The food wasn't brilliant but nothing that would kill you, just a bit boring and repetitive. There was a problem with the water being off for a few hours but as this was caused by a street main having to be replaced it was hardly the hotels fault and not really the end of the world, the staff were always polite and helpful.
Katherine and Johnny were great and always very entertaining, especially good with the kids, and the rep Helen was also very helpful.

Drinks - choice of 6 spirts, beer or soft drinks!
Apartments - large, basic, with a step in the middle! not childfriend. Bedroom is at the back, unless you are the end apartment everyone has to pass your apartment to get to theirs,at night people aren't always quiet, and there are no nets or voile, so if you want light in your bedroom, you have to accept everyone can very your bedroom.
Would never go back or travel with Thomas Cook again.

We had asked for 2 rooms on the ground floor and were put in 2 different apartment blocks, one on the 3rd floor and one on the ground. This was changed the next day and we got an apartment on the ground floor right next door to my mum and overlooking the pool.
The complex itself was quite small, but i liked that, and it meant everyone around the pool got to know each other. Jonny and Simon were great at keeping everyone entertained, but felt they could have done more for the kids in the absence of a kids club apart from kids hour in the evening.
It was the first time we'd gone all inclusive and we weren't disappointed. The food was fabulous and very varied. Much better than the 4* place i'd stayed at on my previous holiday. No complaints about the free booze either...especially the cocktails by the pool!!
There is black waste ground on either side of the hotel, but so what...it's just 5 mins to the shops and the rest of the resort.
Overall? If you want a relaxing week of lazing by the pool and not have to worry about food and watching what you spend then this is the perfect place for you. It was exactly what we were looking for so we enjoyed it very much and would definitely go back.

We were impressed by the apartments when we checked in, the reception staff all speak English and are really helpful.
We had a room on the 3rd (top) floor, not so good to lug our suitcases up but well worth it as we had a very sunny balcony most of the day and no noise from other people running around above us!
The rooms are nice, with Self catering facilities as i believe the apartments were self catering a few years ago. they are a bit tired but just what i expected so no problems there (although twin beds arent the best for a young couple they seem to be standard abroad).
The pool bar served drinks and icecreams all day and the entertainment bar all night until 11.30, when its time to hit Legends!
I can happily recommend the Swan for a good english breakfast and legends do a nice lasagne as well as sarnies and snacks.
Our favorite place to eat on the island is the Lanis Cantina Tex Mex. the steaks are fabulous and we only found this place on the last but one night of our holiday but ate there both nights once we'd found it. Amazing. it is just up the road from the main beach.
The reason that i list nice places to eat is that we found the food horrible at the Ficus. the first 4 days were ok, nothing special but edible food i guess but on the 5th day i was struck down with a vile stomach bug, which several people seemed to suffer from whilst we were there, and my boyfriend also got it a few days later. there is a doctor on the island that you dont have to pay for (if you have your E111 card) ask at the Pharmacy at the bottom of the road if you need it, they are very helpful. People have said that the food is excellent but i cant understand how they can say this, i'm not a snob or anything and when i read previous reviews saying the food was bad i chose not to listen and thought that them people must have too high expectations or something. i wish now that i had listened and taken more money so that we could eat out every day.
Jonny and simon the entertainment team are great (i personally found simon really annoying but thats just me and he did try really hard, too hard probably! Sorry Simon!), but they really made our holiday one of the best ever. there was always something going on for my boyfriend to get involved in, Pool, darts, lilo races, giant jenga, quizzes and of course towel twister (my boyfriend is now a 'superstar' after winning that game!). this was good as it left me free to enjoy the sun without him moaning that he was bored. most of the entertainment was geared towards adults and older kids but that suited us perfectly. Jonny it wont be the same without you when you leave!
Our rep Carley left whilst we were there to go and work for another company but she was really good, helping us to rearrange our Catlanza trip as i was ill when we were meant to go on it. She even phoned me in the evening to see how i was! really nice rep and very helpful.
We made loads of friends and were sad to see them go at the end of our first week, the second week was quiet but meant we came back refreshed and relaxed!
i recommend that you go on the Catlanza boat trip and the Volcanic Escape. both trips were amazing but i wont go into detail about them, you can find out for yourself!
Costa Teguise is quiet but we have been before so knew what to expect. the beach is lovely although we spent all of our time by the pool this time.
All in all, an excellent holiday and we would return to the Ficus, we'd just make sure we had the money to eat out every night!

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. The food was rubbish and at times disgusting after the third day gave up trying to find anything edible so we ate out.
Drinks were plentiful and of good quality.
The entertainment staff Johnny and Simon did a good job it was never boring by the pool, in the evenings there was bingo with good prize money and a show of some sort, for the price we paid(just over 200)it was good and we weren't disappointed but if your expecting anything above a 2 star don't bother going.

What can we say about the food, we had no complaints at all. You never went hungry and the choice was great. They did serve french fries, pasta, fresh salad, fresh fruit, pasta sauces, fish, 2 different meats, another type of potato e.g. mashed, garlic slices, roast, cold choices like potato salad, coleslaw, meats, cheeses, different bread rolls, and puds.
Each night they cooked a meat or fish fresh in front of you. Other dishes like meats in sauces were also served. This was the same for lunch, but you had the choice, you didn't have to live of chips and pasta - I myself only had chips once in the 2 weeks we were there.
Each night was a different food theme, the Mexican was our favorite.
The location of the hotel was good even though it was surrounded by waste land - you were only 5 Min's from the shops and 7 Min's from the beach.
The walks were very easy although the pavements were uneven. You could cut across the wasteland if you wore sensible shoes.
Lynn and Harry (no longer there now), the entertainers were great. They didn't force you to do anything you didn't want to do, they were fun and very friendly.
They did a quiz in the morning by the pool, followed by a 'You bet' challenge then returned in the afternoon for a game of footy, volley ball, snooker, table tennis or water polo.
The evenings started with a kids disco and games, then bingo sales and Not the Nine O'clock news, then big cash bingo and then entertainment - it was good.
