The beach is lovely! But stay away from this hotel!
Don't go. There are much better places to stay in Menorca

the resort is fairly quiet a scattering of bars and restaurants, English pub have quiz nights, the Irish pub has a good atmosphere, the resort is clean but not spotless, the beach looks lovely but did have litter scattered about even though bins are provided, the sea started shallow but went deep after about 20 feet.

Never felt the need to go out of the resort, beach is splendid, clean, warm and shallow a families dream. Pedaloes are for hire if you feel up to it. Up the road is a bouncy castle haven, kids go in as long as they want for 4 euros while you can enjoy a relaxing drink overlooking the play area.
Overall one of the best holidays we have taken. Have booked again for menorca but a different resort Galdana. This is because we want to experience all the island.

The beach at Arenal is stunning, a horshoe shape cove, with clean water ranging from clear to jade to turquoise to deep blue. It was always very calm and perfect for the kids to swim in - which they loved as the fish come and swim around you!
It was never mobbed, and we had no trouble in getting sunbeds and parasol(15€ for two beds & parasol)not cheap, but the sand does get very hot!!
There are watersports available, windsurfing, diving as well as the pedaloes and canoes for hire.
There are a few beach front restaurants, our favourite being Sa Paella, although you pay more for the location, it was lovely just being able to go straight there from the beach. The staff were really friendly and spoke excellent English.
We also liked El Mirador, which is a pub/restaurant in an elevated position with fantastic views over the bay, with loads of outside tables and a swimming pool.
We also tried the Chinese restaurant, which was o.k. and the Romani restaurant, again good views and the meal was lovely.
Most of the restaurants have pretty much the same menu, particularly for the children, and the desserts are the same wherever you go - only varied by price.
Arenal is not a big resort, and there are no real shops, just a few mini markets and a couple of souvenir shops and about 10 restaurants - no clubs, but there are a couple of bars with entertainment if that's your thing.
There is a mini train which takes you on a 45 minute trip around Arenal, through a place called Coves Noves and to a little village called Na Macaret - very small, only a few restaurants, one of which we went in - can't remember the name - the food was great, but very expensive.
We visited the water park at Cala'n Forcat, and were very disappointed - it was very small, could do the whole park within an hour. If you have never been to a water park before I suppose it is ok, also if you have very small children, but there is very little shade and it does get really hot!
A nice place to visit is Mahon, we spent a couple of nice days there, and went on a catamaran trip around the south coast, which was fantastic.
Also worth a visit is Cuitadella.
Overall, the island is a nice place - not heaps to do but quiet and not too built up - which makes a nice change.

The resort is VERY British. Eating out is limited by the shortage of nicer places to go. For such a beautiful bay there were no quieter bars with a beautiful view. (For which I'd happily have paid a premium.)
Hire a car or stay somewhere else.

The resort was so clean and tidy it looked unreal rather like Noddy's Toytown. The street signs looked new as did all the houses. Does anyone live here? It was so peaceful and quiet. As we stayed in the hotel each evening, I am not sure about the resort entertainment. I could certainly hear music from somwhere. Think it was the Irish bar down the road. The beach was smooth and clean. Not a bit of seaweed was washed up. I would definitely visit this resort again but stay somewhere lower on the beachfront. Watch out for the little train which takes you to a fishing village Ne Macaret which looks as though it has stepped back in time. Wonderful.

Very clean resort. English ad Irish bars good, no drunkeness, erveryone had a laugh. Beach lovely, but sun beds expensive. Other resorts on the island do not charge as much.

The resort itself was very quiet, which suits me most of the time although it is sometimes a struggle to think where to go for an after dinner walk.
Most of the entertainment is found in the hotels and the bars liven up after midnight.
