Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Not all places were open even though it was the weekend before easter.
Recommend Double Dutch bar run by a really friendly and welcoming dutch couple. Located behind Danny Boys.
Highly Recommend House of Illusion magic show but go to later show where you don't get the horrible excuse for a meal.
Avoid at all costs Masala Indian Restaurant. The service was beyond diabolical and the food when it eventually came was worse.

Cannot say a lot about resort entertainment and beach because of the time of year, but it all looked good.

Salou quite clean.
On the whole, resort itself was too young and lively for us, although guess we would have loved it when we were 20, or if we still had young children. La Pineda, about 3 miles away, is quieter. At least the end closest to Salou is.
Beach good. Some good eating establishments along the front.
Tarragona a shortish bus ride and an interesting and walkable city. Lots of surprising Roman remains.
Barcelona also easy and cheap to get to by bus or train. Don't go on the tourist bus in the city. It's the worst we've ever been on. There are three different circuits - don't know if we chose the most boring. We went on good Friday and were just stuck at loads of traffic lights. Don't know what it would have been like on a work day. The commentary was also seriously lacking. We'd had enough after about an hour and got off. A complete waste of money.
Get a map from tourist information at the train station. Know where you want to go and use the underground. The map is on the map they give you an tourist information. Don't forget that it's schematic, though, so check the locations of the stations on the main map as well as the underground map.

Salou is a over commercialised town with lots of the apartments needing a good clean but the beach and promenade were lovely.
The promenade is having a facelift with paving being replaced. The beach is clean and safe and it had lots of lovely playareas for the children.
We went Easter Weekend and Salou was full of Spainish families so had a really nice cultural feel to the place but I don't know what it would be like in August.

Tiny resort but this suited us as a family with youngsters.
Nothing much to do in Cap Salou but taxis to the centre were cheap and always available. the beach was tiny but again this suited us, went in April but think it would be very overcrowded if we went peak season.
The kids aged 7 and 8 loved it but I think families with kids that were older would struggle.
A nice place if you want a quiet chilled holiday.

Very clean and plenty of nice bars and ice cream parlours. The harbour area is much quieter and away from the gift shops and bars etc. This area is nice for families and has much quieter beach areas also.Good for strolling along the promenade and people watching!

Salou had some great sites and beaches.
I would recomend getting the Train Bus to take you around the town, it doesn't go fast but goes on the beaches routes.
Cap salou has some nice beaches, you just need to go looking for them. La Pinda was down the road and has lots to do.
We had Fab hotel entertainment, and the display at Portaventure at Midnight was excellent

Didn't like the place much; lots of people filled the beach, the place was a little tacky and dirty. Not somewhere I would revisit. Quite a shock when we've been to Portugal which in comparison I thought was beautiful. Salou reminded me of a concrete city.

The only part we liked about Salou itself was the beach - clean, golden sand etc. Away from the beach front it is very drab. We did vist a little fishing port one day (can't remember the name) but even that wasn't very nice. So if sunbathing is all you are interested in, you will be fine! Tried a few restaurants, food okay but quite pricey. Can't comment on nightlife as we had two little children with us.

The area of Cap Salou is a small quiet resort, but a 10 minute bus ride takes you into the main resort of Salou if you want a bit more buzz. There are a couple of lovely small beaches in Cap Salou where you can just lie and sunbathe and listen to the waves. There is a lovely small beach at Platja Llarga where you have fantastic views of the sea and coastline. The entertainment in Cap Salou is low key with just a few bars and restaurants dotted around. We had great weather the entire week we visited the area and would certainly visit it again.
