Pleasant hotel on seafront in rather ordinary Spanish resort. Room overlooking the sea was comfortable, but not exciting. Food was quite good and service was friendly and efficient.
Pardon me for being old-fashioned, but I had the impression that a "piano bar" was a place where you could have a drink and chat with friends, while the pianist tinkled the ivories in the background. Not so at the Yaramar! Even during the Christmas Dinner which was said to have an "orchestra" it was impossible to conduct any kind of conversation without shouting at the top of your voice.
I cannot understand why Thomson Gold seems to stand for such devastating noise all around! If they want to continue to attract couples - who are likely to be of an older generation - they will have to do better than this.

The Hotel Yaramar, must be the finest value for money on the Costa Del Sol. As you will see from my ratings, My wife and I cannot fault it, we are both in our late 60s, and will not forget the kindness and hospitality shown to us for a long time, not only by the Hotel staff etc, but also the great Thomson staff at the hotel, asyoung as they were, they were very hard working and loyal. Full marks to THOMSONS. It maybe that my wife and I when on holiday look for all the good things in other people, and not bellyache all the time. Once again, top marks to the YARAMAR.

I stayed in this hotel with my elderly mother on two occasions and it was so perfect that I booked for my husband; myself and our son in September 2003. My husband complains about everything wherever he goes, no complaints about the Yaramar though.
The most consistent gripe amongst your reviewers is the noise from the piano and I have to agree with this, it is monotonous and on each of the 3 occasions I have stayed at the Yaramar it is always the same.
My main gripe was the people queuing up for beds by the pool at 8.30am (the pool area opens at 9am). Some had the same position by the pool every day they were there. Although it states that sunbeds cannot be reserved, some were empty for most of the time but there were towels and books etc on them to reserve them. Hopefully this has improved since we were there last.
No complaints about the food, we thought it was excellent as were the staff.
I would definitely return to this hotel, in fact, if I were returning to Fuengirola/Los Boliches this is the only hotel in which I would stay.
I did not mind the clientele being ' more mature', I prefer this to being in the same hotel as the younger, noisier lager louts and badly behaved screeching children. None of these at the Yaramar, lovely and quiet (apart from the piano)

Stayed at Yaramar twice. Both times enjoyed it thoroughly.
Could not find any fault with any aspect of the hotel or its staff and services.
Bar staff (especially Diego) were very courteous and friendly. Dining room staff and Thomson gold staff also excellent.
Did not particularly like Fuengerola but the Hotel Yaramar is a wonderful place for a chill out holiday.
Will definately visit again.
