The hotel was great it was really clean. The maid visited daily. The food was really nice and there was plenty of salads and vegetarian dishes on the menu. The location of the hotel was great too. It is situated on a hill and you have a great view in the day and in the night. The hotel staff were really nice too. As to the stray cats they hated them being there and theytried to scare them away. The entertainment was really really good too. Adam, one of the entertainers was really funny and the kids just could not leave him alone. He always found something for the kids to do. Adrian, another of the entertainers was really friendly and nice. Also there was Brandon, who was really nice too (and a good singer). i would defenately visit this hotel again. we only went for a week this time and we thoroughly enjoyed it so we have decided to revisit the colina mar hotel for two weeks next year

colina mar is the best. i have had the greastest holiday ever. the entertainment was brilliant, nothing has ever come close to the exciting week i have had! if you have children and are looking for a fun holiday, i really advise you to stay at the colina mar.

adam and brandan the two entertainers are brilliant. every body loves them. every child are friends of these two. they are great with the children and get them all involved in the adtivities and games they do! adults get invoved and every one has a laught, every minute of the day and night they would have people dancing and singing, playing all there great games! they have lots of quiz's and there is always prizes to be won. i went with a large group of people and every single one of us loved it, we will most certainly will be going back!

the colina mar has the most beautiful veiw of the beach. it is right on the top of a cliff and nothing is to far away! there is a taxi rank straight out side the hotel and cost only 3euros to get to the main part of the town. there is plenty of night life and thousands of places to eat. about 10minutes away from the hotel is a water park which is great fun for the childern. the places are not expenceive at all. and there is loads to do!

the food in the colina mar is prepared to a high standard and offers a wide rang of choice. i went self catering at the hotel but still paid daily to eat at there! the staff where always pleasant and polite.

the only down fall about the place was there where a few cats about, not many, but i did see a few walking past the pool. but they didnt cause any harm they where easily scared away.

over all the colina mar is an excelent place to stay. accomandation, entertainment, food and weather was all brilliant.

We visited the Colina Mar in June 2004, it is the best holiday we have ever had. The Kids and adults are entertained from 11 O. clock through to Midnight, entertainment is fantastic, and Adam and Brendan were wonderful, the kids loved them, they are fantastic with kids and they are good at their jobs.

The room was cleaned nearly every day by a maid.

The location of this hotel is so beautiful and so relaxing. We are looking to go back here in June 2005. We had a couple of meals here in the evening, very good, but the Pizza by the pool were fantastic and only cost

This is by far the most friendly hotel I,ve ever stayed in,we were entertained day and night.

Adam worked tirelessly,knew everybody's names and always willing to chat or offer advice. Evening entertainment varied and of good quality.

Location great,fantastic views,only 2 minute walk to Europa centre and 3 euros in taxi to beach and main resort centre.

This was our second visit and brought friends with us this time and they loved it just as much as we did. Age range of our group was 8-38 and we each enjoyed this holiday as much as each other,something for everyone.

Huge pool(heated in winter),loads going on all day,very easy to meet people and invariably we all ended up in the hotel bar everynight for drinks,rarely any queue,very friendly service and very large measures of spirits,needed for dutch courage to join in all the entertainment.

Food was adequate,never had any complaints,kids always found something they liked,but very cheap to eat out at the numerous restaurants in the resort.

Yes the rooms are a little shabby,but cleaned regularly and you only sleep in them after all.

All sad to go home but will definately be back very soon.

We have just come back from Colina Mar and had a brilliant holiday.
The swimming pools were great and the entertainment round the pool was brill, already missing the pool quiz at 1 pm every day !!
Kurt and Adrian the entertainers are fantastic, with children of all ages and also the adults.
The bar staff are really friendly and its good having two lots of happy hour every night!
Woul definetely visit again....and i only saw I cat!!

We had a fantastic time at the Colina Mar! This was definately one of our best holidays.

The hotel was nowhere near 5 star but it was very clean and the staff where fantastic.
Food was ok but we ate out a lot as we where self catering anyway.It is very hard to find decent veggie food anywhere though!There are a few all you can eat places,but the veggie stuff was still lacking.Loads of good food for others though!

