The hotel has a spa, located on the second floor of the hotel next to the indoor pool, which beauty and health treatments can be booked. It is worth asking reception about these on arrival.

Ask for a room with a balcony that has table & chairs. Rooms at the front will incur some traffic noise as overlook a busy road.

Very clean and spacious ideal for those who just wamt to get away. not great for kids or those who want some atmosphere. we went at christmas so definatly wanted some fun
single rooms have a large corner balcony with no single supplement.
Choose a low floor to avoid queuing for lifts.

We had apartment on ground floor next to the small pool. It was very quiet. There is a small garden to sit in as well.

Plenty of bars open even in November.A handy lift(50cents)to take you up to the main shopping centre. It seems that only the official tobacconists are selling cigs now(JAN 06).The train is convienient and cheap for trips along the coast. The resort is only 10 mins from Malaga airport,so its worth a taxi to avoid the tour operators bus.

Torremolinos is only 10-15 mins from the airport and the transport network is very cheap clean and reliable (there is a train direct to the airport from Torremolinos centre)
We found the beach and surrounding streets really clean and there were plenty of beachfront shops, cafes and bars.
The steps down and up from the street were a mild inconvenience to us as a young fit couple. However I could see that it could cause a problem to the elderly or disabled and even those with pushcahairs. There is a lift but this does not cut out all of the steps and doesnt run late at night.
We could see the resort has the potential to be a lively nightspot if there are more people around. However everywhere was either closed or very quiet due to the time of year. So just a word of warning dont expect any nightlife if you go in october!!
There are loads of restaurants and if you like chinese you are sorted.
I must admit that we travelled to Benalmadena most evenings (1Eu on bus) as the marina is beautiful and the restaurants to a higher standard.
All in all Torremolinos is a typical resort town dead out of season but on the other hand I imagine it would become ridiculously busy during July/August.
I think the ideal time to visit would be around the middle of September.

Hotel is quite a walk from resort centre but only 1.15e on buses which run every half hour.beach front is lovely and flat with a few bars and supermarkets which are half the price to the hotel shop.

Lots of good bars and restruants within 5 mins walk down hill, a decent prom walk to Benalmadna and an up hill walk of about 15mins into the good shopping of Torremolinas.

Torremolinos, no binge drinking Brits but lots of OAP,s enjoying a quiet holiday in a clean attractive resort. Discover the lifts as the route from the sea front to the town is steep. Good rail and bus services but poor entertainment.

We are a young family but my legs ached terribly as there seemed to be alot of slopes and steps in Torremolinos. The beach was cleaned daily and the lady at the sunbeds we hired for 7 euros (2 beds, a table and brolly) was lovely. Some nice bars/restaurants to eat at Casa Pasquel is tasty, and for traditional english you couldnt beat the cosy nook on the sea front, sunday roasts in 35 degree heat! excellent. Torremolinos is a nice place, with designer and souvenir shops.Harbour in Benalmadena is lovely, crazy golf at the top of Torremolinos round the coastal rocks and up the hill on the seafront. However we are not the type of family to go back to the same place again and again.

the town itself,we found, rather to our suprise ,still has a great spanish feel to it.torromolinos has something for everyone, wether straight or gay, young or old it seems to be available,as a straight couple we had some great nights in tony's bar and the euro bar near the laroca steps, yet just round the corner on san miguel st there is a massive gay scene, and the good thing we found was everyone got on with each other,a truly brilliant resort.

The resort was kept very clean and tidy and had it all if you want lively and noisy or quiet it suits all. Plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to cater for all tastes.
The main shopping area San Miguel streetis 10 mins by taxi between 5&8 euros or 40 mins walking along the sea front. 2 bars we would recommend for live entertainment are Busbys in Benalmadena approx 15 mins from Hotel and Baileys opposite the hotel entrance.
The beach was very clean and quiet with no beach bar music blaring out and 7 euros for 2 beds and brolly all day is good value.

Playamar,Torremolinos, this is situated a good walk away from Torremolinos town centre, and it is all uphill to get there, or 4 euros in a taxi(depending on time of day)
However, if you wish to stay on the promanade, there are plenty of bars, shops and eating places, and you can walk all the way to Benalmadena without one hill to climb.
Playamar itself is like a little village with banks, supermarkets, greengrocers, bread shops, cake shops, fishmongers...everything that you would need to "live there"
The beach is clean and each section of "sunbed hire" has litter bins and is lovingly tended to by the owners, some have made little gardens with water features on their section of the vast beach...tractor marks can be seen every morning in the sand, where they have cleaned during the night.
2 sunbeds and a parasol costs 7 euros for the day, with thick, comfortable, clean mattresses.
In all fairness, the streets were dirty, but considering this is getting to the end of the season, the dates have fallen from the trees and have been squashed underfoot, and most importantly, they have had no rain all year to wash the streets or have enough water to employ the street cleaners go around wasting precious water.
I would still visit this area again without any hesitation.!

Torremolinos, never again the people were so rude, the only time you got a smile or ola was from an ex pat. If all of Spain is like this then we will stick to Turkey
