Santa Ponsa I would imagine to be quite lively resort in the mid/high season.Lots of bars & eating places,Very nice
clean soft sand beach, with the usual pedaloes &boat trips. We visited 2nd week oct during the day seems quite busy, but evenings are very low key, some bars closed
others only showing sport very little live entertainment.
easy to get out & about good bus service to Palma nova, Palma,Paguera etc.Palma Nova seemed much busier
and had a lot more entertainment wise.Would go again but maybe a little earlier in the season.Weather good but can be changeable chilly evenings.

Santa Ponsa is a lovely, clean and family friendly resort. The beach is very clean, soft sand and gentle slope into the sea. A beach prom runs along the back of the beach with shops, cafes and bars.
There are loads of very nice restaurants and cafes throughout the resort and some good, lively bars. There is an Irish Quarter with live music and friendly bars, and 'The Square' slightly up the hill, with live (free) entertainment most nights.
Excellant local bus service (eg to Magaluf/Palma Nova/ Palma City/ Paguera etc, and good cheap local taxi's.

Beach was excellent with nice golden sand gently sloping down into the water.
Beware you have to pay for sunbeds and parasols. Also nice shops and cafes all along the beach front. nice supermarket across from beach selling Baguatte's for lunch but watch your change as I was short changed the last day i went there.

well, after reading all the reports,id built my-self up, only for a fall.. i didnt like it, too british, the beach is ok but not scenic, cafe's on one side apartments on the other side, i like to sit on a beach and be able to see open space for miles.lots of shops like sell the usual tacky junk, i found eating out expensive,
santa ponsa not for us..

The resort was very quiet at night a lot of the bars shut by 11 pm. Hotel entertainment with shows etc good. The beach could have been cleaner but it may have due to rains previously but I would definately return.

Very nice resort, a lot of families and entertainment geared towards them, however plenty of bars if you want a few "cheeky ones". If you're looking for a mad dancy disco type holiday then this isn't for you, however we had a great time and don't class ourselves as past it yet!! Loads - and I mean loads of fab places to eat - I recommend the sandwich shop next to the supermarket opposite the beach for lunchtime takeaway - sandwich heaven!! If you're not sure where it is ask Captain Birdseye - he arranges boat trips from the street corner and I guarantee you will know him when you see him!! Speaking of Captain B - great value for money boat trips/fishing trips. The buses are always jam packed so if you fancy a trip to Palma try and buddy up - if there are 4 of you it is quicker (and not much more expensive) to get a taxi for about 20euros. The very best thing that I liked about Santa Ponsa - no hassle!!! Not once did anyone try to drag me in a shop/bar or try to sell me a timeshare - now that is unusual in this day and age. Would definately visit this resort again, for those sandwiches if nothing else!!! Finally - be aware on the beach the sunbeds are 3 euros each, as are the umbrellas - they will not let you have your beds without the umbrella as well so for 2 it can be 9 euros a day - could be worth buying a lilo to lay on - much cheaper if you're on a budget.

Had a great time in Santa Ponsa lots to do and see. Visited Palma, Pequera, Magaluf and Palma Nova and not expensive at all to get to these places by bus or taxi. On the way down to the irish end there are plenty of cafes and restaurants. The one we ate in most of the was Teazers. Great Breakfast at reasonable prices. And great dinners at night and not as expensive as others. We ate in other places but always ended back up at Teazers had a good laugh with Dougie and Irene and Irish Phil. They told us where to get the buses and how much it should cost and all the best bars to go into. Will see them again next year.
