Didn't bother with the themed restaurant, the normal one was excellent.
Rooms in Main Hotel have more breeze and sea view. They are also closer to the main facilities

Try for pool view room. Some of the ground floor apartments at the rear of the complex didn't get any sun.
Don’t come here !!!

The Baku development is still only half way complete so the pavements between the hotel and the market entrance can be tricky with pushchairs. The water park and the market are both open, the water park is small but not overcrowded and good fun. There's also a Canarian restaurant tucked in around the back that serves high quality food. There were more staff than customers when we were there but it was brand new. Most of the quality restaurants cost about the same €65 for a family of four with wine. Some of the bars are a bit same same but the dining choices are very broad.
The sea can get a bit choppy outside the port so if you get sea-sick take precautions before doing a boat trip. Shop around for the best value trips as some are a bit over-priced.
There are reports of a few criminal elements in the port area at night but we saw none. All in all a nice resort for families.

Resort of Corralejo is very lively with lots restaurants and bars.
Beach not that good full of volcanic rocks with sand in between but good views of Lobos and Lanzarote.

We went to two beaches over the two weeks, one which was 5 minutes down the road. Nice a sandy loads of sunbeds, very relaxing, we saw loads of fish in the sea, the water was that clear!
The other one we reached by a 7 minute journey in a taxi only 4 euros. This beach had lush white sand and blue sea, also avilable on this beach were water activities.
I would definately recomend Oasis Dunas.

The resort is great, although with the building work going on will be better in a couple of years.
We found plenty of great places to eat or just for a few drinks in the evening.
The little local beach was great for the kids but a visit to the sand dunes is a must - what a fantastic beach!

I was very surprised by the town of corralejo. I thought it would be quiant and unspoilt small town but found it was a mini benidorm with people trying to get you in restaurants and bars all night a bit annoying really. There is a lot of building work going on all over the island I've no doubt it will be a very busy island in a few years time

We stayed in COrralejo. Pronounced corralacky for some weird reason. Resort was a forty minute coach ride from the airport. Passing the famous sand dunes on route. You had one main road for the town centre where you found all the bars/restaurants/pubs etc. Loads of shops (selling same things as usual) If you visit, venture further afield. When you get to the end of the main road, it bends round to the left and looks like it will go nowhere. Keep going, this is where we found a good selection of shops (sports shops etc) and a huge supermarket. Make sure to visit the BAKU waterpark. It is brilliant. Loads of slides and be sure to to on the Dark Cave its fantastic. A taxi from the town centre back to Atlantic Garden cost us 2 euros and 50 cents.

The resort was very clean with lots to see and do. Plenty of places to eat and drink although you do get a bit of hastle from the people outside them trying to get you to go in!! La Tasca looked to be very popular as there was queues outside every night and no one to hastle you! You could walk right through the town as far as the harbour were the sand sculptures could be seen. The beach is very clean and the sea lovely although the loungers are a bit pricey. We didnt go to the dunes as we heard it was very breezy and the sand blew everywhere with little shade but on a calm day it looked lovely.I found Correlejo to be a lovely resort and would go back.

The resort
So, the resort itself, well, there is one main St, which goes all the way down to the old town. This was once a small fishing village, which has a small beach, all the usual tourist tat shops and some very nice fish restaurants together with all the usual brit bars, Irish bars & karaoke bars. All of which you can ram. But in amongst it we did find some nice places so it wasn’t all together Blackpool in the sun.
We ate at the Mexican restaurant, which was well worth it, really nice. Also La Tasca on the main St, you won’t be disappointed with the mixed grill there. My girlfriend had it & I had to help her out with it! Massive portion & served on its own BBQ at your table!
The beaches
Well if you stay in resort or the appt you will have missed out! We hired a car & went to them all the time! The best ones are on the dunes. You can catch a bus (The No 6 from Corellejo – Puerto Rosario) every half-hour. Costs 1 euro each & ask for “LA Playa” The bus will stop at the 2 big German RUI hotels & you can walk 200mtrs to the beaches. Alternatively stay on the bus & travel a bit further down, pick a beach & ask to be let off. We hired a car & stopped wherever we wanted!
Transport
We hired a car from Orlando Rentals on the main St in Correlejo. We had a VW Golf with AC & PS for £42 for 3 days – bargingo! We hammered it, covered nearly 600kms travelling all over the island right down to the south. It was great.
Otherwise, catch the buses., all cheap enough. Downfall is that you will have to make connections in the main town of Puerto Rosario where there really is nothing to see!
Sights
We went in land to Betencuria & other inland towns & villages. Worth it. Don’t bother with any of the sxxx excursions your reptile try’s to force down your throat. We didn’t even bother with the *****y welcome meet! Pointless. You can do them all on your own with car & map!! Petrol is £2.60 a gallon!
Another trip, which is worth it, is to see the wreck of the SS American Star, which ran aground several years ago. Real ghostly or what! Pick up any tourist map/pamphlet/newspaper & you will find it, keep your eyes peeled for the signs & you won’t be disappointed! Took a while to get to it, & the VW suffered a bit! It’s at the end of a 4-mile dirt track in its own little cove/beach
Caleta de Fuste
This resort is worth a visit, although purpose built the beach & sea is very nice. Sea very shallow here so good for kids although very slippy.
El Cortillo
Sleepy fishing village with good beach & 1 nice new harbour - & the old one too! Worth a morning visit to see the fishermen chatting on the harbour side. Good beach
Villa Verde
Inland, nice drive through to see, few places to eat. Interesting landscape & buildings
Betancuria
Old administrative capital, historic & pleasant – worth it to see.
Nightlife in Correlejo
Well there are the brit bars & clubs if you want it, also karaoke too. Not my bag baby. Nice restaurants, good fish & nice bars, which the locals tend to use, are I think the best. For real chintz and that local pub feel head for the old town & on the front hey presto a brit “pub” so memorable I forget the name. Pub singer on every night. Funny as ***** in a cheese styleee.
For gods sake don’t even bother with Sadie’s Cabaret drag bar. Absolute load of toss. *****y drag artiste, *****y jokes & overpriced drinks. No air con either, absolute sxxx. No wonder Sadie is tucked away abroad coz no UK “club” would run with such a toss act. Do me a favour & stay there!
Anyways, the island is great. I love it & will return even to Los Alisios. You won’t have bad time.
