Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Salou was great place for a family holiday, it has something for everyone. Universal Mediteranea is out of this world, rides are great crack and shows are excellant, very impressed. Had 2 young teens and 10 year old with us and they all had an absoultely fantastic holiday in salou. Our apartments were dreadful( Salou Suites), but fact there was so much to day away from complex more than made up for this.Trip to Barcelona was great although would have liked to spend more time there. Am going back to Salou next year (different apartments) and will do all the things we did nt get time to do.

Nice resort, plenty of the usual stuff to do. Good access to other places via local bus service.

The resort is well spread out and on the whole it is clean.
The entertainment is the usual Karaoke, pub quizes etc.
The beach is spotlessly clean although in early August can become over crowded as it's the time for the annual Spanish holiday.
I would probably visit this area again although I would be inclined to stay nearer the town centre.

Salou is a tired resort, having changed little in the seven years since we were last there. Port Aventura is well worth a vist (or 2, 3, 4), though the queues for the rides were so, so long (over one hour for some). The water park next door (Costa Calida) is also really good, though it was closed due to overcrowding on one of the days that we visited.
Beware if you are getting a train to Barcelona. I was robbed (pickpocket) and had to cancel the trip to Barcelona on the day in order to return to resort to report to the police. The reception staff in the apartments were most helpful and accommodating - full marks there.
The beach across from the apartments is long and sandy. It is "rolled" every night and looks so inviting every morning. The only problen with the beach is actually getting into the water - light shingle and a little shelf to negotiate before levelling out. However there is plent of room and therefore it is never crowded.

Salou was excellent, visited in last 2 weeks of July and come the end of the hols it was starting to get very busy.
If your looking for nightlife you really can't go wrong as there are so many bars and clubs open until 4 in the morning.
Beach was clean with plenty of beds and brollies to hire at a reasonable price. Watch out on weekends though, the locals hit the beach but all congregate at the waters edge with their towels.
We found eating out really cheap, with plenty of places offering all different foods to satisfy all tastes. Must recommend The Vines, an English restaurant with great food and really friendly staff. Ate there 10 nights out of the 14 as my 3 year old daughter loved the 'nice ladies'.
Another must is Port Aventura. especially the late show and fireworks at midnight.
Ventured out to Barcelona on the train, an experience to say the least, watch out if you get the last train back to Salou, think the Spanish enjoy seeing how many people can fit into an already full carriage, and then get more in.
Overall Salou was excellent, everything we could have hoped for and more for our first time to mainland Spain.
Will definitely be going again.

This resort is minutes from the Port Aventura Theme Park and a short taxi ride away from the markets. There is lots of shops down the main street to the beach.

I loved everything about the holiday except having to cross the road as it was a bit dodgey because the cars don't have to stop, but other than that it was really good.

The beach was great - plenty of sunbeds to hire cheaply.
I thought some of the resort was run down and dirty - bins too full in the street etc.
The bars that we visited were all of a decent standard and reasonably priced. Shops were ok too.

I found Salou to be an excellent place for a holiday, lots to do for adults and kids.
The beach was great, the theme parks were world class and the locals very friendly and helpful.

Didnt really spend much time at the beach but it was nice. The hotel was a bit out of the way but buses all the time and really cheap. There is a cheap phone in the hotel. the hotel is on a hill but not a very big on right at the bottom of it.
We were able to buy our tickets for theme parks etc form the hotel as a women came there.
There is a little beach about 2mins away. You have to turn left at the bottom of the hill and it is down between hotels.
I would go again.
