we found this resort very clean and not like the usual spanish resorts, much more greenery about. the beach was spotlessly clean, and further to previous reports about dog mess, we didn't even see a dog never mind any mess. this resort is ideal for anyone with walking difficulties as everything is fairly flat, even the walks which are uphill are all gentle slopes as opposed to really steep hills.

This resort has something for everyone, an excellent beach and water sports and nightlife for every taste. We had 2 young children with us so it was advisable to visit the irish bars before the crowds of drunken young lads and girls arrived who took over the entertainment. There were plently of quite places like the Carlos 111 which gave excellent service. There are plently of places to eat a favourite being Jackie's restaurant which gave excellent service and value for money. The watering hole with it's swimming pool was also excellent. Taxi's were very easy to get and you are a mere 10 minutes from Palma Nova, Magaluf and the water Park, also Palma whose cathedral is well worth a visit. Would definitely come here again.

resort was very clean beach great for swimming with plenty sunbeds only 4.50 euros for the day, plenty to do at night , make sure you go to the square as entertainment was excellent, we would never have found it but were with friends who had been there before.prices in bars pretty good never felt we got stung.on the last night we had a meal in a restaurant up from the roundabout , the one with the fish tank outside its got to have been the best meal i have had in years, start with the melon in port, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Santa Ponsa has got a beautiful beach, no complaints. There are pleanty on loungers and hire for the day is cheap. Lots of good pubs to visit. I particularly enjoyed the Dubliner. The band The Paddywhackers are great entertainment. Jim and Vinny have a great act and are there every year. Around the Irish quarter can get rather roudy, but for the most part it is good natured. If drunken youngsters is not you thing The Square or the other side of the bay would be a safer bet. The only place i would urge everyone to avoid is Fama nightclub. This place is situated right in the centre of town in front of the Sun Beach appartments. Casual violence appears to be the order of the day in this place..by the staff i might add!!! On the second night of our holiday we met a young girl ( approx 15 ) from Blackpool who was histerical. She claimed a staff member had attempted to drag her into the toilets and sexually assault her. The police turned up and took no action inspite of the member of staff being pointed out to them. The girls dad turned up and took her away. Less than an hour later i personally witnessed an African bouncer stamping on a guys head on the stairs. This guy was doing nothing to resist but the attack continued untill some of the crowd that had gathered managed to drag him up the stairs away from this maniac. The guy was last seen being taken away convulsing and with a suspected broken jaw. Once this African staff member had finished with him he started laying into 2 young Irish girls punching them full force around the head and face. The police turned up and surprise surprise took no action except from forming a cordone around Fama to keep the by now very angry crowd at bay. Indeed they seemed to find it all rater amusing, standing around laughing like some sort of Bannana Republic paramilatry group instead of a modern police force. As you have probably guessed no arrests were made. The violence was sickening, and after speaking to some ex pat bar owners these were far from isolatd incidents. Please please be safe and stay away from this den!

Santa Ponsa is lovely. We stayed in Jardin del Mar which was about a 20min walk from the centre where there was lots of nightlife. Near to our hotel was the 'square' where there was entertainment on every night and was nice to be there with 2 young children - lots of families. There was also a play area with bouncy castle and fairground swings which the kids loved every night. Lots of shops, bars, restaurants. The beach was a 10-15 walk from our hotel and the kids loved it. There was lots of rocky areas to sunbathe on either side of the bay but not suitable with kids. We would definately return to Santa Ponsa and stay in this area again.
