Being a family with two young children (4 and 1)the all inclusive aspect was great. The quality of the food was very good with a wide choice and there was no waiting. This was ideal with two young children, if you have young children you will know how it can be a nightmare at meal times!
The hotel was clean and everyone was friendly. The maid service was excellent. The room consisted of two large double beds, a small wardrobe with drawers and a bathroom with a shower and bath which again was ideal for children. We asked for a cot and I am pleased to say one was provided.
The lifts were slow but it was a good conversation point and we had a few giggles because of it. In the week that we stayed there we did not have to wait no more than 5 minutes (others would say longer). The lifts were operated by a card system which did have a mind of their own at times! but you could always get some exercise and walk!!!
We did not see all of the evening entertainment but what we did catch seemed very good. The beach is only a 15/20 minute walk away and the Bellevue complex which is great for children was also about 15 minutes away. So get out and about.
The Hotel complex was busy around the swimming pools but it was much quieter around the lake and children's play area. The free bus to the beach went every 30 minutes and we found this much easier with the children. The water is shallow and warm with an excellent sandy beach.
We found a supermarket on route to the beach which sold bottled water for less than 20p whereas the hotel shop sells it for nearer 80p so if you want to save some pennies it's worth the walk.
From the brochure you can see it is a large hotel so I do not understand these people that complain about it being busy - what do you expect! You're on holiday - relax!!!

If you have children from the age of 5 - 14 it is a great place to go, Butlins in the sun. Becuase of the number of people you can not relax for one min.
Food and drink are what you expect, if not better. You have the usally local spirts and one beer option. Food is ok, diffrent things to chose from everynight.
If the rooms would have been bigger and it had not been quite so busy I would go back.

We didn't find the inadequate number of lifts a problem, but those visitors with buggies certainly did!
The nearby beach - 15 minutes walk or free bus from hotel - was beautiful and was safe for children to swim at. We decided to spend our time at the beach rather than at the over crowded hotel on most days.
Overall, we would not recommend this hotel to our friends, due to its vast number of visitors and loud "Holiday camp" atmosphere - partly our own mistake in not researching the kind of place it was. We are not interested in playing bingo or listening to mimed, uninspiring entertainment at night.
I cannot comment on the quality of the childrens clubs or helpfulness of the First Choice reps as we did not use them at all during our stay.

We stayed in the Saturno hotel on the complex, in room 1020 on the 10th floor, the view was breathtaking. Beautiful mountains lined the sky while overlooking the pool and the lake. The reception staff were friendly and spoke very good English. The room was clean and the shower worked (very important). The pools on the complex are great. The food was excellent, you won't go hungry on this holiday as there are plenty of places to eat, and the resturant staff work so hard to keep thing running smoothly. The kids thought it was great being able to go and get an ice cream whenever they wanted one, and I made good use of the fruit bar thoughout the day, fresh melon, necterine, oranges, apples e.t.c. whilst my husband made very good use of the local lager. Ice cold water is always on tap at all the bars, so if you get fed up with all that free booze and fizz you can fill a bottle and off you go to your sun bed.
The kids made loads of friends in the pool who they arranged to meet later in the evening. We were happy to let the kids wander within the complex. For a couple of Euro they could use the computers and contact their friends back home to tell them what a great time they were having. They could go and watch a film in the outdoor cinema, or just feel grown up enough to have the freedom to wander the complex with their new found friends. Myself and my husband meet some awesome people who we will certainly keep in touch with.
I read some reviews before we left and must say was a bit apprehensive as some of the comments I read were not too complimentary. Having now returned it makes me wonder what people expect from a holiday. We paid just over

There was always some sort of entertainment on offer, whether you have children or not. Our daughter joined in the Club Mac activities (of which there are 4 each day) This was a general 'make and do' session with lots of sticking and colouring. The great thing about them was that you didn't have to pre-book and they were held under a giant shaded canopy with lots of tables and chairs so no worries about burning and we could join in if we wished or relax on the sunloungers nearby.
The children's village was great with lots of play equipment for all ages aswell as a paddling pool, shaded sandpit and a drinks/icecream bar. We found ourselves there most nights after the mini disco had finished and the children could play on motorised jeeps and bouncy castles.(small charge for this)
We all enjoyed the hotel food. Wasn't what we expected at all. Lots of fresh veg, pasta, meats griddled in front of you, salad and cheesecake to die for!(still craving it!!) To be honest the children ate a lot better than previous self-catering holidays when all that was on offer was chips!
Yes the lifts were a pain, but really not as bad a some make out. It was those of us with buggies that suffered because the lifts were full of people who could quite easily walk up a couple of flights of stairs!!
A tip for all of you with young daughters.....everyone has their hair braided, and those that don't all want it done. We queued for 40 mins at the hotel hardresser one evening and gave up in the end. Next day, after getting the free bus into Alcudia we got it done outside one of the shops for half the price and there was no queue!!
The only thing letting the holiday down was the location. We do like to go for a wander and there wasn't much around unless you took the bus/walked into Alcudia or the port. To be honest though this wasn't a problem because there was enough to do at the hotel. Definately worth going. Great, relaxing holiday.

