I went here last September with my boyfriend and his parents for 2 weeks.

Had a lovely view of the beach from my front door and a lovely view over the pool from my balcony. I did see a few cockroaches but nothing absolutely drastic. Really clean hotel and poolside was lovely.

Supermarket attached to the hotel and is really cheap.

Brilliant drag show in the Brandy Well bar which is attached to the hotel.

Had a very good time room was spotless and had great views. Found the resort very laid back would recommend it to anyone.

Can someone help! I am going to Lanzarote in August and it sounds like Direct Holidays have a number of allocated rooms with this complex and they get the nice rooms! I have read all these reviews and everyone that booked with Direct holidays and had great rooms....i hope this is the case! Im a bit worried about these cockroaches crawling around. Can someone just reassure me that the complex is nice etc!!

We arrived around midnight and initially the impressions were good. However, once out of reception and into the main area by the pool it was clear that the brochure pictures had been taken very deceptively.

The pool area was much smaller than depicted in the brochure pictures, in the room we found it to be very small and very worn. The room had clearly not been refurbished for a long time and areas were clearly worn and the shower holder was broken hence the shower had to be hand held.

In the morning around 8.30am we heard the pool staff cleaning the pool area but by 9am they were surrounded by holidaymakers queing for sunbeds. The beds are stacked and chained overnight and not unchained until 9.30-9.45am by which time there are masses of people waiting for sunbeds to reserve. By 10am sunbeds had run out!!!

The pools are ok but not always cleaned properly especially the childrens pools. Rooms are cleaned daily except Sundays and Tuesday but they do not always change sheets and towels. The hotel staff are accommodating enough however the two Airtours reps are totally useless.

They are only interested in what they can get you to book otherwise a smile or even eye contact is unheard of. We booked entrance tickets to the water park through them on the basis that they informed us that if we did that we could present our receipt at the gate and we would not need to wait. This was not true. We ended up waiting along with everyone else who had not pre purchased their tickets. When I spoke to the reps about this they were dismissive and did not even apologise let alone offer reassurances to look into it. Avoid them if you can.

The entertainment team are good and work hard for the children. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and an excellent range of restaurants and bars are on the door step.

Major problems we found were the constant smell of sewage around the pool area which was particularly off putting and that by 6.30pm on a daily basis the shower would only run as cold with no hot water at all. As for cockroaches I saw only one and it was dead.

Overall the hotel was tatty and run down and a lot smaller than the brochure implies. I would rate it as a 1+ and not a 3 star. I would not go again and would not reccommend it to anyone either.

We have just come back from the Puerto Tachie what a surprise after all the bad comments. What do people want, we had no problems at all.

The reps janice and elaine are excellent they were always around every day and were 2 lovely peolpe l have been on many holidays and not seen the reps.

We went to the meeting both reps had been here many years and the advise we got was ist class. Most people have probs but always think it is the reps fault.

The shows here are 1st class and Sean is a love wish I was 21 again would take him home. The apartments were clean and basic but ok for our needs.

We did not eat in the resturant but did hear good reports.

Please do not be put off by the reports about these apartments htye are good and the staff are excellent please say hello to Janice and Elaine and take some English chocos for Elaine she loves chocos. Go and enjoy.

We visited the hotel last week, it was really lovely. The rooms were basic but clean, well furnished and equipped. The maid visited the rooms every day apart from Sundays and Tuesdays. She was very polite and did a brilliant job, we ended up leaving her a bottle of wine.

We saw no cocroaches in the rooms or around the pool areas in our two week stay. The pools were large and cleaned everyday, although one is salty water.

Staff were very helpful, the two reps were at the hotel everyday, the most i have ever seen. Sean, who works in the hotel is the best entertainer we have ever come across, watch this space!!!!

Childrens club was super and entertainment at night and during the day was brill

only disadvantage was sunbeds. The beds are locked until 9:30, as they are chained up there is queues for them it is ridiculous, people grabbing nine or ten leaving none for others. If you are sunbathers i would advise you to be in the queue for 8:50 and don't be shy. Queuing up is degrading

Overall i would highly recommend this hotel, it is very close to the town cenre and is very nice. We would go back as soon as possible!!!!!

We have just returned from a fortnights stay at the Puerto Tahiche and after reading bad reports we were really worried but we needn't have been we had a great time.

Okay the apartments are basic, but it was clean and we had a nice pool view, and we only saw one cockroach.

The only food we ate there was from the poolside bar which was great. The hotel is in the most briiliant position right next to the beach and all bars and restaurants.

The hotel staff were very helpfull and friendly although they could all do with improving their English(I asked for my loo handle to be fixed and when I got back to my room I had two new pillows instead).

The entertainment team were brill as and kept the kids and us entertained day and night. As for the reps they were about regulary but were only interested in you booking trips with them.

Hotel cleanliness we did not have a problem with maids were there daily and changed sheets and towels.

Hotel location was ideal, all the shops and restaurants were close by.

Hotel staff were friendly and if a problem occurred were on hand to sort it out.

Entertainment was first class loved every minute of it, ratings go beyond the 5 score!! You will love the shows they put on.

I would definitely go back to the hotel/resort again.

We had a room on the top floor overlooking the pool. I think it is just your luck if you get a good room - some of them looked not so good. Never saw one cockroach thankfully. The pool area looked fine but spent most days on the beach and hired a car for a few days and saw most of the island. The location is fantastic. Teguise is very windy. The Chispas Bar in the square is the cheapest place for drink!

I was absolutely dreading going to this Hotel as the reports I had read where terrible, so on arrival I was rather shocked to find it was't that bad.

There are only 3 floors but no lifts so I had to drag my case up to the 3rd Floor. The room was clean and beds made up and although I was in a studio, the kitchen area was very small; there was an alcove in the wall and that was the kitchen area.

I was grateful I was on half board for this reason. The room was in block 1 over looking the pool and the view was very nice and a very spacious balcony to sit on. The wardrobe wasn't much to shout about and I felt I needed to put a blanket down for some of the clothes (as most t-shirts where white) as there was a bit of dust in this but all in all your average 3* accommodation.

On going down for evening meal the first night I realised that as per previous reports the meal was nothing to shout about it was just chicken in various forms and there was nothing for kids apart from chips and you can only eat so much chips with nothing else, the quality did improve on the last night as there was a variation and even a kids choice which included Squid Rings (how many kids eat squid rings I'd love to know).

The pool area was really nice and the Hotel Kids Club (which I only found out by chance was there) was fantasitc and free to all kids aged 4 to 11.

There was the Airtours Kids Club but the kids who went were really bored and said that they didn't play games and do fun things.

The staff seemed friendly enough although I really didn't have much dealings with them, and I can't fault the entertainment (Especially for the kids I can now dance various dances including to startrekkin etc that's a party piece).

I really enjoyed my stay at the Puerto Tahiche although the only thing I can say what disappointed me on the holiday was the food which was appaling I would never go to the hotel on a half board basis again only self catering.

Another thing which I noticed was that the Reps were there every day which was a good thing but they didn't tell you anything about the resort unless it was money in their pockets so just watch out for that ask the Hotel staff or

Hotel entertainment staff who are really friendly and will help you out.
