Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

We stayed in room 438 good view over the pool the pictures I have included you will see walk in shower no grip handles and shower mat on the base of the shower and this was provided by the holiday rep

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Brilliant place for or our first holiday aboard could not of wished for a better resort.
I am now making plans to return next year 2005 but to stay at a total different part of resort away from the nightclubs which blighted our first taste of Spain.

A fair walk to the sea front (about 8 - 10 minutes) but well worth the effort with long stretch of beautiful clean sand and plenty of facitities. Quite a steep slope into the water which could be a bit off putting for small children but all very clean.
Something for everyone in terms of food outlets, bars, amuzements etc.
Forget the expensive trips your reps will try and sell you. Catch a bus to Cambrils for the markets (and don't get off till you see the stalls) or bus the other way to La Pineda for a different beach and a great water park and dolphinarium.

Beach was small and not in the best condition but as I was there in October 2004 there is currently a new beach being leveled and built whilst I was there which looks impressive in it's size it may be finished by summer 2005 but don’t quote me on it. Although the beach that is there just now seemed to be crowded every day.

The restort was very clean and well maintained, with a variety of pubs to suit most cultures with many places to eat in variety of nationalities. The beach is excellent and also very clean and well maintained.
There is also a beautiful prommenade which is great for an evening stroll.
I hope to visit this resort again next year but I would probably travel earlier as everything was winding down for the close of the season

Had a great time in salou. The promenade was nice and wide, and the beach was clean, the only thing that was annoying was the street sellers, who also went round the pubs of a night, they seemed to be on every corner, and also the touts who tried to get you into their pubs and clubs, offering free drinks. Salou itself was very clean and tidy. We would all definitely go back again.

The resort was beautiful,where we stayed was not far from the town. It was only a couple of minutes walk.
The beach was lovely, and shops there had nice gifts in them. Hotter than we thought it was going to be, but it was fantastic to have the hot weather.
Visit the Texas Embassy cafe. We went there nearly every other day. The staff are really nice and the food is too. We got quite friendly with them.

I have to admit to being a bit dubious about Salou - expected Blackpool with sun - What a surprise - the resort is spotlessly clean - the beach is gorgeous and there is so much to do - plenty of British pubs and clubs if you want them but plenty of others too.
This is definitely the place to be for families - only complaint is that it took us ages to walk down the promenade because our 3 year old wanted to stop and play on every swing, slide and climbing frame along the way. We will certainly be going back next year!!!

The resort of Salou is excellent. I can't comment on the entertainment because we moved to La-Pineda.

Salou itself was a fab resort however as we went on virtually the last week of the season things were starting to shut down
The resort was very clean and tidy with the promenade around the beach front particulally pretty
Entertainment wise we tried a few bars but ended going to The Lazy Wave nearly every night karaoke til 12.30 and open until 2 great fun and well run
Would definitely go back in the future

The beach is very clean with good facilities, The theme park is excellent and well worth a visit. The bars and restaurants are spread out so you need to walk around to try and find them which as a family can be frustrating. I have been to much nicer resorts so wouldn't go back here unless it was free!!!!!!!!!!!