I would be very surprised if anyone went hungry on this holiday, as there was a choice of food to suit everyone. Great bonus that it was available all day.
The hotel was set in a perfect location for me, but my 13 year old son had a bit of a moan whenever he had to walk to main shopping area or port (10-15mins). The complex was so spacious and well set out we felt that we didn't have to venture out much anyway. The grounds were immaculate and looked after very well.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Receptionists always smiled, restaruant staff cleared tables very quickly, while always being polite and helpful.
I thought the entertainment was very good and couldnt believe how hard the entertainers worked. The downside to it was how early you had to be in your seat or you wouldnt get one all night. Also the queues are very long at he bar. I have very high praise for the First Choice reps, they were always around when you needed them. Their Wavelengh reps were brilliant with the teenagers and always had time for them.
This is the second time i have been to this comlex (first time was in Saturno, but found Jupiter better).
I would definitely go again,(With First Choice). It's just a shame that there are no discounts for single parents.

Ok we found that yes some people did get up early to get sunbeds but we never went down before 8.30am and were always able to find a space we liked.
Food was excellent, my husband loved all the different fish dishes, and even my daughter (9) who is a rather plain eater never once struggled for something to eat.
Both kids went on trips with Cosmos Reps and had an excellent time.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Yes the rooms are a bit dated but very clean. My only big dissapoinment was the size of the balconies and the fact there was no furniture available for them.
And the lifts, they were a joke. We were stuck twice in them, admittidly only for minuites but enough to put my son (12) off using them completly!
We would go back, it was a great holiday and I would reccomend it. However if we do go back I think it will be a couple of weeks before the schools break up, our second week was extremely busy.
Having said that we never had to que for meals and rarely found the ques too bad at the bars.

