We stayed at the Puerto Tahiche apts in July 2005 and would go back again tomorrow.

The accommodation is basic, but you don't spend mush time inside.

The location is first class, close to the beach, the bars & restaurants. You must go to the Lighthouse and hear Robbo!

The kids enjoyed the kids club which was on almost every day, sometimes twice and the entertainment team were excellent.

The reps were readily available, but not that helpful unless you were booking trips. They didn't even mention at the welcome meeting that you can pay to eat in the hotel restaurant. We only discovered their fantastic breakfasts 2 days before we left.

All in all, it was a brilliant, relaxing holiday and we will definitely go back one day.

Before me and my boyfriend went to the Puerto Tahiche we were very worried about this hotel as a lot of reports that we read said that it wasn't a nice place. We arrived quite late on Thursday night and the receptionist even rang the hotel restaurante to keep them open for a little bit longer so that we could eat. We were staying half board and found that the food was fine. The choice could have been a little bit better in the evening but we were very impressed with the breakfast selection. We are fussy eaters so most people would probably be happy with the selction of foods that they had there.

The hotel room was very spacious and was cleaned every day exept for Tuesdays and Sundays as these are the days that the cleaners have off. If you ran out of clean towels or toilet paper the receptionists always did their best to provide you with what you needed straight away, however we did have to ask twice but this only happened once. You do have to pay extra for the t.v but it's easy as there is just a coin slot in the t.v. I think a euro gave you an hour from what I remember. The balcony was large and had two sunbeds.

We saw about 5 cockroaches in our room the whole time that we were there. We saw none outside. If you do have a problem with them just go to the recpetion ad ask for some spray for your room. We did this and the man came up straight away and did it for us. We didn't see a single cockroach after that.

The reception area, and hotel bar were lovely and spacious and gave out a great holiday feel. The restaurante was very big and never felt overcrowded when eating.

The swimming pool was lovely and big but extremely cold. This didn't seem to stop most people going in though. The sunbeds were all taken by half 9 as holiday makers seemed to wait and grab them as soon as possible. We didn't like to stay by the pool all day and we found usually when we came back at about 4.30 in the afternoon, there were some beds free.

All the staff at the Puerto Tahiche were extremely friendly and helpful but we did find the the english reps didn't want to help you as much as they should have. We decided not to do much through them as they tend to rip you off a bit.

The entertainment at this hotel was very good, especially if you have children. The kids reps there were fantastic and the kids loved them. Every night there was a show on for them at the bar until 11pm and after that the entertainment moved on to the pub where the adults could go. The kids reps had activities going every daytime for the kids too and we always so them about face painting etc.

The Puerto Tahiche is right next to the beach and shops so we thought the location of this hotel was brilliant. There are two ways of getting to the beach from the hotel one being longer than the other if you fancy a walk.

Check in was extremely fast for us but we were the only ones checking in at the time. Checking out took a little bit longer but still very quick. The luggage room does tend to fill up quickly so if you do want your luggage in the room I'd check out as early as possible. My boyfriend and I checked out at 10.45am and our suitcase was left in the main lobby along with lots of others for the whole day but this was still fine for us.

This was our first holiday away together and overall it was brilliant. Everything was lovely at this hotel and we'd definitely visit again!

Just returned from Puerto Tahiche Apartments and I cant say anything bad about them. We had a great time, the kids really enjoyed themselves kids reps are great.

Hotel is basic, but cleaned 5 days a week and beds changed at least 3 times a week. Didnt eat at the restaurant but did eat at the pool bar bbq on Fridays is a must. Location of apartments excellent right beside the beach. Pool area lovely plenty of trees, only complaint here is not well signposted enough how deep water is 7ft at times.

Entertainment very family orientated which was great for us kids 7 and 3 years loved the mini disco every night then the bingo not my cup of tea but they loved it then Flamenco or brazilian dancing or magician etc great entertainment.

Would definately return to these apartments agin in a couple of years.

