The hotel was lovely, clean and food beautiful. My friend and I ate 4 courses every evening and piled the weight on!!!!
The staff lovely and the manager nice. Nothing was too much of a problem.
The good thing was there were no children to spoil your nights running around the bar area.
The hotel was out of the way with a good walk into the Bellevue (Alcudia) area. The beach was a stones throw away through a little wooded ares on the back of the hotel and was very clean. Puerto Pollensa a bus ride away and lovely. Taxis reasonable to Alcudia at night as night life is up Bellevue end. It is a walk to harbour from the beach. We used to do it in 45 mins taking our time. Only did it the once though!!!
Definitely go again. Made some good friends with the two chefs and the waiters. All 4 star to me.

I work for Lunn Poly and was fortunate enough to have an educational to Majorca. I travelled all of the island and visited many accomodations but this was definately a let down. I find it difficult now at work to try and sell this property
Firstly, like others have commented the pool area faces a very busy road that runs through Alcudia. Also not a lot around the hotel to see and do, nothing close to hand. For a gold accomodation I was expecting a lot more. The rooms were very small and the dining area too. Full of old people (sorry, do not mean to seem rude). Pool area only small. Nothing spectacular at all, it semmed very basic to me and the other 20 agents in my group.
The only up side is that the beach is across a small road at the back of the property !! We were lucky enough to see the small villas that belong to the accomodation that you can end up in, these were fantastic, very big, spacious, modern, and were more gold quality. Only down side to this is that they are not attached to the hotel, they are across a small road so you have to walk backwards and forwards to the hotel at meal times.

Have just returned with my wife from the Platja D'or (June 2002).
Saved money - compared to the brochure price by booking the holiday through Thomson's website.
The hotel itself is not in the centre of Alcudia, but is literally a stone's throw from the nearby beach. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
Our room was on the pool side of the hotel, and as others have commented, it does overlook a busy road. Yes, we could hear traffic as it ran past the hotel, but this didn't cause us any problems when we were in our room (day or night), or were laying by the pool. If you want to let it bother you, then it could!
There is a supermarket over the road, as well as a petrol station next to the hotel.
There were adults (no children at all) of all ages staying, from couples in their 20's to couples in their 80's, and everyone was more than friendly.
The restaurant was clean, restaurant staff excellent and the food for a 3 star hotel was very good. If you went for your evening meal at opening time - 6:30pm, then there was a queue. We would go for our meal at 7:30pm ish, and never had to queue.
The room we had wasn't the biggest in the world, and was quite basic, but again, for a 3 star hotel was fine. It had air conditioning, a fridge/mini bar, and satellite TV as standard.
Hotel evening entertainment was okay. The highlight of the entertainment was 'The Beathoven Brothers' - Beatles hits one after the other - excellent.
We wanted a quiet relaxing holiday, and that's exactly what we got.
