Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

I thought this resort was fantastic for families and would recomend it to anyone looking for a fun holiday.

The resort was Salou in Costa Dorada, and it was a good sandy beach, with clean sea.
The town was kept relatively clean considering how many people live/stay there. The food and meals in the town were also very good and the night life was the best part of the holiday, wouldn't recommend taking valubles out on a night time though.

Very impressed with Salou. It was the first visit and we would definately go back. It's not somewhere you would go for a all girls/all lads clubby holiday even though there was plenty of bars because most of the types of people there were couples and families.
The beach was lovely, one of the nicest iv'e been to in fact. There is so much to do in salou as well with things like portaventura, aqua park, crazy golf, amuzements, restaurants, bars, clubs etc.
We like salou so much we are planning our next visit!!!

The only good things I can really say about Salou is that it has fantastic beaches and seemed quite clean and tidy. Whether I would be saying the same thing had I visited in the middle of the peak season is another matter! The train station is ideal if you fancy a day in Barcelona (I would definately recommend!). Return fare is €10.80 and the journey takes about 1hr 15mins. Get off at Barcelona-Sants station and catch the subway metro (€2.10 i think) to the main areas.
The range of restaurants is appauling! Unless you like sticking to fast food joints and British based pubs serving the standard pie and chips or whatever. There aren't any decent shops, most sell the usual tacky rubbish that I can't believe anyone actually buys. Half the people there are over 80 and the other half are chav families, so i suppose Salou actually caters to their needs pretty well actually.
PortAventura - we visited on a Sunday, big mistake as it was packed. I have mixed feelings about PortAventura, it has some fantastic rides however there isn't actually that much there.... lots of shops, lakes and scenery however not that many rollercoasters and rides (not even half of whats in Alton Towers) so I felt a bit disappointed.

I would visit Cap Salou again - its ideal for a quiet break with 2 young children. There's a hole in the wall and definitely recommend the Paddock for good grub and friendly staff...

Port Aventura was excellent also the Costa Caribe waterpark.
We spent most of our time here as I found our hotel was a good 15min walk from the beach and centre.
Barcelona and the fountains were a great night out.

The resort of Salou is great for families and the beach is spotless and safe with playparks for kids placed along beach . There is a mcdonalds & burger king down at the beach front incase you have kids who are fussy eaters so no one will go hungry. Great promenade to walk along takes about 1 -1/2 hours to walk it good to get your little one asleep whilst you take in seaview or scourer the shops. You can hire bikes and cycle along promenade.
