well what can i say after reading some of the reviews i did not know what to expect when i got there but i am happy to say the negative ones were wrong for us
the rooms where clean and very spaceius the food was good and the staff where cheerfull
the hotel lived up to its 3 stars and we had a great holiday and would go back
i think the the people what gave the ficus a bad review came from the planet moan

what a gem, we arrived apprehensive because of reports we had read, but the rooms were very nice, food was exceptional, if you couldn't find food to suit you out of the selection on offer, god help you!!!.
the entertainment staff, sarah & helen just wanted everyone to have fun, and we did.
we met some super people and will be keeping in touch.
have booked to go to ficus again in september, thats how good it is.

Arrived back on the 14th December with very mixed feelings about this holiday. The Thomas Cook flights were excellent and on time even with the Manchester weather to contend with. The transfers were messed up going to the hotel but this was very quickly sorted out.
Now for the Ficus Apartments we have very mixed feelings. The Apartments are spacious and very clean as is the rest of this small hotel. The pool area and restaurant was very well looked after. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Unfortunately the food was a mixed bag. For the first 3 days it was excellent however the next few days it became like slop. We suspect that the chef alternates with the Ficus's sister hotel the Trebol Apartments [please look up this Hotel and compare] where according to the feedback the food can be terrible. We asked guests who had been there a few days, when our food had declined and they said there's was fine.If you want to watch sky [or any] TV in your room it will cost you 3 euros a day however expect to lose all the UK channels by 7pm. When I asked the Rep. and the receptionist I was told it was because of the tilt of the Earth? However all the local bars and expats [I asked a few] can receive it without any problems. Tilt of the Earth,come on.
This was a low price all inclusive [inc. drinks] holiday so please expect other problems. There were certainly a few of them.We do not intend to return to this hotel. Hope this helps.

The hotel was lovely the entertainment was great food was ex[ected mainly the same everyday the pool was nice a and kept clean everyday,the maids only clean every 3days which was a bit dissapointing,our flight with thomas cook was delayed for 9hours so was inmpressed but the holiday and the hotel was fab x

Hotel pool was very clean, apartment clean, so called restaurant was sticky and grubby what ever you touched and so was entertainment room.
Now we come to the food, the food was diabolical if you were lucky it was warm and bland, it says hot snacks all day, if you like cold chips hard cold pizza, stale cobs and what looked like left over

There was plenty of variation with the food something for everyone.The Ficus is very clean the staff work so hard.It,s a short walk to the shops and beach which is lovely.Some of the staff could smile a bit morre but others were really nice!Entertainment was good Dave and Lynn involved everyone,they were great fun.Met some brilliant new friends who we will keep in touch with,had a great time a great laugh and a great holiday.Many Thanks to everyone we met and all at the Ficus.(The security gaurd is a pain telling everyone to get to bed!Think he forgot we were on holiday and not in a Concentration camp!)

the hotel was very clean and comfortable, apartments very large, all public area were very clean and well maintained. some people complained about food being boring but we found plenty of choice and the food was always fresh and not left standind on the buffet bar for ages. The hotel was well located, close to amenities but not so close as to get any disturbances. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, Lucre was a great barman and all the bar staff were friendly. WE found the entertainment to be good, a mime artiste one night who was brilliant, brazillian dancers very sexy!!! comical slinky man and russian type dancing.. Then there were Dave and Lynn who were an excellent pair for the entertainment and loads of fun and games. Always coming up with something new, pyjama party, st trinians . They worked so hard to make everybody feel at home . I wonder where they get there energy from. full marks to them for 100% effort.

well what can i say all the reviews that give 2 or anythin less than 8 is obviously people who have nothing better to do than complain about anything they can.
the only bad point was that the hotel was a bit out of the town it took me and my boyfriend about 10mins to walk to the beach which was fine but this hotel is prob not suitable for older people but the hotel had a good mix of young couples old couples and families.
the food had a good mix the only thing i found was that a lot of fish was put on and i dont like fish but i never went hungry and there was bread chicken chips pasta and vegetables on every lunch and dinner.
there was always enough sunbeds around the pool and the pool area was kept clean and tidy.
the maids came in everyday except a friday and sunday and they cleaned the room to perfection the beds were made every morning and they even folded my pyjamas.
there was always entertainment throughout the day around the pool including a quiz, killerpool and even a lilo competition. entertainmentg of a night was just as good starting with childrens disco then bingo and then a show at the end. we had a jim carrey style visual comedian and a brazilian show just to name a few.
all in all i cann only say good things for this hotel and would recomend any1 to go there we had a reali good time.

The hotel is in a good place, not too far from the beach, shops and bars.
the maids came in are room to clean once maybe twice in the seven days we was there.
i found the reps ignorant, we met another young couple at the hotel and in the week we were there they hadnt spoke to the four of us until our last day when they said hello.
the food was pritty much as expected- chicken chips & pasta for lunch & tea everyday,but when your catering for that many i guess its expected. it was edible.
The bar staff and hotel staff were exellent, they work sooo hard in that place. working all hours day & night!

we came lanzarote in september 2008 with our nearly 2 year old girl. we had such a great time the hotel was in perfect location n never had any trouble whilst we where their the food was good and they did themed nights sunday was roast day and on our last night we had mexican feast.
our daughter made loads of new friends including a couple lorraine and who absolutley doted on her we met a couple the same age with daughters the same age as ours and had a great holiday would definatley repeat it! x
