Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Beaches

The 2 small beaches at Cap Salou are revolting. They are full of rubbish and despite how good the hotel we stayed in may have been, I wouldn't visit this area again because of the dirty beaches. Not the sort of beach you want a 3 year old playing on.

The resort is home to the best beach in the world, you can sunbathe on the white sand or make the most of the water sports on offer (the banana boats are brilliant!!
There is a really lively night life with loads of bars and clubs to suit everone. I would highly recommend Kiss nightclub for some R&B tunes or Snoopys for a mix of music.
Also a really good tip is go to Piccadilly bar which is on the way to the main strip from the hotel and call in for a pint of vodka and red bull, only 5 euros!!!! Complete bargain and so strong, also the staff here were brilliant (specially Kate and Laura, remember us, the Essex boys? cheers for a top holiday.
This resort is more lively than you might think and has planty of things to do. Cant wait to go back in 2007!

Salou is what it is, Clacton on the Spanish coast but with good weather. It's not particularly pretty with lots of apartment buildings & hotels. However, for a family holiday with lots of english bars/restaurants & karaoke(!)Miles of sandy beaches, adventure and water parks, the typical brit can't go wrong.

Could not find many Spanish restaurants. Most restaurants geared towards the English breakfast and Sunday roast

Salou itself is a beautiful place and we would come back again.

Salou is trying hard to upgrade all its resort the prom is still being refurbished but didnt hinder our views at all.
Few small beaches that are hidden and all first class.
11 Euro for a pedalo with a slide for an hour was well worth it.

I really enjoyed the resort, especially the beach front area . Any mess is just left by tourists!! Plenty to do in this resort & nice quieter towns to visit nearby.

Both Salou and Cambils were nice but in different ways, Salou is lively and vibrant and Cambrils is cosmopolitan and classy, The shops in Cambrils are nicer than Salou but there are very few money change places there, and no English type bars or cafes but loads of lovely tapas bars.
In Salou we loved the Fox and Hounds the service and food was first class and very reasonable, with a good selection of Food.
Porta ventura was amazing even better than Epcot in Florida. I paid £35 euros for a day pass, my son and friend who are disabled paid £18.50 euros each and dad paid £28.50 euros for a senior pass we phoned the day before and booked electric wheelchairs which cost £24 euros each the theme park is wheelchair friendly but the access to rides isnt as good as Florida.
The shops and take aways were fab and reasonably priced it was a wonderful day out