In general, the mac chain of hotels is a very highly respected one, and has won many awards all over Spain.
Staff
The staff worked liked trojans there, nothing was too much for them, in general workers have more pride in their jobs in Europe I have found, they work hard for their wage and are insulted if you offer tips, it is a matter of honour to some.
Staff outdoors scrubbed the bins, picked up all our dirty rubbish, power washed the lake area and swimming pool areas daily, served up endless hotdogs and countless drinks with a smile.
The complex also had a hard working team of entertainers who danced and sung with our kids till midnight, nothing was too much.
Restaurant staff lined up every day at each opening to greet you, linen tablecloths were changed for every new table of customers, are there were hundreds, the main restaurant seated 775 people!
The restaurant was spotless, no sign of insects, which was quite amazing considering the amount of people who walked through there every day.
People went through an amazing amount of food, as you can imagine, and the staff were always there changing the dishes for new ones.
The reception staff were very professional, one the first night I asked why the air conditioning was not on all night, this was because of a sudden rise in temperature, the next night it was on all night for everyone, they listened and noted everything down, you felt important and of value to them.
The cleaner for our rooms was at work from 8am till night. This meant if you occupied your room and didn't want disturbed, she would eventually get to you at some point when you left it free, she never bothered you unless you asked or put the sign outside.
Towels were changed daily, always leave on the floor if you want them changed, they were never hung back up dirty, always fresh and cleaned.
The hotel has a rota, whereby the sheets are changed every 4 days, I noticed they were changed twice so this was near enough. The room was dry mopped every day, and the buckets emptied and loo rolls changed every day, also beds made.
On the subject of bathrooms, the water had limescale, hence why some people might think the bathroom was dirty. The shower head and the toothbrush mugs I noticed had a film of it after a few days. This was not due to the cleaning of the staff, it was cause by the water, and It was clean when we moved into rooms and I am sure cleaned thoroughly for the next customers.
The bar staff gave very generous measures, and again with smiles.
Can you imagine working in paradise every day anyway?, would you be permanantly happy?, wouldn't you be jealous and want to join in!
Food
I am a very fussy eater so my opinion should count even more. You will certainly not starve here, believe me.
Breakfast
On the left as you go in are the main breakfast items, hot dog style sausages, which are the main sausage served in all of europe, remember continental breakfast is more their type of food!
Even so, they knew what we wanted and had everything you would ever want for breakfast, it is my favourite meal of the day, and I had no complaints there.
Also on the main items were, beans, grilled ham, boiled eggs, churros, scrambled eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms.
All around the restuarant were toasting machines, I would put mines through twice, as I liked them burnt!
In the middle, in the grilling bit where chefs worked were served speciality sausages, my favourite.
When it came to eggs, they did do them sunny side up, and we are talking hundreds an hour, they also did them turned over, if they were no good for you, you could always ask for burnt ones. They were ones which were well done.
In the cold section, there were cheeses and hams, 7 types of cereals, dried fruit, including fresh dates and apricots, tomato juice, all fresh fruit halved, including kiwi fruits, cheese spread, bowls of chocolate spreads, 8 different flavours of yoghurt and fresh honey
There were also all kinds of cakes, almond croissants and buns.
For drinks there were fresh fruit machines, with a cold water button too. Hot machines with hot chocolate, coffee and tea.
Lunch and main course
As you go in on the left are the main dishes served, this was repeated four times along the dining hall as it was so big. Typical food here was, rice, chips, meat stew, lamb joints, mashed potato, pork steaks, fish, (I counted ten different types of fish served when I was there, including one time shark and tuna steaks) on one occasion roast beef joints were carved, the only meat I eat, and in the half an hour I was there, 8 huge joints had been carved, they just could not keep up, of course I was first in the queue for the end bits!
There was a children's section from 6-7pm and at lunch which many adults liked too! Here you would find a pasta dish, chicken burgers, cheese pies, chips or another potato food and maybe a fish dish, also 2 types of crisps and yoghurts.
In the middle in the grilling section there were 2 types of pasta and two sauces, also parmesan and grated cheese, that was my favourite haunt. There they grilled either meat or a vegetable or fish twice a day, some days sirloin steaks, other tomatoes or aubergines, other days tuna steaks.
In the middle was two salad bars, olives, onions, coleslaw, tomatoes, lettuce, and three different salad dishes, changed on a daily basis.
Puddings were typically Spanish, my faves were catalan custard, a must try, filled chough buns and brie.
Every night there was a cheese board, with endless blocks of sliton and homemade crackers, watermelon and 4 types of icecream.
Drinks were in glasses with slices of fruit and ice, 7 up, pepsi light, kaz orange and lemon (spanish fanta) and pepsi, red and white wine, tasted red it was nice, and san miguel beer, which was definately not watered down, where would they find the time with the amount that we went through! San miguel is not very strong, so maybe that is why it is not to everyones tastes.
In the marte hotel, in the middle, a basket of biscuits and wafers is put out around 4 for afternoon tea, and from 10-12pm there there are snack. I didn't like them but many others did. It was not pizza, but chicken burgers, quiche, hotdogs and ketchup in pastry, and lasagne. Also olives tomatoes and lettuce and carrot in vinegar, and fruit juice machines on tap.
Outdoors there are quite a few places for food, Rhena beach where most people go, if you go after breakfast you will find a sunbed or around 3ish, it does get busy in between and you may have to sit on yout towel in the shade.
Here there are hotdogs and burgers with chips, and a fridge with rolls and sandwiches and sachets of mayonaise, also drinks on tap.
The other food bar is next to the jupiter hotel, serves food from 1-3pm including burgers and baked potatoes in foil with cheese. Behind this is another bar which serves food right next to pool.
