Location
The location is a little walk from the nightlife but we didn't mind. The hotel is situated on an incline not recommended if you have trouble walking or wheelchairs. We have two prams good job we are fit.
Having said that the apartments are fab.
The pools are clean a good size kids pool and the surrounding area is kept very clean. The little children's play area is great and can be seen from the room so the kids can play in safety.
The poolside snack bar has a limited menu but is cheap and provided good snack food excellent portions.
The room was kept clean and fresh towels provided daily.
The on site shop is good with fresh cooked bread throughout the day.
There is a toaster and microwave in the room. And the tv is a good asset to the room if you like to keep up with the days news.

We did not answer straight away, thief let himself in with a key! Bedroom door opened by a young bloke, my husband jumped off the bed but not quick enough to catch the creep.
We were lucky he headed for the bedroom first, if he had gone into lounge he would have had a good haul! Everything had been left on the coffee table money mobile phone cam corder pocket pc. What made me really angry was the attitde of the holiday rep, she just wanted to keep the fact quiet and said she would write a report the day before we flew home.
Excursions not value for money if mount Tiede is closed you should be told.

The hotel was clean and the rooms comfortable, however very noisy. We were on the first floor rooms 110 + 108 both had noise from the kitchen and dinning room below, it started at around 6.30 and finished one night at around 12.30. I think it is the kitchen door and metal trays that were the most annoying.
We also had a building site just over the road, most days not a problem but did wake us up before the kitchen noise on two days.I did ask to change rooms but only one room was avalible so we stuck it out.
The balconies on this side of the hotel have a very poor sea view. I stayed at the Ocean Palace on 2001 when it was very new and had a great holiday with a great room. However the rooms and hotel are ready for a refit if it is to stay at 4*, I would only give it 3* rating.
The entertainment staff are all new, they seem ok and the entertainment was good. The main turns do not come on stage untill 11pm I found this a little late.
The childeren all seemed to have fun and this is definately a family hotel now. Most of the hotel staff were very good and the manager is always around. However one of the receptionists was quite rude, but the one with the long dark hair is lovely.
I would not return to this hotel as I do not have childeren. I think the room noise spoilt the whole holiday, so make sure you state when booking you need a high floor room with full sea view(Good Luck)
P.S Avoid all people who are handing out scratch cards, its a con, you only get the prize if you part with lots of money. Be Warned!!!

Food in hotel is nice enough if only there for one week however i would recommend goint self catering and perhaps upgrading to half board while there.
Pool area is lovely however missing tiles at bottom of pool need replaced.
Rooms are lovely and modern however certain repairs need doing to keep this hotel to a 4* standard.
Entertainment fairly good however adult shows start late, did not really concern us as we prefer resort entertainment.
If you have young family it is a good choice for a holiday.

We found the apartments to be very clean and the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

When we went to reception they was very unhelpful and not a bit concerened. They were making us feel like we were making this up, Whilst logging the complaint at reception another couple also came up to report the same thing. There was no sign of forced entry. The door was locked when we arrived home.
Luckly we had our passports and main items in the safe. The safe is not big enought to put all belongings inside of it. The reason these items were in the suitcase and the suit cases were not lock was because we were packing to go home the next day.
We only popped out for a something to eat. This was at half past 6 in the evening. We spent 2 and half hours reporting this at the police station. They could not speak a word of english which made this more difficult.
I feel I need to let everyone know so this does not happen to them. It was very upsetting. Please make sure you have valuables with you at all times if you holiday at the Nogal beach.
We have since found out that there has been other complaints saying that people have had money taken in the past, again with no forced entry.
I must say that the hotel next door which is the sister of Nogal beach is very nice. The breakfast in here was excellent, as you can use the facilities.
Yes the apartments were kept clean, there was no ironing board in the apartments, when I asked at reception they told me to go and buy one. Yes we did have clean towels regularly and the apartment was cleaned on a daily basis.
I found only one member of staff was helpful. The location was a bit out of the way, its ok if you have hired a car.

The food was very good and the bar staff at the bistro chef were first class both in attention and friendliness. There was live music most nights. And happy hour from 6pm to 8pm.
My sister and I found all staff including reception
Very helpful. Rooms were cleaned and towels and bed linen changed regularly.
Mini supermarket below apts larger one 5mins away.
Walk to beach 10 mins.
Summary will certainly be back.
Location we found perfect.

Nice rooms good food at the restaurants, plenty of sun beds. The bar staff were exceptional especially during the happy hours. Many thanks to the bar staff, David, Roberto, Garim & Oliver for making our week fantastic.
One downfall however. The entertainment manager Roy needs to chill a bit. We fell fowl of him on the first night for being a bit noisy at the bar while he was doing his rather silly "Who wants to be a Ocean Palaceaire" show. Did it not cross his mind that we were enjoying ourselves. His comments were quite rude & uncalled for. We however did not let an excuse for an entertainer spoil our holiday as we gave him plenty of stick back much to the amusement of our friendly barmen.

Entertainment rubbish, Roy is the most obnoxious person I have ever met as an entertainer I think he hates kids and women. We have stayed here before when Rafa was the entertainer he was excellent, everyone we met commented on how bad Roy was.
He just seems to want to make some money out of bingo and other schemes to get cash out of you.
While he is still an compere at this hotel I will never go back he needs to get himself back over to the UK Cus Tenerife does not need him.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The entertainment was mixed. Quizzes, bingo and kids disco twice daily, plus a mixture of professional cabaret, game shows and parrot/snake shows. The main show usually started around 11.00 and was followed by karaoke. Teenagers made their own entertainment, using pool tables, sports court, trampoline, games room and computer. The adults in our party enjoyed most of the entertainment.
The week that we were there, the guests were mostly Scottish and the rest were from other parts of the British Isles, so the entertainment is done in English.
The restaurant is a bit bright and lacks atmosphere. The vegetarians in our party managed to find something to eat each night but the variety and quality was not great.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the nearest beach, where there is a good selection of bars and restaurants.
We enjoyed our holiday and would consider going to this hotel again.
