This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

The resort was really clean and tidy. There is a small number of bars enabling you to have a different venue every night if you so wish, we visited a few during the day and early evening, but after eating we generally returned to the appt and enjoyed the entertainment on show.
I was disappointed with the man made beach we visited once and endured the rocky trip to the sea to 'dook' our toes but the kids were complaining of sore feet and we returned to the pool at the complex.
Could not find the energy to visit the other beach further round the path, although we were advised that it was worth the trek.
Price wise, you could pay 4 euro for a beer or you could pay 1.20 euro for a beer, it was up to you, as for eating again you can eat as cheap or expensive as you like, yes the exchange rate is low but hey you work all year for a break why not enjoy it.
will return to the resort possibly to same complex but may venture to another hotel/ appartment

If you go out in the morning to get your papers, you'll see all the cleaning going on around you - they like to keep this place clean!
As I was all inclusive, we didn't really venture very far during the evening, we'd pop out for a drink then go back to the hotel for the entertainment there - although the kids in our party had a go on the bungee trampolines which was 5 euros. They also both had their caricatures done by a street artist for 10 euros each.
The beach was gorgeous - horseshoe shape.
It is 9 euros for 2 sun beds & an umbrellaon the beach.
Definitely definitely would return here.

Family friendly resort. Beach clean and safe. All bars restaurants in close proximity and offer various choices.Fado Rock steakhouse and Slowboat chinese are recommended and also greek restaurant next to Fado steakhouse. Legends sports bar with Ken and Kelly is a must. Brilliant entertainment in the evenings there with Ken and Frank Mondays and Fridays and also Katy on a Saturday. Great atmosphere ,a real home from home.

Building work, roads under repair in the height of summer! - shops closed down but then where has this not happened in Spain or generally in Europe with the financial situation. The poor rate of exchange has not helped but neither has the increase in many prices in shops and bars. Resort shopping mall has empty shops now, getting a bit run down. Resort needs to be made more attractive. Not such a nice resort as it was 3 years ago.

Beach clean but was just a bit windy. We didn't realy spend anytime there, I would imagine the sand would get everywhere.

Caleta de Fueste is a small resort with very little to say in its favour. There are a couple of mediocre shopping centres and a scattering of sports bars but if it hadn't been for the excellent entertainment in the hotel we would have been bored silly. The resort is small and there are no others within easy reach. The place for a chill out holiday if you just want to lie on a sunbed or drink in the bar all day, but no good for anything else.

As for Caleta - well, this was our second time in the resort. Lots to do during the day - there is the main beach which is much nicer than some people would have you believe - very warm down there compared to the hotel pool too! There is also a nice beach near the Atlantico centre. There is a harbour where you can go fishing, diving, jet-skiing or on a submarine, and there are the windy rocks where you can breathe in the fresh Atlantic air and see some chipmunks if you're lucky!
We booked a couple of days out - we used Tourventura excursions (in the main "white" shopping centre opposite Nettos), cheaper than Thomas Cook's excursions and they're British. We went to Corralejo and the waterpark on the Friday (the girls paid for the waterpark, I just paid for the Corralejo market run, both trips on the same coach). We also went to Jandia on the Monday, nice but a bit "German"...
Last time we were in Caleta we stayed all-inclusive so we didn't get out much, this time I'm so glad we went self-catering and went out every night. We ate in some lovely places, tried a different one nearly every night. Fado Rock was the best, but we never had a bad meal anywhere. We went in Mambo's, Mexican Corner, Metropolis, La Bodeguita, O'Connors and tried a couple of Chinese restaurants. It wasn't cheap, prices were similar to eating out at home, but we'd looked forward to this holiday and weren't going to spoil it by whingeing about the price of things.
Most evenings we would head down to Piero's after our meal - the entertainment here is good, the staff are friendly and it was one of the busier places in the resort. It was very quiet everywhere during our holiday, I kind of felt sorry for some of the bars/restaurants opening every night for just a handful of customers. Piero's was busy during their shows, up to around 11-11:30pm but then people would start to drift off even though there was good karaoke there until 3am.
I would definitely recommend Piero's for an excellent night out! The Aladdin show was especially good for families (magic tricks, balloon modelling, flame-throwing, knife throwing etc) and for people who appreciate good live music you can't go wrong with the Guitar Heroes Tribute show or the Human Jukebox, both done by Brian Ransom and assisted by his son Matt. The Hypnosis show was also very good. The happy hour was 7:30-8:30pm and ALL drinks were half-price during this time - we stocked up on jugs of sangria at 4€ per jug!
After Piero's most nights we would wander over to the Flower of Scotland, also doing karaoke until 3am but with slightly cheaper drinks! This is where all the local Brits and the hotel reps go, and I can honestly say I've never met a friendlier bunch of people anywhere! We were made to feel so welcome and well looked after, I was almost in tears on our last night, and if there's any way I can manage another holiday later this year then I will definitely be back in Caleta!