At the childrens village you can get ice cream on tap until 5pm, the main machine was broken during the last week we were there, but that was quite watery anyway and the proper ice cream was the best, again same flavours as restaurant, toffee, orange, lemon and coconut, also ice lollies. Ice cream was then served in small tubs, vanilla flavoured, from 5pm-12am at the marte, the middle hotel.
There was also a juice bar, where you could pick whatever fruit you wanted, and get drinks and get tubs of cut watermelon with forks to eat.
Entertainment
Main entertainment started from 8pm, kids entertained by hotel and first choice and mac entertainers from hotel. Bingo tickets were sold from 8-8.50pm, 2 euros per small ticket, 12 for 6 page. There was a lot of money to be won, typically, 100-250 euros for a line, and 400-600 euros for a full house.
From 9 was bingo, then the show started at 9-30-till 11pm.
Typically shows were very professional, once there was a broadway show, another time, whitney houston and lionel ritchie, another time an illusionist.
If you had your dinner at 6-6.30pm you were in with a good chance of getting a seat at night a the Jupiter. We spent the first week at the Marte cause of late dinners, but we loved it, Karaoke twice a week, and a much smaller crowd and more personal atmosphere. also sat at Marte at night cause of the ice cream!
We did go out a couple of times, but spent 30 odd euros and thought it wasn't really worth, not when you can have drink on tap and have 3 thirsty kids!
First choice
Kids clubs I could not fault, we put Michael in the teenage club, cause he wanted to play the playstation, but as he was special needs, he wanted to move down a club eventually cause he couldn't cope, he was much happier after this, the teenage rep there was more like a counsellor and friend to me. They don't have much time but do everything to help and have boundless energy. In the last week we had the 3 kids in three times a day, their club was at the other side of the lake, 5 mintes walk from hotel.
You need to take a drink for them at every session and sign them in and out every time. You get a bottle in pack when you register and we just filled this with the endless fizzy juice they had on tap.
Typical sessions were sports, painting and glueing, watching a video and dancing, they worked very hard to please and were faultless at their job, I could not praise them enough and would recommend you register them at the welcome meeting.
Kids also went on the soccer school, 55 euros, for 2 hours, 2 mornings at a stadium elsewhere, certificate and photos included and lots of new friends made and skills learned.
Maria also went on the bugs bunny bash day out, 4 hours away on bus, lunch, dancing, film and ice cream, oh and meeting bugs bunny, costs 15.50euros. She also had swimming lessons in one of the childrens pools, 5 lessons for 32 euros, they were very flexible, and Maria gained much confidence and a certificate at the end.
Accommodation
Rooms were ok, all rooms are basically the same in hotels, unless you choose the executive suite, you normally only need them to sleep and shower anyway.
Beds are 2 queen size, told bunk beds are not used anymore. Wardrobe space is plentiful, you are going to stay a year, there were around 20 hangers and ten shelves.
We had two rooms cause there were five of us, more expensive but meant three of us had a bed to ourselves!
There was a water machine and snack machine outside every floor, so no excuse if you check in late and need food. All inclusive is not 24 hour you know, and it is best if one of your flight bags has juice and snacks in it in preparation for the odd times you may arrive at.
It did rain on the last day, but there was plenty of room for everyone, entertainment was put on inside and things were ok for night time, it was change to the heat.
My entertainment was mainly the internet! The emac centre in the corner of each hotel's reception area, comfy chairs and access for 1 euro for ten mintutes. I logged on twice a day!
Swimming pools were always clean, we did not have diarrhoea, not even once, always check meat is not raw is a good tip, ASK for it to be cooked how you like it, don't be afraid to say that's what they are there for. I found no evidence of lifts being played with, they were not a big problem, if they were broken they were fixed very quickly, I saw no teenager spitting. I might have heard some swearing, but who doesn't swear, can you imagine the excitement for them all these new pals and hormones going wild, wish I was younger!
I didn't even see anyone drunk, only england fans, and boy was there a lot of them there, I really started missing Scotland when I saw the sea of red and white faces, no offence.
Lake had swan pedaloes and canoes, they are free before 1pm, train goes round lake at 10am and 3pm.
The teenage club is called wavelength, and is on first floor, there is a also an outdoor cinema, which shows a film every night at 9.30pm usually a disney one.
I was bitten a few times by the mossies, but I always have been, even though I had the spray on, must be, cause the kids didn't get one bite!
There is a laundrette, price is 3 euros a wash and 2 for a dry, 45 minutes to dry.
Best supermarket to use is the Spar one, outside Saturno entrance, for british things and souvenirs. Fags we bought for 20 euros a carton, royals.
Alcudia beach is lovely, white sand, shallow waters, 10km of beach. Market is on Tuesdays an Sundays, highly recommend a visit there. Taxis are all people carriers, found that funny, as in Salou there werent any!
Went on a trip to formentor beach on a glass bottomed boat for middle sons birthday. Loads of trips but didn't got to any.
Ordered a birthday cake for son, 15 euros for 4 people, restaurant made it, I gave them some extra decorations to put on it, and they decorated it with my message, it came all lit up at dinner, with the birthday song played to the whole restaurant. It was huge, enough for 10 people and it was absolutely delicious.
I feel very passionate about our holiday and hate to see remarks about cockroaches for instance, you are in Spain not in UK, I saw a couple all in all, all both outdoors, not an unusual site in 30oc heat.
Please think carefully when reading these complaints and realise many thousands more enjoyed there holidays, and just could not be bothered to post about their experiences, try not to take them seriously, it will always happen the world over. If you go with the right attitude, always ask or complain if something isn't right, do your research before you go, ask others, read about the resort, you will be well prepared.
This is a big complex, but it has everything you could ever ever want from a holiday and there were no complaints from me or the rest of my family.

We spent most of our evenings in a little bar across the road, and although we had to pay for our drinks, it was better than staying at a very under rated holiday camp, which is basicaly what this hotel is.
