Location
Hotel was very clean.
Reception staff reasonably helpful. Had problem with ants which was dealt with in ten minutes of reporting.
Entertainment was poor and very loud. Stage was outdoors. Music was played very loudly and could be heard in all rooms even with windows closed. Pity those with young children trying to get them to sleep. Even though a family hotel not good for young children.
All major tour operatours had reps in hotel.
Though classed as 3 star should be rated 2 star.
Definitely a place to be avoided by older couples.
Will not returning to this hotel

Club Aquamarina is a very old hotel which has had a paint job but that's about it. There are very bad smells which come and go, not only in the rooms but outside.

The hotel doesn't look that nice from the outside but I plan to be out as much as possible during my holidays.
With so many pool areas and the fanatastic beach who cares about the rest.
We stayed in Block B the first time May/June and found it okay. This time we had a room in Block A and I wouldn't pay extra for it, especially now when they are putting air con into all rooms. We had seaview from Block B but nor from Block A so it all depends on where you end up in the Block.
The food is okay not fantastic but fine. I have been to other places with buffets and would say that they are all pretty much the same.
Rooms clean and tidy, small yes, but hotel rooms are small. As there is so much space around the hotel both in shade and in the sun that didn't bother us at all. The first time we had some days with bad weather and the children still managed to keep occupied with the hotel team. Mercedes did a fanatstic job.
The staff were all very nice and always had a smile for us and in particular our little one. When I went with my friend they had time to talk a bit and they were all very nice. The older gentlemen in the bar had a fantastic humour. Being Swedish, it was fun to hear that one of them even knew some Swedish words.
Towards the end of the season it is very quiet but that was what my friend and I wanted. I wouldn't go there if I wanted to party a lot.
In all a great place but I guess it all depends on what you want from your holiday. I will definitly go back the question is just when.

Already booked into block (A), air con, fridge had been updated. Maid service daily, hotel in general clean. Food was disapointing, although our very fussy 10 year old did find something to eat, I got a bit fed up by 2nd week, if we went again we would budget to eat out a few times a week.
Hotel location excellent, majority of hotel staff very friendly and helpful, waiting staff a bit miserable at times and are very keen to take your plate after finishing your last mouthful (when dining room is less busy), can be a bit difficult when really busy to find a clean table.
Animacion staff brilliant especially Eric. Already looking to book again for next year.

We were really worried about going having read some of the other reports, but once we had checked in and found out we were in block B we discovered the reports to be totally unfounded.
We were in 3066 & 3068, the rooms were immaculate, they appeared to be recently decorated and we had fantastic views of the pool, the entertainment area and views of the surrounding area.
There wasn't any air conditioning in the rooms but we didn't find it a problem we just left the patio doors open and let the breeze blow through(apparently air con is being fitted oct 2006).
We also hired a fridge because no fridge in block B rooms. The rooms we cleaned daily and towels changed daily, the bedding was changed 4 times.
The facilities were fantastic 4 pools,Play area,Free Nursery(Isabella, nursery nurse really nice),great animation team who kept the kids and the adults entertained both day and night, there were some really good shows-Robbie williams, Queens of the night, The Four Tops and The Temptations(definatly the best)+many more great shows.
The Food was OK,not the best cooked breakfasts, but plenty of other choice instead.Evening meals were nice with plenty of choice.
Overall a nice hotel it just needs a lick of paint on the outside and Air con would be nice in block B rooms. Would definately go back again and would stop in block B again with no hesitation.

The food was good. Plenty to choose from and very fresh. There was show cooking everynight and we enjoyed some lovely roasts. They had seafood paella twice which was also very nice. The restaurant had the most amazing views over the bay and was very clean and air-conditioned.
The Entertainment was pretty good. There were professional shows every other night including, tribute bands to Abba, Robbie Williams, The Four Tops and the Temptations, a couple of Flamenco type shows and a funny parrot show for the children. The animation team did their own shows on the other nights which the children quite enjoyed - one was called Jungle rock and there was lots of disney music and dressing up.
There were two kids clubs - the hotel run animation team and also an airtours club run by two english ladies. Our children tried both and had quite a nice time but didn't use them much at all as they preferred playing in the pool. They did enjoy the mini disco that was held every night at 8.30 which was followed by bingo (150 Euros for the fullhouse on some nights!) and diploma time (certificates were given out for the winners of the daytime activities). The show would start around 10pm. There were waiters ready to serve you whilst enjoying the show but the drinks in the bars at the hotel were quite expensive. 3.30 Euros for a pint and over 5 euros for a malibu and coke!

We were told that we were booked with air con, fridge and see-view, and ended up in a tiny room above the shop overlooking a road with no balcony but a small unopening window! Block b is adequate but you need to buy a fan.
Entertainment was pretty good, something for everyone including kiddies disco, followed by bingo before the proper entertainment. The rep was very elusive

The block not facing the sea still does not have air conditioning and needs it badly. The food is the big let down. If you like a wide variety of plain food you might disagree with me.
As this was our 3rd visit and we got it cheap at the last minute we could budget to eat out. There are some good eating places close by if you have transport or take the road train.
We were pleased to see the external upgrading and were well impressed by the new pools since five years ago. As always the staff were hard working, cheerful and friendly. They were a great bunch of people. The location at the edge of the beach takes some beating but there are many steps to and from the beach. Our tip is to use the lift in the front block for part of the journey from the beach.
We noted new facilities in the bathroom which was good news. But why not include a better shower head and tube too?
We saw a little of the entertainment and it was up to standard. All in all we recommend the hotel.