The colina mar is right at the top of a valley which looks worrying but its no problem getting about because taxis are so cheap.(some of the drivers dont drive too safely though!)

There was always plenty of entertainment going on and if you stay 2 weeks you dont see the same thing twice which is very good.

Yes there are wild cats roaming the place but they are no bother at all.This might have something to do with the fact that we didnt see a single cocroach during our stay.Id rather see the wild cats than cocroaches or mice!

The beach is the best beach i have ever been to! (Amadores beach).It has lovely clean sand and a very safe area of water which has barriers.
All in all we had a fantastic time and i would definately visit there again.

The apartments were a disgrace and in total disrepair. There were bits of walls falling down, cockroaches everywhere, also lots of cats and birds.

The food was awful, and they had the hot buffet area outside, which meant that cats and birds would then sit and eat from the trays, as well as what should be hot food, normally being cold. Drinks were expensive too.

The location was really bad, as you were situated right a the top of a steep mountain/hill. And, although you were able to walk down to the beach and shopping area, there is no way you would walk back up, so you always needed to get a taxi or a bus. Can't see that this would really make it a very good choice for families with young children or elderly people.

The staff were mainly friendly, although some were not.

My family went to Colina Mar on the 5th January 2004 and we had the best time ever.

The whole hotel is wonderful. My brothers and I went out at night time down to the pool and it was excellent because you have all the privicy of no other hotels looking over you and you have a splendid view!

You have to go to this hotel! WE LOVED IT!!

Just come back from the Colina Mar, our second visit in 2 years and we absolutely love it. We will be going back again next year. Jez the entertainer is new this year and he was brilliant, he not only keeps the children happy he also looks after the adults.
We had entertainment every night which included Lionel Ritchie ( Charles Gold), Adam Marks (Robbie Williams) who was just excellent and lots more. Also at the Europa centre about 5 mins away you can see Elvie Presley, Kylie Minogue, The Drifters, Tina Turner and lots more.

You cannot fault the food at Colina Mar there is everything there you could want and all the staff were brilliant.

Only saw 1 stray cat around the hotel, it is not overun with them like somebody else mentions.

Having been to The Colina Mar twice before and having a great relaxing time....
We are returning this year with some friends and our ever growing brood of a mixture of our own children and their friends....
I have actually posted on here before and I think I said that although basic the rooms were clean and adequate...(maid service daily)...
I have just read the comments of ianc1 and felt I had to reply...( what a whinging snob he sounds!!)
Firstly regarding the cats...yeah we saw a few but they were no bother and the staff certainly dont ever feed them nor do they approve of anyone (even the brits as we r supposedly a naton of animal lovers) feeding them either...
Thats not the reason I had to reply though....I havent a clue how on earth he can say that the restaurant staff werent friendly or that they were rude???? Beats me...They have got to be the most friendly people ever...Always smiling, very curtious and helpfull.... MAYBE ,,,Just maybe it is the attitude of the people they are serving.....I guess if they repeatably treated as second class, workin class servants and spoken to rudely themselves.. Then the charm may just wear off... As I say we treated them as we wanted to be treated ourselves....With manners, and a smile.... ..oh and as for a vegatarian option at meal times......There was always an ample choice of salads and always a veggie option...I suppose there is just NO pleasing some people!!
Maybe this winging Victor Meldrew would be better off elsewear...Lets hope so..Cause...IF anything is going to spoil your holiday its going to be bumping into a moaning ninny like him.......

We are booked in to go back to Colina Mar in July....cant wait to see all those friendly faces, especially Tony, Nata, Juan,Danny,James Bond (laffin) Tulli and all the rest.....
Like I said......Great people....Just some times I think we forget they arent servants.... Just real people doing a job!!! and at the Colina Mar they do it so well...
Fantastic place....Excellent views....safe complex for teenagers (they have their own little bit of sanctuary in a room with teenagery stuff) to have a tiny bit of freedom away from us oldies...But where we can still keep an eye out on them and feel safe!!! Lets face it if the children are happy...So are we!!! ...Theres even a quiet pool area for the adults to escape to if the entertainment isnt to your liking and u would like some peace!!
Well there ya go.just my opinions and I can assure you....I have manners and am curtious and NOT a tattoo in sight ( NOT that I think there is anything wrong with body art!!! )
