Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Been to Salou 4 times now so I must love it. It is a great resort to cater for all ages and tastes. Kids of all ages will love it. The best bar in my opinion is Hollywoods opposite the International II and the best grub is at The Vines Bar Grill on C.Josep Carner at the other end of the resort centre. Enjoy your holiday, I did.

The Location was very beautiful although I suspect in high season it could be somewhat overcrowded.

The resort was deserted - My idea of heaven!
The beaches were very clean, ideal if you want a quite break away from the UK.
The only bad thing was dog mess. I am not joking it was everywhere. But that goes for Tarragona and Barcelona too.
Salou is ideal for trips to Tarragona the trains are inexpensive. But watch the timetables, they don't always run and unless you understand Spanish, it is difficult to know what is what. Learn some basics.
If you like Archeology etc - Tarragona is excellent
Barcelona is huge and not at all expensive. One Thing, beware of pick pockets, do not carry a handbag around. We were ok. But my friends parents are there now and have had everything stolen within 2 hours. The cards had been used and ran up £500 worth of debt! Plus the other things like jewellery, I did warn them to be careful! Luckily they are ok.

Salou very pretty resort. In winter it is very very quiet. Thank goodness for McDonalds on sea front. Only life is around Marina/Railway station area of town.Excellent for quiet break, sat on promenade for 30 mins and saw about 2 people pass by

Very quiet in December but the following bars were open. Danny Boys, Jimmys, Blue Bahia etc. and the cafes in the old town were open. In the evening most of the nightclubs were open and La Cage was banging! Very different from the Salou I know in the summer but I think it was better ~ Enough going on but without the hassle.

Being november the resort was very quiet but very clean.
In mid to high season there are plenty bars and restaurants to keep you up till the early hours.
The beach is very clean and a pleasent stroll along takes you into Cambrills(which is a more upmarket place).
Will definately be going back to this resort.

We thought the resort os Salou was really nice. The beach was brilliant for the children - Shallow sea with crystal clear water and a lovely sandy beach. I imagine the beach will be very busy earlier in the season but when we went in October it was relitivley quiet. The overall prices in Salou were reasonable too. We were impressed by Salou and the theme and aqua parks are a great day out.

The resort I found to be clean, lots of hilly roads but as this is still under development its expected. A few bars and restaurants around the area so you don't have to go far.

We were unsure on how to get to the hotel from the airport, before we travelled i looked on a few websites and read that a taxi costs around euros 30.00, also about a bus service that departs the airport and takes you to reus bus station for euros 2.00 and then from reus bus station to salou centre for euros 2.00. We had decided that it would be easier to get a taxi as we thought we would be walking around trying to find the hotel once in salou. When we arrived at reus airport there was a ticket booth advertising a bus service for euros 4.95. The bus departs from outside the airport terminal and takes you to your hotel. We all did this and it took about 20 minutes to get to the villa romana hotel.
The resort was very nice, lots of english pubs where you could have a nice quiet drink or somewhere lively or in between. We went to the thistle and rose and enjoyed our evenings, this is an english pub and the landlady and landlord are very friendly, and the prices of drinks are very reasonable compared to some places we went to.
There are alot of great shops in Salou, selling most souvenir stuff and clothes, leather jackets and bags etc.
The beach looked very nice, i plan to go on the beach next time i visit salou.
