The beach is lovely! But stay away from this hotel!
Don't go. There are much better places to stay in Menorca

Beautiful sandy bay with a scattering of shops within 10-15 minutes walk. Quiet family resort ideal for a relaxing beach holiday. Mahon worth a trip on the bus.

Arenal D'en Castell is a relatively quiet resort consisting of 2 large hotels and an array of villas and apartments. The size of the resort is such that it is possible to walk from one end to the other in approximately 25 minutes.
It is an ideal family location and is also suitable for those seeking a quiet relaxing holiday. It is not suitable for any people with walking difficulties. It has an adequate number of bars and restaraunts with some providing evening entertainment.
The jewel in Arenal D'en Castell's crown is its superb sandy beach which never seems to be overly crowded. Make sure that you stay on the beach late at least once and watch the sun go down at about 8.30 in the evening.

Resort is very quite with just a few shops and cafes the views and beach were lovely and clean.
This resort is not for those who like to party. There is a kids funpark and a mini train to take you there as its a very long walk.

There is a bus that runs froms the hotel to mahon menorcas capital daily from outside the hotel and trips can be arranged by the reps, we didnt use this facility as the beach is so amazing you didnt want to move from it. The crystlal clear water gently lapping against the shore is the most relaxing way to enjoy your holiday. The beach is very clean and you are encouraged to take your rubbish home with you. We will definatly come back to Aguamarina for a 3rd time, even my parents have said the same as they have had such a brilliant time

Not much going on in Arenal, but then we went to Minorca because we wanted a fairly quiet holiday.
The Beach is in a lovely horse shoe shaped bay, with very clean sands and crystal clear water. You have to walk down to it, but its not too bad, and you can look in the shops as you walk down or call in one of the bars or restaurants for a rest on the way back up!
Went snorkelling and saw loads of little fish. Someone told us that on one day there were jellyfish in the sea, but I think that they only come in on days when the sea is a bit rougher. The bay was like a millpond on the days we were at the beach, and we did not see any jellyfish and had a great time. One evening we walked down to the bay when the sea was a bit rougher and saw some jellyfish (well, bits of them).
Not many bars, but the Irish bar is very good and we would watch their entertainment from 20:00 (We saw Flamenco dancers and Irish dancers) and nip back to the hotel to see the main act of the evening at 22:00.
There are a few shops and we found that the larger Spar supermarket in the 'White Sands' apartment area, to the left of the bay, was the cheapest and held the broadest range of goods.
There is a pleasant pathway to Ne Macaret, which is a small coastal village about 30 mins walk from Arenal.
Although the beach and the main streets in Arenal are very clean, some of the waste ground inland had rubbish lying around it, and this was a bit sad to see. All in all though, a great resort for a weeks stay, though we would hire a car if staying longer.

Certainly a small quiet resort but so peaceful and friendly. Our hotel had such a busy entertainment programme that it didn't really matter.
Felt very safe here we ate out one night and the meal was beautiful and we could have sat all night, they are so laid back and friendly, if you like Blackpool in the sun it wouldn't be for you ,but if you are going to relax and enjoy local life you couldn't find anything better.
We toured the island and this was certainly one of the nicest areas with a spectacular view of the bay.

There isn't any shade on the beach, although you can hire sunbeds and parasols. The water is lovely and warm and clear. It is usually calm but there were some waves on our last couple of days. Hubby did actually get stung by a tiny jellyfish while paddling on our first day!!! Which he said was like a nettle sting. It did put us off going back to the beach for a while, but we did go several times and went swimming and never had any more trouble. I think they get blown in on stormy weather. but when it's calm you're OK.
The other funny thing about the resort is that there is no "prom" as such to stroll along. In fact if you want an evening stroll and don't fancy all the steps it's almost better to take the road away from the resort (past the dreaded building works!), which zig-zags down to the beach, rather than the road through the resort which is built up with houses etc. and you can't actually see the beach from it! (hope that makes sense!)

Because the hotel was so fantastic, we really didnt wander far. There was a great place called Coves Noves about 5 mins away from the aguamarina that had a supermarket, a few bars and restaurants and a great bouncy castle, trampoline and Go cart arena for the children to play in. It was all enclosed and was only 5 euros for as long as you liked. Perfect for allowing the adults to relax with a drink knowing that you could watch over the children
