Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Very flat and clean with a good selection of bars and resturants although the north of the resort was a bit hilly with mainly British bars and cafes. The harbour has some good fish resturants.
Use the local bus to get to La Pineda and Cambrils its fast, cheap and very frequent.
And dont trust Woody woodpecker, Its always 10 mins to Port Aventura even when you're 1 hour away!!!

Some must see shows and activities in salou are, the hypnotist show on at a sunday night in jimmy's bar and the aquaworld pack which is in the next town.
We thought salou was fairly resonable priced when it came to food, and the portions especially in "grannies kitchen" were huge.
I would recomend u pick up one of the guide books they have in the pub which are free and give u loads of offers for the pubs.....and also a map.

La Pineda is a beautiful resort with plenty to see and do. The busier resort of Salou is a short €1.25 bus ride away, also Tarragona and the fishing village of Cambrils well worth a visit. Aquopolis the water-slide park not worth the €18 we paid each, although fun for children I think- the dolphin show was the best part.
The beaches in La Pineda were fantastic with warm, clear water. I can imagine then during busier summer months you'd be fighting for space though.
Definitely recommend a visit to La Pineda, although beware of thieving hotel staff (see my report on Hotel Sol d'Or).

Salou has excellent night life as well as plenty of family bars. All the main bars are on one street in the centre of Salou quite close to the beach. The beach is very clean but can get crowded. sunbeds are available. The promenade is lovely.Visit champions bar if you like karoeke and the robin hood. If you are on a big night out visit the bus stop and 007 bond for excellent cheap drinks and good music.

La Pinada is a lovely resort. The beach is clean and not too crowded. It is well situated for the waterparks and the Portadventura. The bus service was regular althought we had to stand at times as some buses were very crowded. We spent our evenings at our hotel as we were all inclusive so i cannot comment on the nightlife. We did find that the shops were very few and expensive. All in all i would visit theis resort again.

Blackpool with the sunshine, what more can we say?! Lots of "lookie lookie" men which gets on your nerves eventually!
Lots of pubs and plenty of entertainment for the young and old.
Port Aventura was good but aimed mainly at older kids and adults, not much for the young kids to do. Costa Caribe is VERY busy, go to Aqua Polis, it's better and has more space. The dolphin and Sealion show was great to watch too! The main beach gets busy but you can always get a bed. There are other beaches but they are down LOTS of steps so be warned! La Pineda and Cambrils are both worth a visit if only to get away from bustling Salou for a while!

The resort of Salou itself is spotless, Port Aventura is fantastic for the kids (young and old)the food costs fair and the quality good, Barcelona is a bus ride away and the fountains at night must be seen.

Beach was great and very long. Clean on beach, just be careful walking up to it as it has lots of dogs dodo's.
