Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Salou is a fantastic place to go. The bars and restaurants are great. Port Aventura is a must day or night. I love salou and would definately go back in the future!!

Resort was okay, some broken pavements around which are not good when you have had a drink.
Beach area hectic but families will love it. Resort has something for everyone.
Would recomend to hire a car and see more of the area around.
We had a great holiday and would recomend this hotel and resort. We hope to go back sometime this year!

The hotel is situated away from the noise of the main area of Salou but it is only about a 10 minute walk to the front and there are no hills leading to the hotel so it is suitable for disabled people.
Salou does have some hills but to get to the main area is easy.
The entertainment at the hotel is not very good but there are plenty of places in Salou that do give reasonable entertainment.
All in all you can have a very good holiday here.

Salou is a good place to go for a holiday whether you want a quiet holiday or like to really live it up there is plenty for everyone.
The main beach is lovely clean and nice and flat but can get a bit crowded in the main season, there are also lots of little coves to be found where the beach is not so busy.
Try taking a bus ride down to Cambrils the beach is nice there too and the buses are cheap and regular.
Also a must is Port Aventura whether you like rollercosters or not there is plenty to do and see for all ages and once you have paid to go in all the rides and shows are free, if you can stay until midnight there is an excellent show on the lake with jetskis fireworks etc. It is possible to buy a day ticket which means you can go in the morning go out and come back in the evening. Or you can go in the evening after 7pm for a reduced price.
Barcelona is lovely too but be aware of pickpockets, a good trip to go on is the afternoon and evening trip to the fountains. If you go by train though be aware that the last train back is about 9pm, you can get the train from the old town area of Salou and it is quite reasonable (Most staff speak a little English).
The main area of salou has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants which are easy to access from some hotels but there are some areas that are on hills so if you are disabled ask your rep which part of Salou your hotel is on.

The resort wasn't very picturesque but the entertainment was alright, it had loadsa bars and nightclubs. And it was good for kids with loadsa arcades nd shops galore!
The beach was packed but beautiful clear water and golden sand. I would definitely come back here we are gonna come back in 2006!

I'm sorry to say but I thought Salou it'self was a pit.
The only good thing about it was Port Aventura

The resort of La Pineda, where the Donaire is, is a lovely resort. Much nicer than Salou. There isn't loads to do, although, it's a great base to explore Port Aventura and Barcelona.
Buy your Port Aventura tickets before you go - the reps try to rip you off with their 3 day passes. If you don't, it is possible to buy 14 day passes directly from the park entrance. Don't believe the reps when they say that you can't.
My advice is that if you have youngish kids - go to Port Aventura at night. It's not as busy, hot and the queues are virtually non existent. Also, you get to see the fireworks display which is breathtaking.
Aquapolis is a great day out too. Go to McDonalds in Salou and get a happy meal. You get a free kids ticket in the bottom of the box. It saves you around 14.5€. La
Pineda beach is one of the lovliest beaches I've ever been to. It's cleaned every night and you can walk out for miles in the sea.
Don't think we'll be back as we've been there, done that now, but if we did, we'd go self catering next time!!!

The resort itself is very good. People are very nice. I did return here but to a different hotel and with a different travel company for a short spring break. Very nice experience.

The resort was exellent with clean beaches and a theme park and a water park quite near our hotel, the streets were clean and well looked after. Overall a good resort to stay in.
