Location
Cleaners came every day at varied times once at 8.30am the latest was 3.00pm. They obviously didn't sweep the floor and didn't leave me any toilet roll for 4 days until I left a note asking for it.
The food was not bad although on occasions it was cold. There was not a lot of choice.
The staff seemed to favour the older folk and at times I felt some could be quite ignorant.
The location was not too bad it's away from all the shops and bars, as it was a bit out of the way it was definately not safe for me to walk back on my own after 8pm. It's surprisingly close to both the new town and old town.
The lifts were definately the biggest problem in the hotel, the were three very small lifts and there are always queues in reception. Average waiting time is at least 10 mins. The majority of the time I had to walk up and down the stairs, I was on the 7th floor so it could have been worse. I also noticed the older folk seemed to be put on the top floors whereas the families and younger folk seemed to be on the lower floors which was a bit unfair.
I only went to watch the entertainment once or should I say tried, I went downstairs and it must have been cancelled or something although it had been advertising a show all day. Other than that every time I went down there was only two tables of older folk sat watching so it can't have been very good.
I didn't even go in the pool it looked disgusting not very clean at all and there were some chairs that you could never sit on because all the older folk would get up at the crack of dawn and put their towels on them!!!!!
The reps were helpful apart from their constant attempts to sell you a trip.

the staff were very helpful, and understanding for all requirements.
the hotel was just far enough away from the clubs, that you did not get disturbed in the early hours of the morning.
if i had to make a bad comment, it has to be that the rooms did not have air conditioning, but we think this is being sorted.
all in all it was a superb holiday, and the hotel comes highly recommended.

Once we got into the holiday things looked up except for the lifts. Only 3 small lifts and an override facility which meant that the lifts were travelling top to bottom more or less empty and not stopping in between, I lost count of the number of people telling me to keep my finger on the button so it didn't stop.
Hotel room was comfortable enough but the cleaners moved the beds in every room every morning and also during the night when they cleaned rooms. the grating was enough to ensure that there were no lazy lie ins!
Drinks were available free at breakfast but everything had to be paid for at tea even water.
Bar Service was slow, entertainment was poor considering the proximity of other distractions.
the cabaret clubs are only 2 blocks down and to the left..
Food was acceptable and we only ate out twice (Benidorm Palace and Medieval Night)

The first morning we went straight down to the pool, plenty of free sunloungers to go around and a beautiful and accomadating pool. The hotel was quite big but there was a large sun space so it wasnt cramped.
The first evening we went down for tea and were greated at the door by a pleasant Spanard who asked us for our room number to ensure we were staying in the Rio Park. Everything else was left to us, buffet service and then we sat down - again the dining room was very spacious so know need to look for a seat too long.
The food was of a higher standard than expected with a full range of English and Spanish foods. Better than any buffet service ive ever experienced.
We never stayed in at night to see the hotel entertainment but we knew there was bingo and karaoke, one night all the male staf did a full monty so sounds like a good show :o)
As far as location its about 5 - 10 minutes to the bars and 15 to the beach. Not too far to walk home leathered but far enough to keep quiet at night. Perfect.
I wouldnt advise going to Benidorm if you have a family as there is not much to do for young children but the Rio park would be a great place to go if you ignore my advice.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, quiet enough for a good nights sleep yet only a couple of minutes walk away from the heart of Benidorm.
I have grown up with this hotel, I have experienced it from varying ages throughout my life and I remember as a kid having the most amazing fun at the kids club. As a teenager having no trouble making friends my first day and having great fun clubbing etc. Now as an adult I enjoy the atmosphere and the feeling of homliness that the hotel seems to bring.
The staff recognise me and my family and give us a warm welcome each year, I myself see familiar faces every time I go!!!
The maids keep the rooms spotless with an endless supply of fresh towels and toilet roll.
The dining room has a very relaxed atmosphere, the food is excellent. Every night is different and there is always a great variety. I have heard people complaining about the food when they are STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT of a buffet of paella, steak, chips, salad, pasta, fish, potatoes, rice, fruit, chocolate cake, caramel shortcake, ice cream etc etc etc!!!!!
These are the people that leave bad reviews and to them I say......what exactly is it that you want....some micro chips?
It cant even be the quality of the food that they complain about because it is seriously good?!
As for the staff, they are so friendly, funny, and very hard workers.
Every night there is Bingo and a show put on by the staff themselves. Dracula and the witches brew is a favourite, if you have kids be sure to make a point of seeing this.
The boss himself dresses up and hides in a coffin then runs around terrifying the children, meanwhile the adults are invited to a free "flaming hot" drink of the brew from a cauldron!!!
The hotel has now been refurbished to include air conditioning, televisions in the rooms and new landscaped sunbathing area....I'm leaving in 48 hours and I'm in no doubt that it will be another fantastic holiday to remember...all thanks to the Rio Park.