When we first reached the apartments I was anxious. Reading all the previous reports had given me the jitters.

We were allocated our room and the comments came flooding back. Room 2206A had a great view but the bathroom smelt of urine. Back I went to reception and they gave us another room. Much better.

The rooms themselves were a bit basic and 'patched up' but livable. I suppose it's all about what each individual can tolerate. We went to the local supermarket and bought some disinfectant and the like and did a bit of cleaning ourselves. 15-20 minutes out of your day isn't that big a deal. At least then it is done to your standard.

Didn

Cleaners was in every other day so was pretty clean all the time, the bath was a little rusty looking but was soon sorted after a request from us,We had a few cockroaches over the 2 weeks but nothing major, the hotel staff gave us a large tin of spray to keep them away and it worked a treat.

we went self-catering tho we did have a few meals in the complex which was absolute superb food.

The location was spot-on, right by the beach and there are shops /Bars /Restaraunts everywhere you turn.

The hotel staff was great & the reps was too.

Entertainment well what can i say, in the hotel they have a mini-disco every night for the kids & more entertainment after it finishes as well, The kids loved it and so did we!

Our apartment was clean and well equipped and the rest of the hotel facilities were too.

The restaurant was good value and offered a good choice of fresh and hot meals. The swimming pools were very cold but the children loved them nonetheless and the poolside was clean and well maintained, with plenty of free sunloungers available.

The entertainment provided was very good for families, however the entertainment area itself was upstairs and had a dangerous flight of steps right by the stage and dancefloor. This meant taking shifts sitting on the steps to make sure the children were safe- and spoilt what otherwise would have been relaxing evenings.

The location was wonderful and luckily we had a room overlooking the beach.

We would have no hesitation in returning ...but only if the entertainment area was made safe!

I was in a state of panic after reading the reviews covered on this site but it turned out to be a really lovely week.

Our apartment was on the ground floor just a stones throw from the pool area. Our accommodation consisted of a living/kitchen dinning area, bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen had a toaster, electric kettle, microwave and fridge, all of which looked brand new. There was also a two ring hob. The only thing I could find to pass comment on was that there was only one plug socket which was located above the draining board so all appliances had to be moved up to it. Not necessarily a problem though. Maybe it would be worth taking an extension lead??!! The bathroom was very clean, it looked as though it had recently been tiled. There was a shower over the bath which actually had some power to it not like the usual showers that just trickle. Clean towels were provided daily (apart from maid

After reading previous reports we were a a bit aprehensive but as soon as we got there all our worries were gone.

The apartments were spacious and clean.

The pools were kept nice and clean and the garden area was lovely.

We didn't actually eat here or use the entertainment but overall we have had a fantastic holiday.

We arrived here on the 18th of February after booking to stay in Lanzarote Bay but room was in a terrible mess an leaking ceilings ect .....

On arrival seemed much better, went to room floors were very dirty. Mattresses were very boney and stained. The sofa in the living area was very dirty. Full of crumbs and lifted up cushions to find a lot of sweet wrappers.

The bedside cabinet draws were full of sweet and chocolate wrappers too!!!!!! Went to see the rep who requested the room to have a good clean the morning after which it was but only brushed out !!!

The patio furniture on balcony looked like it hadn't ever been wiped down. The television you have to put euros in too. No hairdryer in room. Ants in the rooms ,just generally needed a good clean and gutting out.

Pool area was a nice size but yet again not very clean we were there 6 nights and only saw them them rinsing down around the pool once.

The entertainment was good but the bar an entertaiment was up a flight of stairs and the kids dance floor was next to stairs which to me that isnt saftey.

The cleaners dont work Sundays and Tuesdays. The restaurants had nice food it was ok but limited especially for children. The pool bar is good. I cant believe that Airtours can put there names to two bad hotels I have travelled with Airtours 6 times now. These two aparthotels are rated 3*+ but I wouldnt give them a 2* and would never recommened them to any one.

I know now were the saying Lanzagrote comes from
