After reading all the negative reviews of this hotel I was quite worried about going there, although my new husband had been twice before. However, I had no need to be concerned.

The hotel was very clean. I only saw 2 cockroaches, both of which were near the pool late at night. Our room was spotless, although could probably have benefited from a lick of paint. We had a sea view which was lovely and the room wasn't cold, but cool enough at night to be able to sleep comfortably.

We had booked half board and the food was really good, although as someone else has said, the fluorescent green mousse stuff looked a bit dubious. There was plenty of choice for both breakfast and dinner. We actually made a mistake booking half board though because if we had booked self catering and upgraded to half board when we got there, we could have saved ourselves about 300 pounds.

The pool area was really nice and kept very clean. There was always plenty of sunbeds and plenty of space.

As for the entertainment, I really can't say much as we went out almost every night. The Bulldog pub is fantastic, and if you go to see the drag act Beax's and Belles, say hello to Michael for me.

The hotel staff seemed to be friendly and helpful, but the Airtours rep could do with smiling a bit more. We had to report a broken plug socket and it was fixed within a couple of hours.

The location of this hotel couldn't be better. It's right on the beach and close to all the shops, bars and restaurants.

Just arived back, and all we can say is absolutely brilliant place to stay.

Its clean in the room and around the pool / reception area, its in a perfect location only 5 minutes from the beach, there was always loads of sunbeds / space around the pool area.

We ate out everynight and would highly recommend the Casa Blanca which was just around the corner from the hotel.

No more to say except, you will not be disappointed if you stay at the Puerto Tahiche.

Hi my husband and I stayed at the Puerto Tahichie in February 2006 and had a fabulous time, after reading some of the negative reports about this hotel we wondered what people wanted, maybe they should travel Blue ribbon or Al A Carte as we found it to be excellent.

The only thing we found to be awful was the entertainment someone commented that maybe the hotel wanted people to go out as nearly everyone was on all inclusive.

The rep for My Travel was Elaine she had been on the island for 22 years, we found her to be very dull, the only time she nearly smiled was if anyone booked a trip with her. If you do decide to go on any excursions don't book at reps meeting check with the hotel as they cover some of the trips and it is much cheaper. The Sunday market was 14 euros with the rep and 8 euros with reception. The carnival was on whilst we were there it was half price from reception compared to the rep.

The pool area was kept spotless, we never had any trouble getting a bed which were free, we even pinched a sun bed to put on our balcony as we were overlooking the pool and we had the sun on our balcony all day it was a real good sun trap. People who had a sea view said the rooms were very cold and were asking to be moved, so ask for a pool view when you book.

The food was excellent there were pancakes and you could have your eggs done however you wanted the chef cooked them to order.

We found the hotel was in a great position it was central for everything, beach was a stones throw away and it was beautiful the sun beds cost 8euros for 2 beds and a brolly.

If we went back to Lanzarote we would not stay in Puerto Teguise as it was far too quiet, we visited Puerto Del Carmen and it was far better than Teguise.

There was a bar opposite the hotel called The Bull Dog my hubby said it was the best pint (Carling not local) every night they had something different on there was a drag act called Boes and Belles we saw four shows at the Bull and each one was different.

Check your baggage allowance as we were completely ripped off with ours we booked two weeks before we went so had to pick the tickets up from the airport so thinking it was 20 kilo allowance we packed as normal it was 15 kilos and the charge is 6euros for every kilo you are over. One lady had to pay

We arrived to find a very busy reception, everyone was queueing up to complain. Not a very good greeting!

We were allocated our room on the 2nd floor. It was basic and needed updating badly, but we hadn't paid top price for our holiday and you get what you pay for. The bathroom was the worst and I spent a good hour cleaning it! The room had a television which did not work, we asked if they would change it. By the end of the week we had three televisions in our room (none worked! The biggest problem we had in our room was Brown water and a constant buzzing noise!)

The staff on reception were grumpy and unfriendly.

