Don't go. There are much better places to stay in Menorca
The beach is lovely! But stay away from this hotel!

The beach was clean but the seaweed could have been cleared and it would have been even better. The only entertainment was at the Irish and Australian bars. As we were there at the start of the world cup we could watch plenty of football and the Aussie bar had entertainment. The Irish bar had a resident singer/comic who was very good at the beginning of the holiday but you knew the repertoire after a few days. It never altered. Arenal is very clean, but as there isn't much there we weren't surprised.

Having been to Menorca several times with children previously, I would recommend Arenal de Castell to be the best beach. It's fabulous. The water is crystal clear, great for swimming and the sand fine. Ideal for families with small children. There are several cafes on the beach and also pedelos.
Arenal itself is fairly quiet, so don't go if you want all night clubbing. The livliest place in May seemed to be the Irish pub. It was always busy and seemed to be popular with locals as well. There was a live singer every night, encouraging audience participation and a great atmosphere.......although, by the end of the week, we knew his running order and his jokes better than him!
We also hired a car for 3 days. Menorca is so small that you can't possibly get lost and even if you do, you just point the car towards the Mahon main road to find a signpost and find your way back. All roads lead to Mahon!
Mahon is great for shops and a walk around the harbour is not to be missed. Also well worth a visit is Fornells. A lovely place with good restaurants and a bit of an upmarket apmosphere.
All in all Menorca is relatively unspoilt. Arenal de Castell is fantastic for families with young children, couples and those wanting a quiet beach holiday. We are already planning another week next year...........

Beautiful beach, very safe. Sun lounger hire was 5 euros per day.Pedaloes and canoes available to hire, a few beach bars and restaurants a short walk along the beach. Not much to do in the resort itself, but that was part of the appeal for us. We didn`t want `British pubs` full of rowdy people in Union Jack shorts! Good bus sevice into Mahon and Fornells, very cheap fare, only 1.85 euros! I can only go 1/2 a mile for that in Kent! Bar prices reasonable, snacks in the restaurants were fairly priced too. Recommended if you want a quiet holiday with not too much action.

The resort was beautiful.
The beach was spotless with plenty of sunloungers and parasols, because we went early season we were limited to the amount of entertainment that was laid on in the resort but we did enjoy evenings in the Irish bar very enjoyable singers and comedy acts.
I could imagine the entertainment to be fantastic in all bars high season. We found the price of drinks alcholic and non alcholic a bit on the expensive side.
I would visit this resort again but it would definitely be July/Aug when there would be a bit more life about.

A quite resort with a very clean beach. A few shops - supermarkets, two perfume shops, bars and restaurants. Quite hilly but great views of the shoreline and sea. Horseshoe shaped bay and was the first resort we saw as the plane came into Menorca. Some building work going on but hardly noticed or heard anything.

Too quiet for us, would have to hire a car, but we were only there for a week and we saw absolutely everything in the first 2 days.

Not a lot going on at night so we stayed with hotels entertainment which was top notch, but plenty of lovely places to visit Ciuededella beautiful harbour and small market.
Mahon was bustling. Lots of nice walks over headlands, veiws are amazing, sea was warm and clear, sunbeds on beach were extortionate.16 euros for 2 beds and a brolly...can you believe it! Needless to say we only used them once.
Lovely uncommercialised quiet resort , heaven for us old codgers.

As far as the location is concerned, there are no noisey teenagers and the area is so safe that I as a female found it enjoyable to be able to wander around the resort alone. The centre of the resort is lovely with a few restaurants and bars. A visit to the Irish Bar is a must. Be warned though that the singer uses the same routine/songs/jokes each evening! You must also be broad minded! On our second visit we were a bit disappointed but subsequent visits were funny because we knew which joke/song was coming next.
There is also a nice beach bar which makes having a meal with lovely views of the bay a very nice experience.
If you are after a Benidorm type holiday this isn't the resort for you. If you want fantastic scenery and a safe environment for children I would certainly recommend this resort.
