Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

La pineda is a quiet place so if you want a lively clubbing holiday i would not recommend it but if your looking for a relaxing holiday then you should definitely go. There are a few shops and bars along the front and the waterpark is close by. Anybody travelling here must go to Port Aventura theme park!!!!!

Salou is a lovely place. It's very clean and well presented, and easy to find your way around.
It's got a good variety of shops, and supermarkets, although most are only selling the same old tourist tat. The restaurants are in the main all producing the same type of food, mainly to cater for the huge British population, although there are a few that do more traditional Spanish food.
The local public transport is very good, with buses running frequently to all areas, and using the railway is also pretty straightforward. Taxis are a little thin on the ground compared to most other places I've visited and run on a meter systedm, so you know how much you should be paying. They're also pretty reasonable.
The beach is lovely. It's set off by the attractive pedestrain promenade which runs the whole length and consists of soft sand. It was a little crowded, but this didn't bother us. It's well organised in terms of having distinct areas for swimming and water sports, so in that respect it's safe. The water is lovely and warm - much warmer than the hotel pools, we found. The only trouble is that while the showers were highly visible, the toilets weren't and I suspect the water has things in it that you're better off not thinking about. We came out of the sea at one point and there was a huge poo waiting for us!
We went up to Port Aventura a couple of times. The theme park is good but the water park next door was a bit of a rip off - really crowded, and you had to pay for everything inside on top of the price of admission, even the sun loungers, except to swim. The pool itself had a nasty rough concrete bottom which was like sandpaper. The wave machine was good fun, especially if you had an inflatable to sit in.
This was my first trip to Spain and I have to say I did find it all a bit too much "Brits Abroad" for me. That said, we did have a nice time and I would consider going again.

Salou is a great resort for all ages.
The beach promenade is clean and very well kept. During the day there is loads to do,eg. portaventura theme park, go karting, jeep safari and plenty more.
The beach is always packed with plenty of people and there are watersoprts. At night the shops stay open quite late ( about 11pm ) and the main shopping area is well lit up.
Salou at night can be quite lively and all the clubs are situated together so if you are looking for something a bit more relaxed there are plenty of nice bars with a good atmosphere away from all the hustle and bustle.

The streets and beach are very cleaned both being cleaned on a daily basis the bins were emptied daily.
It's fairly quiet around the apartments but if you want a livlier scene Salou is just a sort walk up the road with plenty of shops, restaurants and clubs open till very late.
Port Aventura is great and you can get a three day pass for it and the water park next door included. Aquapolis is a very short ride away in la pineda and is a great water park with slides and dolphin and seal shows and you can swim with the seals for about 60 euros. It was a great value park and the kids loved it and when we were there you got free kids tickets in your Mcdonalds happy meal boxes so it was even cheaper lol.
Its a great place whatever your looking for, we will definitely be visiting again.

You are about ten minutes from the town centre, where there is a huge beach with stuff that you can rent for water sports.
There is a lot of shopping there but it is not easy to get clothes because the Spanish sizes in most shops range from about a size 6 to 10 if you are not in that range then it is not easy to shop.
There are loads of bars and restarunts all over the place and they are all very friendly and most of them are owned or run by British people, they all have major sporting events on and most of them have entertainment on every night.
Just behind the hotel there is a smaller beach which is very nice however it is spoiled by rubbish mostly butt-ends all over the place.
Driving here is at a rather different standard than the uk, on round abouts people do what they want and they all think that they are Colin Macrae.
All in all this is a very nice area to visit, if you have your own transport there are endless places to go I would come back to this area again.
