Location
We found our room easily and were very pleased on what we found, it was large and very clean, everything we needed.
The only complaint regarding the room was that the balcony overlooked other balconies and vice versa. Which meant for the sake of privacy we were unable to open our curtains fully for the whole week. This problem would only occur if you had a room which faced another one of the hotels.
One other point to note is that in the mornings staff would go about their daily duties, because of the courtyards below the sound travelled and what seemed like a conversation felt like a shouting match and the wheels on trolleys sounded like a train passing outside the door.
Otherwise the complex was brilliant, three very different pool areas in regards to atmosphere, the resort was central to all activities, a 10 min walk to the sandy man made beach, 5 min walk to the centre of town, a nice coastal path which lead you past the rocky coast line, past the chip monks, and onto the harbour area.
To top off a lovely holiday there was also a courtesy room, where we showered and changed and didn

The main reception for all three was at the Antigua. Could be a bit busy at times especially at check in times and departures staff very friendly and all spoke very good English.
The rooms were very spacious and clean and fresh towels changed most days except Sunday and beds were very comfortable and no noise at night. Nearby Elba shop open until midnight very handy if your flights delayed !!!!!!

We had booked for the Aparthotel antigua but were allocated our 2 bedroom apartment in the San Jorge, this was OK.
The complexes each have a pool and childrens pool each, we used all three, the pools are all quite deep and if you have younger children ( under 8's)I would recommend using armbands for peace of mind.
We like the one in the Castillo suites the best, this was quieter than the other two.
Our apartment was large and clean , 2 big bedrooms, lounge, bathroom and kitchen area.
towels were changed three times a week and bedding once.
This next part sounds like a big whinge but it was just niggly things and didn't spoil the holiday , I would go again.
We didn't have enough drinking glasses, coat hangers, no tin opener or corkscrew. We asked for all of these and got them , we had already bought a corkscrew, its essential!! The tin opener was one of those lethal sharp point kind, best to take one from home a lot easier to use and safer.
I can't comment on the food as we were self catering.
We did not go to any daytime or evening entertainment either as we were out and about to the beaches and trying out various places to eat and drink in the resort at night.

This hotel is three hotels together the San Jorge, Antigua, Suites, we stayed in Suites on Half Board.
You can stay on bed and breakfast, half board or all inclusive, we would recommend AI.
The Hotel
Very clean, maid service every day except Thursdays and Sundays, our room was a one bedroom self catering room and we was on half board which was good as you had a fridge etc, they do have two bedroom rooms as well.
Pools
There are 6 in total a main pool and children

It was our first trip abroad with our 16 month old son and the staff could not have been more accommodating to our needs. There are lifts situated throughout the hotel and good access for buggies throughout.
We didn't opt for the sea view (which costs extra) but we wished we had as it was spectacular and the main pool is almost like an infinity pool as the views of the ocean are that close.
The hotel leads on to the coastal path which was handy for walks with our son.
As for entertainment, we were back in the apartment with our son by 10 each night and it was a little loud (particularly the awful karaoke night) but you tend to ignore it after a while.
The supermarkets are a bit pricey but there are plenty of Nettos nearby which are reasonable but do check the milk as it seems to go off really quickly.
There were refurbishment works taking place all across the site but everyone seemed to work quietly and generally out of sight which I was highly impressed with.
I would recommend this place highly and would go again.

The Castillo suites are the nearest to the beach/town of the three blocks of hotels owned by this group on this site.
When we went, we had a rental car waiting for us at the airport so we were at the hotel within 10 minutes of leaving the airport (Yes it is that close and although the hotel is in the flight path we never found the noise intrusive).
When we got there the room wasn't ready and we had to wait for an hour for it to be prepared. While I was waiting another guest came to the reception to ask if he could have a sea view instead of the room he had been allocated, which he got, but as I recall it cost him 105 Euros extra for 1 week, so I was delighted when we got our room and found we had a perfect panoramic central sea view.
We were on the first floor (the same as the empty reception) and the room was clean tidy and well equipped, the room was cleaned most days.
This block had 2 swimming pools, one in the centre of the complex which was surrounded by the buildings and therefore spent most of the time in the shade and a kiddie pool between the hotel and the sea.
We used the pool in the next hotel along because it was bigger and caught the sun from first thing through to about 5pm. There was a kiddie pool about 3m round beside it for the little ones. Lastly there is another pool in the next complex along with a pool side bar but we never bothered with it because it was surrounded by the hotel it didn't get good light and was very overlooked. The pool areas and walkways were cleaned every morning and could be a little slippery until dry.
There is a mini supermarket on site which was not cheap (they never are). We used the restaurant in the main central block which was good value in 2004 but not in 2005. When we went in October 2005 we had booked to go in the Castillo suites and requested the same room, however when we got there we were given a room in the San George (opposite the building site) because the suites were being re-furbished.
The animation team tried their best most nights up until midnight (right under our room) and were quite loud but we were so tired we slept anyway. The children enjoyed their efforts but the mini-disco played exactly the same records every night !
The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the beach, but we used the car to go all over the island instead and would advise you do the same. There are many excellent deserted beaches to discover if you only have the wheels.
We are not going again this year because we wanted to try somewhere different, but if we go to Fuerteventura again I would be happy to go to the Castillo suites again.

The room was cleaned everyday apart from Wednesday and Sunday and towels were replaced every other day (sometimes late at night!). The room was really nice, although our TV didn't work but I'm sure they would have fixed it if I'd asked. The pool area was lovely with sunbeds available all day (no need for setting an alarm to put towels on beds!). The hotel shop was handy but quite expensive, make use of the free bus service from the hotel to the Atlantico shopping centre where there is a Spar which is alot cheaper.
The entertainment was awful and was located directly below our room. It was so loud and continued until 1 am, luckily our children were so tired from swimming all day they would have slept through anything but still I thought it was excessively loud and mainly in Spanish - not a lot of use to us.
