Don't go. There are much better places to stay in Menorca
The beach is lovely! But stay away from this hotel!

Very blue clear water, ideal for snorkeling.
Don't think the beach was cleaned every day, they could do a bit of litter picking!
Shame that some neaby restaurants were selling english beakfast and horrible cheap greassy food instead of local food.
The vue in some restaurants was great.

The resort is very small with just a few Spar supermarkets, bars and restaurants.

There is just not a lot to do there in the evening we did not expect it to be as quiet as it was. The only thing it has going for it is the lovely beach!!

The beach area is very clean but be warned there are approx 187 steps back upto the hotel !! Not all in one go , part of it was ramped, through shops and a chinese restaurant. Think of all the puddings to walk off !!

A BIG plus with this hotel was NO KIDS . WE have stayed at other T.G hotels and the little devils were there. Bliss !

We would recommend this hotel for that reason alone, but beware of the steps !!

Purpose built resort very clean .Beach very clean in a nice sheltered bay.Good beach for children.Several bars and restuarants.Sa Cavanna can be recommended very welcoming run by Katie who made every one feel welcome. We went there every evening to escape the noise at the Aquamarina.Had several breakfasts there also an evening meal excellant food and service.
If you wanted different entertainment try the Irish Bar only problem there was same programme of music every night.Resort quiet ideal for unwinding and walks along the coast.

Arenal is a very quiet place. Not a lot to do nearby. There is Coves Noves, about a 10 minute walk up the road which has bouncy castles etc. but the man who runs it decides when he opens and closes it. For instance, we turned up the one night, paid our entrance fee and after only 10 minutes he decided to close. If I hadn't asked about a refund he wouldn't have given any. Instead of refunding us he wrote on the back of the ticket the following days date so we went back but he hadn't even opened up. We had two very miserable children.

Resort of Arenal De'n Castell is very clean.

A lot of people think there is not much entertaiment in the resort regarding bars! We know of six, not that we visit all of them, but the Irish bar known as Bar 51 is well worth a visit.

The bay is horseshoe in shape and is very picturesque.

The resort was quite barren and to get to the beach from the hotel required an energetic stroll down a steep hill. Once on the beach you are plagued with jellyfish and they stung quite a few people from our hotel, one chap requiring a day in bed to recover. Sea at times unsuitable for small children as the waves are very large. The beach felt very cramped and lacked a paved prom or beachside café.
The roads and paths were very uneven with a lot of potholes and poor lighting in general the area felt unfinished/neglected.
Apart from the Irish bar (which we did not visit) the area lacks any significant walks, shops and real holiday entertainment. A bus runs from outside the hotel to Mahon, or Fornells this we did use twice, you need to arrive at the bus stop at least 20 mins before the bus is due as the queue gets extremely long and once the bus is full (bursting at the seams) the driver will just shut the doors and drive off. It was recommended to us not to wait for the last bus back but to get the one before because of the reasons stated above unless you wanted a ride in a taxi, because of their siestas which cant be helped it didn’t give you long and your destination maybe and hour or an hour and a half maximum as again you need to be at the bus stop at least 20 mins before the bus is due. The bus can be up to 35 mins late picking you up from the hotel as well.
As the area was quiet and you do get fed up with just sitting round the pool or the beach after a while we decided to go on 2 excursions arranged by the reps. The first one was Uncover Minorca which is very interesting if you get Sylvana as your tour guide, we visited El Toro, a cheese and wine tasting venue, Citudella, Gala Gadanna (lovely here), a leather shop and a horse show a lot was crammed into the day but not enough time allocated for the different stops so you were always clock watching. A very good trip but quite expensive for a family. Our 2nd visit was to the water park in Cala Blanes (don’t bother), it was extremely small and very dangerous on the smaller slides the life guard would sit a the bottom of the slides but their was no organisation at the top so the children were just piling down the slides 1 after the other without waiting causing smaller children nose bleeds, kicks and generally getting hurt. You also have to pay for your sun beds on top of the admission price, which wasn’t very fair. Where we were sitting I counted 22 people fall over both adults and children on the slippery floor some were quite serious accidents. This excursion was very expensive for what was there, although the food area was reasonable and nice.

There was quite a lot of grafitti in the area and early in the morning there was lots of debris from the night before including broken bottles and glass.

There are several bars come pubs in the resort that have live music or tribute acts. They stay open till 4am but we never heard any late night noise from them

The beach is lovely but the sunbeds are expensive at 15 euros for two for the day.

Resort cleanliness OK a few strange smells here and there, and loads of ants.

Definitely worth a visit to the Irish pub, outback bar and smithys.

Beach and views fantastic.

Very quiet resort with only a handful of restaurants and a few bars,we only went out a few times because the kids never wanted to leave the hotel, but when we did go out we enjoyed the Irish bar.We also found the Good bridge cafe nice for lunch time snacks,it had great views of the bay.
We walked up to Coves Noves one night, this has some nice restaurants,a bar and bouncy castles and trampoline area-you paid 5 euros and the kids can bounce as long as they like.
The beach was very nice and safe for the children. We hired a pedalo one day which was nice,10 euros for an hour.
There is also a Wally Train that runs round the resort, this is OK for kids under 7,but it is 6 euros each even for under 2's!
Overall a nice resort, but if we haven't of had the entertainment in the hotel we would of found the resort too quiet.