The stairs leading to the entertainment area were all cordoned off with tape where the glass had been removed, Not very safe for little ones! Not that we used the entertainment area, my children were too old for the junior disco and that was the sum total of entertainment.(Apart from watching the rugby game in the bar.)

The pool area was lovely, we did not have to fight for beds or positions near the pool, lots of room and pretty clean too.

The hotel was positioned in a beautiful spot, but all the gates leading to the beach area and bars/cafes were locked and grubby. We did see a few cockroaches (Yuk) but not in our apartment.

We came home brown, but we don't know if it was a suntan or from the brown water in our room which never improved! I must add we never saw a rep in our hotel, she never came near. We even had to go to the airport on the coach on our own. I don't think she was impressed with this hotel either!

Very central, apartment lovely, overlooking sea with big veranda.

Facilities in apartment virtually new. Rooms very spacious, towels changed regularly and beds very clean. Disappointed with TV. Only paid for one night. There were no English channels apart from CNN & sky overseas. Chilly at night in apartment could have done with some kind of heating.

Rep there every day except Sunday which was good if needed.

Looking forward to going back to the same apartments.

Reps trips very expensive so didn't use them apart from a trip to the Sunday market.

Did not eat in hotel so can't comment.

I have just returned from these apartments. As far as I'm concerned these apartments are spotless and we had a great room overlooking the pool and the hotel itself was very central to all the local amenities.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The entertainment is very good as well, there are various activities for the children and there is always something on for the adults in the bar area every night.

I would definitely visit the hotel again I had a truly fantastic holiday.

I was on holiday with my sister-in-law. We arrived late on the evening but the staff were very friendly, could have done with more than one on the desk.

Rooms were basic but clean and adequate, lovely view overlooking the beach.

Location was ideal close to shops and beach.

The one problem we had with the shower was dealt with within an hour of reporting it.

Food was excellent, could not fault it in any way.

I would certainly visit this hotel again.

We arrived at the hotel at around 8pm and once we checked in at reception which took about 20 mins due to the amount of holiday makers staying we went on to our room which was on the other side of the main pool area which looked great all lit up.

Once in the room which was on the 1st floor (2 small flights of stairs) overlooking the pool area we were surprised at the size of it. The main living/kitchen area very nice, basic and very clean. Microwave, kettle and toaster all in perfect working order. Fridge and electric hob also in good working order.

TV costs a euro an hour or 3 euros for 24 hours.Take a small radio it's cheaper.

The bathroom in our eyes could of done with a new bath it was a bit worse for wear but ok if you just take showers plenty of hot water, other than than that it's fine.

The bedroom was also fine plenty of storage space. Spare pillows in the wardrobe as we found out 2 days in.Result...

Great balcony overlooking the pool with table and chairs. The room itself was cleaned 5 days out of 7 fresh towels on all occasions. The cleaning staff are very polite.

The location of the hotel is ideal and will suit everyones taste the beach is a stones throw away.

We didn't have very much to do with the hotel staff but they seemed very nice and polite especially the childrens entertainment team who seeemed to do a great job in organising events for them to give the parents a break, day & night. Well done.

The hotel itself has it's own bars the tropical bar for during the day which is by the pools for food and drinks and they have special events such as bbq lunches for a small fee & how to make paella & sangria
which was quite funny. You will have to see for yourselves. In the evening the brandy well pub is the place to be for entertainment.

Dont have any reservations about going. We cant wait to go back next year.

After reading the reviews before we went were a bit worried but kept an open mind. It has to be said we had a wonderful holiday here.

OK the rooms were basic, but were cleaned nearly every day as were towels and sheets, and lets face it, just how much time do you spend in the room? It was half term when we stayed and we had no trouble getting a bed by the pool.

The hotel entertainment staff kept our 2 boys (11 and 8 yrs) entertained during the day, and as for people saying the pool was too cold, if I went in every day then believe me it mustn't be!

All in all a great holiday and we would definatley go back there.
