Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

We found the resort to be in the main clean although the drains smell a bit, it is certainly not full of doggy doo doo as some have suggested, the toilets are monitored regularly and the town centre is very clean.
Now, resort entertainment wasn't great however, we did find a lovely friendly little 'pub' called The Butler where you get a fantastic welcome with a wide variety of beers served in a clean atmosphere, they sell everything from Worthington creamflow to Leffe Blond and Magners cider, Rosies Return was nice while we were drinking but when wanting the loo if just wandering I came in from verbal abuse from what I think was Rosie's partner although Rosie herself was a very friendly person. The Lazy Wave do a nice meal but the atmosphere is a bit noisy, The Robin Hood is a great place to enjoy a drink during the day but is transformed to yet another karaoke bar at night, we had a meal at the Californian restaurant but wasn't impressed the least said the better. I would say that if you like karaoke this must be the capital everyone seems to do it, me, I like to enjoy a live show but didn't find any, overall we didn't find the entertainment in Salou that great and there is certainly nothing there apart from Port Aventura for the youngsters, and we didn't find a single Spanish bar, all the bars and restaurants seem to want to segregate people from different countries as opposed to mixing cultures.
The beach is clean, not to busy, plenty of public loos, and plenty going on.
The resort is a shoppers haven, Salou consists of hundreds of shops although personally I found the shops rather expensive compared to other resorts, the shops are like a local market we went to buy our grandson a Barcelona shirt we were quoted 45 euros and when we said no after a lot of haggling we were finally offered it for 18 euros, we walked away as if that was the price why try to extort money from holiday makers initially, we bought him one from the shop three doors away for a fair original price.
Salou is an extremely busy place with a lot of traffic, if you want a relaxing holiday don't go to Salou, if you want a holiday where you can either lounge on the beach or shop till you drop then Salou is the place for you.
I hope you all find this report helpful as I have tried to be totally unbias and fair.

Resort clean in some areas and like a waste disposal unit in others, especially on the main street in and around Red Lion Pub area. Looks like they have knocked down a complex and now everyone uses it as the local dump.
Entertainment for every age group and plenty of it!!!
We went on Capellans beach mostly very clean apart from the odd fag end. Main beach very clean also. This is our second visit here in the last 12 months but will be leaving it alone now until they start to tidy up a bit.
I know it is the last 3 weeks of the season but looks like it is in need of a facelift in some areas. Met some good lads who work in the Rovers Return especially jeff who comes from Burnley.
Salou is a typical British resort on the Blackpool theme(with sun). On the whole we had a very enjoyable holiday.

We were in the quiet Spanish part and it was lovely. We were near to the train station which we used a few times to go to Tarragona and Barcelona, because it was cheaper and you had no time limits as with organized trips. There was about a 15 minutes walk to the other end of town, where there were English pubs for meals and a lot more shops.

The resort was very clean, much better than Salou.
The beach was lovely and clean, but no water sports.
The bus is cheap and runs often.

Cap de Salou was an ok place to stay in,but focussed more I think on hill climbers, not a good place for the elderly, or disabled.
The beach was excellent, one of the best beaches Ive been on. Water was very clear. There wasn't much to do in the resort for young people, more for kids and families. I wouldn't stay in Cap de Salou again, but would consider staying in Salou, as this looked like it had more things to do for our age.
Went to the waterpark, and saw the seals and dolphins show. Good day out.

The resort was excellent it was clean, friendly and the staff were great. Entertainment could have been on earlier than it was as it did not start till 11pm and seemed late for younger children. The beach was good to but if needed you could have gone to the larger beach which was not far at all. Definately will be returning next year we all had a brilliant time and did not want to come home.
