The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. We booked a superior room, and the view was amazing, it looked as if you were right in the sea! The room was huge, with a double bed, bathrobes and slippers, wine, fruit and flowers, and turn back service on a night.
The bathrooms in all rooms are supplied with soap, shampoo, bubble bath, combs, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shower caps, shoe cleaning pad and face tissues.
The food is excellent, for breakfast and evening meal, and we could find no fault with any of the meals.
The swimming pool also has a jaccuzi and there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Pool towels are provided, they are in your room, just ask the maid if you want them changing. There's also a pool bar serving snacks as well as drinks, happy hour is from 12-1pm, 2 for the price of one.
I can't comment on the entertainment as we don't bother, we like to get out and about on a night.
We had a fantastic holiday at the Yaramar, and would not hesitate to go back, and it's not often I would say that.
The age range of the clientel while we were there was from about 40's to 60, maybe 70. Everyone we met was friendly.

The hotel is immaculately presented, and the rooms superbly maintained. Each room has an excellent sea view.
But, and it is a big BUT, at this time of year it caters almost exclusively for very old people, most of whom are there courtesy of a cheap monthly rate. Now of course it is good that elderly people have somewhere nice to go and enjoy themselves, but the entertainment and the food seem to be aimed at them, and for someone younger it does take the edge off the atmosphere. The Thomson gold holidays aren't cheap, and to find ourselves in a place that closely resembled an old folks home was extremely disappointing, and we felt that Thomson's should have been more forthcoming with information about our likely experience at the time we booked. Do not go here if you are under 70.

The cleaning staff take pride in their work. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to assist you.
The food is excellent with a massive choice.
The entertainment we didn't really do, but had good reports from other guests that it was very good.
The only complaint I would say, was that the tour operators reps were hard to find at times, and after the welcome meeting, they really didn't show an interest, but regard the hotel, fantastic, and have booked again to go in February.

Shops on the doorstep. Large supermarket 8 min walk.Beach across the road was great we watched it being cleaned every morning.Hotel was bright and clean. Rooms are a good size we were on the 15th floor fantastic sea views and very little noise at night.
Some staff were fairly miserable but service was good just needed a smile! The Thomson Gold team were good unfortunatly the entertainment room was at the bottom of the hotel building was abit depressing.
Entertainment was poor during the day many activities missed. Quiz at 4pm each day some guests very competitive but no pressure from staff if you prefer to relax by the pool.
Food was also disappointing not of the standard of other Golds we have visited. The lifts are the most impressive thing in the Hotel.
Average age of guests was probably 50 to 60.
I would recommend for a weeks holiday but not for two.

It is beautiful!
However the entertainment can be slighlty disappointing in comparison with the rest of the hotel.
I have been going with my mum for the previous five years of whom is severely disabled and the Yaramar caters for all of our needs but most importantly for my mums. I most certainly recommend it.
See you again in May 2007

Plenty of sunbeds and convinient 'happy hours'.
Unfortunately we were on the change over of the entertainment team and one felt the Winter team were winding down.
However, the Summer team arrived and were far more professional.
The reps themselves were good, special mention to Lucy who filled in for a week.
Would definitely return, not often we can say that. Recommended.

The only thing that we could fault was the choice and labeling of the food, some of it wasnt labeled and there really wasnt a great deal of choice.
We had a superior room on the top floor and it was fabulous, So big and spacious, with fabulous views, on some of my photos it looks like we are in the middle of the sea, on a cruise ship, and each evening when we got back to our room, we found the beds had been turned down for us, with chocolates on our pillows.
The entertainment was ok, in the disco bar there was bingo and the Thompson gold team, or acts brought in, who ere all very good At the time of year we went we were the youngest guests in the hotel, but we felt like we had joined an extended family, and we have already booked to go back next year.

The staff are fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are bright and airy with tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TV (including BBC1)and they all have a sea view.
The entertainment is very good and the reps work really hard to put on good shows every night and during the day. There are two happy hours a day 12.00-1.00 at the poolside bar and 9.00-10.00 in the Aquarium show lounge - you might have to queue for a while but the barman Antonio is entertainment himself!
The Yaramar is situated in a quieter part of Fuengirola but still has plenty of bars and shops nearby - try walking the back streets behind the hotel, they have a really Spanish feel.
Just a word of advice - the brochure states that single rooms (which should read twin for sole use) are available at a supplement which is true but NOT in high season. My husband and I were planning to return in August 2006 with my mum but Thomson would not accept one person in a room despite paying the supplement in the brochure.
The only way we could have gone was to book the hotel (from Thomson) and flight separately but it worked out too expensive as the hotel was about
