up around their sunbeds as they leave the poolside area's that are the problem!
You do get the idiot teenagers, who mess around in the lifts, but this is down to parents not knowing what their darlings are upto.
We would go again, but book with first choice.

The Boconey was small and we were unable to talk to the rest of the party once kids had gone to bed.
I heard they had some villas so on our second day we asked if we could get one the staff were very helpfull and because we had 2 or more rooms we were given a 4 bedroom,2 bathroom, large sitting room and a fitted kitchen beutifull clean villa.
We still got to eat at the hotel,we would go back there if we could get a villa.

The cleanliness at this hotel was awful. On one occasion a spilt drink was left on the stairs in the reception for quite a while before it was mopped up.
Everyone in my party who used the swimming pool one particular day became very ill. I was fine as I didn't go in the pool but found on talking to other guests, those who had used the pool were ill also.
Location was terrible - quite a trek to the beach and shops.
Unhelpful staff - I had a few heated conversations with both the staff at the hotel and at First Choice.
Lifts were a complete nightmare.
Rooms and balconies very small.

We spent a lovely week in the Saturno Hotel. The food was good, lots of variety, the entertainment was very good - enjoyed the local entertainment more than the Reps.
So many pools to choose from, an open-air cinema at night showing Disney movies (my 7 year old loved this), pedaloes on the boating lake, etc, etc. You really didn't need to leave the complex, but we did have a couple of days on the beach, via a free air-conditioned coach from the Hotel.
The sea was warm and clear and shallow - so safe for the children. We had a lovely time and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends. In fact, we already have!

Went in all 3 hotels - this was our best all inclusive family holiday by far !

Air conditioning was marvellous, thats the only positive thing I can think of.
Staff in hotel ok, staff around the complex fruit/ice cream huts were ignorant and rude.
Nice place if you like rats, running round near the pool! The pool was so overcrowded, no one would know if you had drowned, the lifeguard was too busy chatting his girlfriend up to notice.
Every day they try to get you to move as always double booked.
Entertainment - alright if you like the tweenies by the Saturno hotel, at the Jupiter, forget it if you want to get a table for the evening, it was like a commando expedition. People would hold the tables from about 5 pm and have relays for meals etc - sad !!
This was the worse holiday we have every had and managed to get
