Location
The staff were ever so friendly & we couldn't wait to check out our room.
We were on the 9th floor & over-looked the huge pool.
The room was spotless & the air-conditioning was very welcoming, as the outside temperature was 40c!
The pool was fabulous & we decided to try the pool bar & grab a snack & drink, yet again the staff were so friendly.
The dining room was spotless & was run by professionals. The food was fantastic, with enough choices to keep the pickiest of eaters happy.
We found the location of the hotel to be ideal & central. Our Thompson rep told us to follow the grey brick road until our feet got wet for the beach - this was around a 10 minute walk, with great shops/bars along the way. The beach was beautiful & so clean.
The Square was again around 10 minutes walk away, although you can get side-tracked by the shops/pubs. We didn't really check out the Square as we have a 12 year old daughter & we preferred to opt for the safe option & go to what we regarded as the family pubs. Again another 10-15 minute walk on Wednesdays & Sundays to the market. We were told that Wednesdays goods were priced higher for the tourists & Sundays were the Spaniard prices - which we found to be correct. The market stalls were quite repetitive - bags, belts, purses/wallets,cheap shoes etc.
As we were in a central location I can safely say that we slept soundly each night - we found a great pub called the Wooky Hollow II & we were told that you could no longer drink on the streets outside the pubs & had to take drinks inside at midnight - so everything was very organised.
Right, back to this lovely hotel.
The staff & I mean all the staff were a delight. They made sure that everyones stay was enjoyable & went out of their way to do so. You just knew that every member of staff enjoyed their job & it showed in everything they did.
Jose Siera - one of the head bar staff was always happy & upbeat. You just knew he loved to host the karaoke!
As for the entertainment - we couldn't fault what we saw, although we didn't catch every evening, what we did see was great & the bar area was always busy.
What we did like was the smoking room, which was a welcome change as we didn't feel singled out. The smoking room also has a bar!
The hotel shop was very reasonable priced & the bottled frozen water they sold was a hit with everyone.
As for our Thompson reps - they were brilliant, on-hand to give advice & a daily report on the temperature. You could just tell they were happy with their job, hotel & location. They weren't pushy either & offered free excursions to Altea & Calpe (I've forgot the others)!
Would we go again? - too right, we're doing it all again before this years out & well also be back next Summer.
My final word is - If you are fortunate to stay in this hotel, check out the foyer outside the dining room. The walls are covered with photographs of holidaymakers who've returned year after year. Then go take alook at all the Thank You cards at the reception - it just says it all - you go as a holidaymaker & leave as a friend!

The food was fantastic, something for everyones taste from traditional to spicy + exotic. It was always fresh and hot and the dining area was spotlessly clean. The drinks for sale in dining room were very reasonable.
The bedrooms were clean tidy and maid service every day, each room has a TV and plenty of wardrobe space, the bathroom was also pleasant, clean and fresh towels each day. We had family staying in another hotel in benidorm (Poniente area) and their hotel they told us was rubbish so they came to the Rio Park every day and paid to eat with us 6euros each they were very impressed.
We didn't stay in at night to see the hotel entertainment but always saw the advertisements on the notice board for different things each night and when we returned late the lounge was always packed with people enjoying themselves with cash bingo, karaoke, dancing and competitions etc .
The staff we saw were friendly and polite and always seemed to involve the kids.

The cleaning was done daily to a good standard. The staff were ok. The Thomson staff didn't exactly help when we asked to be moved even though 3 other sets of people had been moved from the room next door as it was so small and they were only couples. We could not afford to pay for 2 rooms at the hotel which was the only suggestion made to us.
The location is quiet and within easy reach of most ameneties. Lovely little pub, Cheap & Cheerful just down from the hotel does fantastic toasted sarnies.
We didn't really see much of the hotel entertainment as we knew where to go in Benidorm.

The public areas are nice n bright and spotlessly clean and there are various lounges with plasma TV's everywhere showing sky news, all the the football etc you and the kids will ever need. Bar staff are really quick to serve and drinks are high quality and well presented and excellent prices with daily happy hour. You and you can tell by the overall feel that this hotel is run by very experienced people from the manager down to the cleaning staff that they have been doing this for years.
We stayed in the family rooms which are located around the pool and found them to be roomy with a great bathroom and the strongest power shower I have ever experienced.
Food was exceptional with quality cuts of meat and plenty of choice.
I can't really comment on the entertainment as we don't rely on the hotel to supply this preferring to walk into the resorts and find our own and Benidorm does not disappoint with lots of bars putting on quality free shows such as singers and comedians.
This is my second visit to Benidorm (the first was for my 40th) and I would not hesitate to recommend the Rio Park and the resort.

We booked 2 family 4 rooms, which were pool level, and consisted of a double bed and 2 single beds, plenty of wardrobe space, and a full size bathroom!
Rooms were cleaned every day, linen changed twice a week.
Food was good, plenty of variety, something for everyone, we had 4 kids with us ages ranging from 8 years to 18 months, and they all found something to eat at every meal time.
The staff in the hotel from cleaners down to Jose the manager were first class.
Had an absolutely wonderful holiday and we are already looking at booking again for later on in the year!

the hotel was so clean the drinks from the bar were very very cheap 1 pint of strongbow and a vodka and sprite was only 5.20 euro far cheaper than at home.
The only down side was the hotel entertainment it was awful really embarrasing.
The food was really good loads of choice the only down side there was the food could have been a little bit hotter
but all in all a fab hotel pity it couldn't be moved to the front.
that walk back every night seemed to get longer and longer
would deffinately go back to Benidorm and possibly the Rio Park.

The food was very good, I tried all different types of food and really enjoyed it all. We found the staff and the rep to be very helpfull.
There were some really good bars around there, Tommy's, The Frog and Toad, Beatles Bar, Titanic, The Village Pub, Free Lions to name but a few!
Just a short walk down the yellow brick road gets you to them and it't not far at all to the beach.
I'm already looking at going there in September next year as a short break for 4 days, fingers crossed we'll get there!
