Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The resort is clean, well laid out and flat. Can't say much about the entertainment because we didn't look for any. The beach is swept thoroughly every evening,it has a gentle slope so it looks good for kids and you can have a nice stroll along the prom for a couple of miles, if that's whats your fancy. Port Aventura is only a couple of miles away but worth a visit.
We might visit the resort again but stay in a quieter hotel.

salou has a lovely promenade with fountains all along it.it is clean and tidy and the beach is on the same level.plenty of pubs with good grub and things for the kids to do.oh and one other thing, there is a kids play park every 100mtrs or so along the beach, the kids loved it.

Salou is a typical seaside resort in the uk-- blackpool springs to mind. Loads of shops/people and a long beach backed by a palm tree fringed promenade which goes on forever. If you prefer scarborough to blackpool then goto pineda as this is quieter and far more relaxing with a limited amount of shops but a large aquapark and dolphinarium with 2 hotels-donaire park/gran hacienda which look good.

well what can you say about Salou, Port Adventura is an absolute must to anyone who stays here, the dragon khan roller coaster is amazing the 8 loops, if you go do it at night as well that was an experience.
i would not recommend costa caribe water park, that was terrible, not enough sun loungers for every one, and it was not very toddler friendly.
I would however recommend Aquapolis, in la pineda, 20 min bus ride away, and it is great for everyone, you can also see dolphins and sea lions there which was graet for the kids.
the resort itself is very lively at night time with plenty to do for everyone.
The best place to eat in salou is Buddies bar and cafe, what great food, and if you hate it you don`t pay.
i will definatey go to salou again,
The only thing that lets the resort down is the airport, its awful, only 2 luggage belts when you arrive, and when you depart there is only 7 check in desks, so expect to queue alot, the departure lounge is very basic, 1 duty free shop and a coffee bar.
We had a 2 hour delay going home and it was like a sweat box, and there was not enough seating areas.

we booked this holiday in Cap Salou as we didn't want a lively holiday - there are a handful of restaurants in a pretty setting, it was lovely!! For us, the resort was perfect.

Cap Salou was about a 5-10 minutes walk away and is a little place but adequate for an evening meal and a drink we highly recommend Big Bens for the meal. There is also a mini park with rides and machines which went down well with my daughter. Just down the road from the hotel there is a little cove with enough room for about 40 people but it is shallow water and you can walk out quite a way into the Med.
There is also a bigger bay a bit further along. We enjoyed this holiday very much and hope you do too!!!

The main resort of Salou was very busy and noisy and so the location of the Villa Marina Club was very good.

La Pineda has quite a few shops and bars adjacent to the hotel. The local buses are excellent.
Do go to Port Aventura - it was brilliant, even for us - a middle-aged couple!
Also the station in Salou goes direct to Barcelona - about 1 hour 15 minutes. The open-topped tourist bus was great and the discount booklet you get with that ticket (12 euros each) saved us 35 euros getting into Port Aventura!
