Location
The food was okay but was very repetitive and it seemed they had Veal and Rabbit on the menu every night! The cleanliness was top class though, the maides did a fantastic job every day and when I was up early for breakfast I saw them doing a great job on the down stairs. Location was also another plus point, within walking distance to the Theme Park it was perfect, the beach was also about the same distance the other direction so it was perfect.
The staff in the hotel were generally nice, not sure they liked us though after asking for a table for 10 every night! They were good enough though and made it a comfortable stay.
Entertainment was a down side but as we like to go out most nights it didn't bother us. Some of the stuff was terrible though and it was even repeated in the week!
We did have a few problems with our key card in the hotel, we kept having to renew it in reception. They later in the week told us that it becomes unactivated of something like that when next to something like a phone or digital camera.
Overall though was a good enjoyable holiday, the computers were a plus point especially for the kids with Virtual Tennis!

Near to Theme park shops and beach approx 10 slow walk.
Staff work very hard. Best hotel I have stayed in, in salou
Food good, nothing is to much trouble, pool area fab.
Indoor swimming pool as well as outdoor gym downstairs if you are thinking of going there do so only down fall was the seating in reception bit grubby but that is due to people letting there kids jumping on them not down to hotel.
Very clean beds maid for you every day breakfast 8 to 11 and evening meal 6.30 to 9.30 book it now best 2 weeks in Spain.

The dining room is spacious and clean with hard working waiters and waitresses. Breakfast is very nice with a chef cooking omelettes and you can choose your favourite filling. There were also pancakes, which the chef cooked in front you. The evening meals are also excellent, with plenty of choice. I don't eat meat or salad but there was still plenty of choice for me. The Friday night Gala is fabulous!
Days varied where sunbeds are concerned! This hotel is no different to any other hotel I've stayed in for a fight for sunbeds in the mornings! We had a room with a pool view and some mornings we'd stand on our balcony and watch the guests run out when staff unlocked the doors and they'd run around the pool for a sunbed! When we had a lazy day by the pool though, we always got sunbeds.
The hotel is in an excellent location for Port Aventura and it only took us about a fifteen minute stroll to get there, and that was in hot weather. It's also in a great location for bars, shops and restaurants, etc. The beach is only about a fifteen minute stroll away too.
There's bus stops about ten minutes away from the Villa Romana Hotel and the buses are frequent. Nearly all of them are Plana buses and we caught one to Barcelona, Reus and Tarragona. It was only two euros per person to Tarragona (single, not return) on a Plana bus. We also went to Nou Camp and Barcelona on an organised trip with Plana buses, which was really good. Tarragona is well worth visiting.
We walked to Cap Salou but were lazy and caught the land train back to Salou!
We never used the indoor pool, as the weather was great and we preferred to be outside. The swimming caps for the indoor pool put me off using it! But it looked like a lovely pool. The gym also looked great, but we never used it.
The reception area, bar and pool area is always very clean.
I would definitely recommend the Villa Romana Hotel and would definitely return again.

The hotel is very clean, and the maids clean your room every day. The pool area was immaculate.
It is in a great location, although a bit of a walk to the beach. The taxis are fairly cheap and there is a tourist train (The Wally Train). The train is great if you are travelling without a pushchair as you have to be quick to get on & off.
The food is plentiful and there is a wide variety. Great if you like fish & meat. I found it difficult some nights as I'm not keen on either, but there were always chips & salad! They have a kids buffet bar & often had things like fish fingers, pasta etc. We enjoyed breakfast the most, the omelettes & pancakes in particular. Don't forget to get your smoothie, much nicer than the juice!
The staff were very friendly. The restaurant staff always made us feel welcome. Watch out for the chefs, they are entertainment themselves!
The entertainment was good. Sometimes the kids disco was on later than advertised (9pm), but they always did something with the kids. Be wary of waiting for table service for your drinks, it seemed much quicker to go to the bar and get your own.
All in all a great holiday. Highly recommended for families.

I have bulleted points for readability
-Rock hard bread rolls
-Paper thin walls in bathrooms
-Pool area too small for number of rooms
-Limited fixed number of parasols( had infant with me)
-Cannot sign for drinks etc unless you leave a deposit on arrival.
-Queue to get into restaurant in evening
-Queue to get out as people have to pay at the till(see above)
-Room not ready on arrival
-Had to queue at reception for up to 30mins frequently as only one receptionist on duty- even though there were others in the back office looking out
Overall would not recommend if you have experienced proper 4* attention in Spain. Hotel policies were suited for their convienence and not for the guests

Hotel was extremely clean, food was very good, staff very friendly and very helpful, going out of their way to humour the kids. Kids disco was very good , didn't really see any other entertainment as went elsewhere.
We would definitaley recommend this hotel to others and look to return ourselves!

Our 5 year old thoroughly enjoyed the kids entertainment and disco every evening was a real treat.
Choice of food catered for all nationalities and even though our kids were very picky they did not go hungry.
The location of the hotel is excellent - mid way between the Park and the beach.
The hotel provided entertainment each night-some nights good and other nights a walk into town was on the agenda.
My only gripe would be that on previous holidays the hotel kids club staff insured that our children could not leave the playroom facility until we collected them allowing us to enjoy our dinner etc., however in this hotel they are allowed to wander freely out of this playroom when they wish which can be dangerous.
We had no issues with the staff and found them all most helpful - we would love to visit this hotel again and would have no hesitation in recommending to our friends.

Booked on findspainrooms.com. Superb value for what we got. Not surprisingly, not many dates available now.
Friendly and efficient staff.
The food was great. Breakfasts were everything we could ask for, plus extra things like pancakes and fried eggs cooked at the counter. If you like your bacon crispy you go there for it, too. Orange juice was not the best, but that is a small thing. There were at least three different meats and a fish on self-service every night. In addition to this you could go to the counter where the chefs would carve meat from a joint, cook you steak or lamb chops, or cook you a different piece of fish. Apart from truffles and caviar, I don't see what else they could have given us.
The dining room is immaculate. What we particularly liked was that the waitresses always changed the tablecloths when diners had finished at the table.
Wines and other drinks are reasonably priced in the hotel.
Entertainment O.K. for us. It starts at 10 p.m. Quite varied.
Some reviewers seem to like the location. The hotel is a bit far from the beach for us. It is a good 10 minutes walk and probably a bit longer to the town. On the other hand, it isn't in a noisy location.
Ryanair flight to Reus O.K. as long as you accept it for what it is. Make sure you don't exceed your baggage allowance. They will not let people travelling together pool their allowances. In our case we took one case for two of us. It was 2kg over the single allowance and they charged us excess baggage. Also food and drinks very expensive on board.
There is a bus waiting at Reus airport to take you to any hotel in Salou or La Pinda. They will also arrange to collect you on the return date in time for the flight. If there are four or more of you it is probably just as cheap to go by taxi.
