Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Salou, the place is kept very clean, with big industrial size bin's every-where. Supermarkets, and pubs, eating places every few feet, you cannot miss with this place.
The main beach is fantastic, sunbeds, sunshades, peddalo's, and beach pubs in abundance. Try Richards Tavern for a great breakfast, Sinatra's for a great meal, and Danny boy's for great cocktails..but stay away from their "Long Ireland Tea.".four hand poured spirits, and a teeny weeny mixer...ouch!!!
In closing...Salou...I'll be back!!

As this was my fourth visit to Salou I'd be a bit silly saying I did'nt like it. Nice Family resort. Commercialised but not in the high rise Benidorm way.Port Aventura is a must and you have the choice of 2 waterparks. one at Port Aventura and another a short Bus ride away at La Pineda. There is a regular bus service to La Pineda. Lots of English bars, karaoke and restruants. Would recommend the Taj Mahal for a nice Indian meal. Beach is superb with a pedestrianised prom. Prices are about the same as at home so not particularly cheap. If you want £1 a pint go to Benidorm!

The resort at Salou was clean, very built up and overcrowded and seemed completley devoid of local culture or history.Le Pineda which is in the opposite direction to Salou and had a less crowded beach and was slightly more picturesque.

We stayed in the Cap Salou area. We tended to only stay here for meals in the Smugglers Inn, which were gorgeous big portions of english food at very reasonable prices. However the area is very family orientated so me and my boyfriend travelled to Salou for livelier nightlife. However i found it to be quite dissapointing on a whole. There is not that many bars for young people and thr place is like a maze, so its difficult to find them, apart from 007 bar which is on the seafront. All were quite expensive compared to the canaries with no drinks offers and nearly everywhere played the same music (r n b),apart from two bars we really enjoyed once we found them!. I would reccommend Charlie Chaplins and Lennons bar.Chaplins is always busy and theres always something going on from singers to drag acts.Around midnight it also it turns into a disco, and kids arent allowed inside after 12 so thats good!.

I have to say after my first visit to Spain I will never be back. Salou was dirty the people were rude. I had my mobile phone stolen. There was a lack of electricity due to storms most of the week. I could continue on and on. All I can say is please go somewhere different.

Plenty to do at Salou. Shops open until 10pm (some shut in afternoon). Loads of places to eat and beach well serviced with WC and take away bars. Several children's playparks and can hire pedaloes for 10 euros p/hour which will take around 5 - 6 people. Also have banana boat and jetski + a 3 hour boat trip (around 30 euros). Sunbeds 3 euros/day. Plenty of bargains (especially for drinkers of spirits) to be had, but don't forget your luggage allowance! Some UK carriers only allow around 15 kilos hold luggage. At around 7 euros kilo for excess baggage, that bargain may not look so attractive!

The resort centre was a good 10 minutes walk from this hotel with plenty of shops to look round and beach front bars, the beach does get very crowded but there is a quiter beach half an hours walk past the harbour, if you enjoy fishing there is a small jetty which seemed very popular with the men and boys, its very flat and ideal if you have a pushchair or wheelchair no steep curbs to go up and down plenty of ramps from one side of the road to the other.

Salou is a lively resort in most areas, but if you want to find a quiet bar/restaurant you will also have little trouble finding one. Beach is very nice, and slopes gently, making it safe for swimmers of varying ages and abilities.

Salou is very pretty, but its not very lively for a young couple, it seems more suited to a family or older couple.
