If you are ever going to stay at this hotel make sure you are fit and very healthy and don't have any breathing problems were you need to use inhalers, the road from the front up to the hotel should be named as Coronary Hill as this hill could lead and cause a person to have a heart attack, the side of the hotel where we where it was always in the shade, and another thing is advisable to bring earplugs because you find when people come in late they can be a bit nosy taking no thought for people trying to sleep, and people argueing during that time of the morning....

The hotel is in a good location and close to the beach. Hill is not a problem. Our room has a lovely view of the harbour.
Would definately go again.

Stayed in Benalmadena and had a fantatic 2wks and had so much to fit in during this time. The beaches are lovely especially near the beach resturants (Palm 5, Smileys, Sharvilles) The man who rents the sun beds there is very friendly and is happy to reserve the beds for you on a daily basis as it can become very busy. He also comes around during the day giving you glasses of wine and biscuits. We spent a lot of time of the beach during the days, snorkling, crabing and trying to ride the waves in our rubber rings.
The Spanish resturants we found to be very expensive and the staff not very friendly. We tried a couple as we thought it would be nice to let the children sample some of the Spanish food, however soon made our tracks to the good old English ones which seemed to be in a batch of about 10. There was 5 on the top and 5 on the bottom level. The ones we tried were really nice and served large portions and were reasonably priced.
We had heard about the entertaimnet in Bonanza Square - the Bonanza Bar and i think Elaphantie (excuse the spelling) so we walked up to see what it was about. Well the Elaphantie is like a social club and is very much catered for the English and holds 3 shows a night and the couple we saw was very good, the Bonanza Square is were there are bars and lots of different resturants to choose from and also the Bonanza Pub which also holds regular entertainment. So if you are in need of some English speaking company and like a good old knees up then head to the Bonanza Square. Carnt say it was our cup of tea - the kids were not really impressed but then they are at that age.
Entertainment can be found from one end of the resort where the Marina is and this is so worth a visit or two as the yachts are really impressive and then right up to the other end of the resort.
There are cable car rides to the top of a very big mountain where the views are fantastic. A falcon show, horse show and donkey rides can be found at the top of the mountain but remember to wear sensible shoes - this is a must.
By the cable cars is a theme park call Tivolli World which opens from 6pm to 2am and if you carnt face the walk from the town of Benalmadena then a little train will take you for 7 Euros and this includes your entry to the park as well. Once in the park you can buy a wrist band for 10 Euros each for super tivolli which is well worth buying as if you buy the rides separatly it soon adds up. There are also shows in the theme park and lots of nice restuarants to choose from. The Chinese one is very nice and we had the special for 7 Euros - 3 course meal - not very large portions but certainly filled the gap.
Dolphin show at Selwo - this is located next to the big park with all the aniamls running loose. We had a ticket that gave us entrance to the dophin show and also a ride on the cable cars. Dolphin show is a must and you can have your photos taken with them, but beware as you need to book these at the information desk as soon as you go in as they only take 20 sittings in a day and when they are fully booked you have had it. If you do visit Selwo then either go at 10am or 5pm as the shows in the park take place near these times - we went about 1.30pm and just about got to see the dolphin show and due to the other show times we didnt get to see them as they all had been and gone. There are birds, snakes, sealions and fish and lots more animals to see but the park is not that big and would not say it would take a day out to visit only maybe a couple of hours max.
As stated above there is a big park situated by Selwo and the most of the animals run around wild, chickens, ducks, rabbits, peacocks and much more. There were goats and other aminals in little pens and a big pond with lots of ducks, massive fish (carp) and terrapins. So when you throw in some bread its a free for all to see who will get to it first. The park also has a couple of resturants/bars which sell beer, cold drinks and ice creams etc. The park is amazing and is looked after very well.
There is a sea life centre and pirate golf near the Marina and we visited them both and a good time was had by all.
2 markets are held on Fridays - 1st is by the car park next to Selwo and the big park and the 2nd one which is so much bigger is held by the cable cars and Tivolli world - remember to barter as it can be good fun.
Supermarkets can be found all around Benalmadena and we found a couple of big ones and they were like Asda stores, these can be found - 1 at the back of the big park just up the hill a bit and the other 1 on the way to Tivolli World and they are both in walking distance.
I could go on forever as there really was so much to do and we had a really good time. If you havent been to benalmadena then do go as you wont be disapointed.

Resort was great. Marina about 15mins walk, shops, bars all along front, clubs with good entertainment just around corner. Water park not far.

The cleanliness varied in the resort depending where you went. There was pleanty to do with a lot of entertainment and different types of bars to keep everyone happy. Tivoli world was good value for a night out, unfortunately two of the major rides were out of action, maybe a n otice before oyu went in telling you what were operating would have being nice. There was too much to do and left plenty still to see for another visit to the area. Gibralter is a must for a day trip but once is probably enough. The savings on the cigs and spirits pay for the trip alone.
The beach was a let down with it being very shelly and with many pebels. Initially entering the sea it was sharp for about 2 metres until you hit sand then it ws not too bad, but becaefull i got a nasty graze on the leg when i fell on the shells. The beaches up north are much better, I would visit again maybe in the Feugerenrolla area next time

The resort of Benalmadena is built on a series of hills. With quite a lot of the main attractions located in positions which means you have to walk up those hills !
The walk along the main drag is quite relaxing and you can stop when ever you wish to have a drink or something to eat.We used the local buses all the time,1 euro per trip local. The marina is quite nice although now dated, the marina shops very expensive. If you want to go shopping including getting very cheap cigs,go to Fengirola,a fantastic place.

The resort was very good clean and tidy people were nice and polite. Exchange rate was very good the pub's were excellent for entertainment and food. The bus rides were great really cheap.
The resort entertainment was absolutely fantastic we went on 5 day trips which were very cheap. If you go to them yourself don’t book though the hotel they are not hard to find only a bus ride a way.
1: Crocodile park spend all day there and you can hold a one year old crocodile and have your photo taken free of charge.
2: The zoo was amazing seeing all the animals doing tricks
3: The market is really big for all your bargains
4: A glass bottom boat to go out to sea and see the dolphins which was mint
5: We went to Sewlo Marina where there were dolphin's and sea lion's and you could have your photo taken with the dolphin's for 15 euros. There was also a parrot show. All these did tricks. Really good animals and well looked after.

I have been to benalmadena before, about 13 years ago, and it was very clean and there was always street cleaners about, but now the streets are rather dirty and not a street cleaner in sight.
we visited a few places, Fuengorila zoo, water park, sea life centre, croc park and tivoli world, and all of them were easy to get too and very enjoyable.
