Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Beaches

Nice clean resort, plenty of space and very modern looking. It is very disabled freindly which really makes a nice change, every thing nice and flat and not very high kerbs.
The beach was wonderful, a pleasure to go on you could even have a massage whilest sunbathing!!! Although lots of people on the beach it wasn't noisy.
Now being a fussy person about going to a public loo on the beach this was something else. I have never been to such a clean one before and there were no awful smells.
Not alot of entertainment in the resort but maybe that was because it was still quite early being May.
Again? yes I will certainly visit again and not before to long I hope.

The only reason I would not visit Salou again, is because I found it a bit on the big side and more like being in Britain but with sunshine, British Bars every where, I quite like Cap Salou and La Pinda though, this must come with old age.

Salou/Cap Salou has has everything to offer young kids/teenagers/young lads into nightlife & young families.
In my younger years Salou was visited on a number of occasions so I could get plenty of wine/women & song. Thankfully I have grown up now and have a young family of my own now. Now I fell Cap Salou has more to offer my family and I. It is far away enough from the main part of Salou so I don't bump into the type of bloke I was in my early twenties, however near enough that I can visit the beach, go shopping, go to Port Adventura or the Water park etc. Salou/Cap Salou has loads to offer. Yes it does have the tacky Spanish seaside resort, however If you look deeper it is a lovely place.

Salou overall is a nice place - nothing on benidorm though! I would go back there but i would prefer somewhere else!
The theme park was excellent, Dragon Khan was well worth the money we paid for tickets. Without 14 day passes to here we would have been board.
The water park (not the Universall Studios one) was not great - the Dolphin show was ok but the park was a little dated! the only good thing about it was most of the slides were padded not plactic and were very comfortable.
Salou beach is nice - clean and the sea is also!
I would recommend salou as a family holiday - but make sure you plan entertainment and find a good Hotel as mine was awfull (Hotel Belvedere)

Cap Salou is a quieter resort, but suited us fine. There were lots of small sandy bays within easy walking distance, and most of the beaches have life-guard, snack, shower and toilet facilities. You just have to watch where you're walking, as the rules regarding dog-fouling don't tend to be very strict.
We ate out most evenings, and found The Paddocks became a favourite, especially with the kids.
We used the local bus service to travel to Salou, La Pineda (Aquapolis waterpark is worth a visit) and Barcelona.
We also walked to La Pineda about 10 minutes away and Salou which was about 20 minutes walk.

There are plenty of bars resturants shops ect.
The beach is lovely and clean there is Port Adventura a big park with rides and shows. There is an aquapark with dolphins.
You can jump on a bus to go to the different markets and you have to visit bonavista it is the biggest market of them all it is on a Sunday but go with the local transport as the tours only give you 2 hours and you need longer than that.

Cap Salou is a lovely area about 2km from Salou itself. The beaches are all sandy and level, excellent for children. Access to some of the smaller beaches is via steps but the main beaches is flat and ideal for buggies or the less mobile. There are several pubs, restaurants and clubs etc in Cap Salou but for livier entertainment Salou Town centre is a short bus or taxi ride away. The buses are frequent and clean and the taxis are readily available on ranks or by phone.
If we hadn't been to Salou three times already would definately go again!!
