Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

We loved the resort, it was nice and quiet with plenty still going on. October seemed the ideal time for us. We felt that the staff in Universal's Port Aventura were rude compared the their counterparts in Florida and Los Angeles, USA.

Salou is a lovely resort easy to get around, nice and clean beaches. The main beach is perfect for children as the sea water is shallow for miles!!
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, from Spanish to Chinese to English food, something for everyone.
There is lots of places to go for entertainment, and a really good theme park, I will return to this resort in the future.

Salou was very clean and the beach fab stretching for miles, we went the last 2 weeks of October it was really warm and even managed to swim in the sea a few times.
We spent most days at Port Aventura theme Park as we had a 14 day pass, well worth a visit, go to the shows there too most last half an hour, the parrot show is fab as is Aloha Tahiti in Polynesia, Fort Frenzee stunt show in Far west is also a must.
We are hoping to go back next year.

Costa Daurada (Salou) is difficult to get around in as everything is written in Spanish, there are no translations anywhere even at the theme park. We got lost a few times due to this. Watch out for airport taxi drivers they will rip you off! The beach is nice and the sea is great, a few nice shops and markets, but I found that the Spanish here have no time for any tourists!

Cap Salou is so small. Unbelievable. We walked into Salou every day. At night we got taxis which cost 4.5 euros approx.
Lovely coves close to hotel if you are beach person. Salou was nice enough wouldn't holiday there. Good little pub called 'Little Hampton'. Very good food and Sunday dinners! Have been to Majorca several times and think it’s more family orientated than salou, especially alcudia. Not a lot of family bars in salou. Our hotel was good though for kids.
Port Aventura is good day out. Some people buy three day passes. We done it all in day very comfortably. Lovely place and nice to walk around.

Salou is a nice little town I have been before in the past but was really too young to remember much about it.
The Rovers Return Inn is a nice little pub with polite bar men and women.
The Jugglers bar is a nice place for entertainments and is ideal if you want your children taking off you for about one hour because the person who owns it dresses as a clown and entertains them.
The place you should eat at is Gabbers bar and Jacks which are really nice English food restaurants

Salou was the first holiday our family had abroad now we have been to many places and nothing beats it
The theme park is far better than in Benidorm and is a must for all ages
We don't spend much time on the beach as we're a family who likes to tour
Although we went to Barcelona and it's just like Shefield dirty with high rise buildings.
Now Terragonna was a different story lots to see and clean
we do everything ourselves as it much cheaper there are buses to everywhere the reps offer so try it and save loads of money
We keep coming back to this resort as it's not too lively but also not too quite there is pleny for any age and any type of person a must

Many restaurants were closed during the English half-term week which was surprising. Nevertheless, we found some good restaurants serving wonderful paella!

Salou and Cambrils are very good for families the beach is fine, the hotels generally fine and plenty of other entertainment on offer.
Port Aventura is a must get tickets in the UK from Keith Prowse tickets loads cheaper.
This resort can be a lazy beach holiday or a busy activity it's all here without the noise and the mess. Cambrils is quieter and has a harbour where the fishing boats come in at 4pm which is worth seeing they also have excellent fish restaurants and nice quiet bars in narrow spanish streets (V.traditional)
