Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Salou is not the cleanest of places if you are fussy, with large bins in streets which were always full and smelly.
There was also a smell of sewers in some areas but we put it down to the heat and dryness. Everyone here throws cigarette butts everywhere.
We went to different places for entertainment and it was ok with mostly quizzes and bingo and some fun for kids.
It was hard to find a clean toilet in any restaurant and hardly any had soap. Port Aventura and the water parks are definitely the highlight of the holiday and are easily accessible.
The main beach is beautiful with kids play areas, sheltered areas and showers and a gorgeous promenade. We would go to Salou again but stay in a different area.

We were very happy with the lovely clean beach and even on busy days there were plenty of sun loungers and space. The sea was warmer than our hotel pool. We were lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic firework display which left us speachless.
Lots of eating places to choose from and all catered for the children.
A walk along the seafront during the day and night is a must. We would like to visit Salou again.

Cap Salou has a couple of small coves which are ok and a lot less busy than salou`s beach which is very very busy. For pubs and clubs there is not a great deal in Cap. You have the Crows Nest, didn`t go there so cant comment, The Clansman, was ok but never seemed to get very busy and only had entertainment on twice a week, the local tap house which is where all the kids games and trampolines and pool tables are, they had entertainment here but I did not think it was great. For food you had Smugglers which was good but twice we were there we waited over 30 mins for our food after ordering, The Paddock was also good and quicker, but Smugglers was better. In salou itself you had a large choice for food and some are more expensive so look around for what suits you. Places like chaplins and christys all the entertainment never started till 9.30pm, how do you keep kids happy till then withoput spending a fortune on games, also a lot of the places are off the main street and you do need to do a wee bit of walking about to locate them all. Port Aventura is a must, but if you can make it a two day visit to get the full benefit of it, but can the wallet handle two days, the red lion is not doing the vouchers this year as previous. The weather was not the greatest, we were told we had just missed four days of cloud and thunderstorms when we arrived and in the middle of our holiday it happened again, and having checked the weather for salou today they are getting it again. A girl I spoke to actually said this has been the driest august in 40 years for salou, well it will be another forty before I go back. All in we had a good holiday as it is what you make it but it certainly was not what I was hoping for and I felt it was a letdown in alot of ways, and if anyone reading this likes guinness or magners like myself then don`t fall off your barstool when the ask four euros for thr guinness and 5 for the magners. Yes it is a bit of an expensive place as well.

Although La Pineda is very clean and has a lovely beach there is very little in it apart from a aquaparc and some local shops etc. there is very little if anything there to entertain you if you fancy a night out from hotel.

Lovely beaches. Nice bars and restaurants. We found the place very reasonable price -wise. Would go to Salou again.

Salou was very Spainish, beautiful, elegant and the beachfront area was very clean and well kept.
The beach was excellent and the services provided were not overpriced. The sand was clean and virtually free from rubbish.
Again I have to moan about the smoking, fag ends everywhere you went.
We went to Port Aventura and Costa Caribe, both excellent, like any theme park, they got very busy and it was August, we went early the first day to Port Aventura and we got on all the rides we wanted, it got very busy in the afternoon and the heat didn't help. No worse than Florida, Chessington, Thorpe Park and certainly better than Alton Towers!
A point worth mentioning is the great value the taxi's are, it cost us between 6Euro and 8Euro for a 2-3 mile trip for 4 from our hotel to Port Aventura, cheaper than the bus.
We looked at several menus whist out walking in resort and we noticed that the prices seemed a bit dear, I don't think you could go to Salou on a budget if you were self catering.
On the whole Salou was lovely, a quick ride from the airport, though we never heard any air traffic noise and despite the inclement weather for August (4 thunderstorms) we enjoyed the resort.

I think Salou is one of the most dirtyist places in Spain, the beach was full of rubbish and the sea, was no better than the sea in Blackpool. The pavements were all broken and narrow and the place was just to busy, and people just pushed passed with no regard to anyone else. If you have a buggy, you better know who to drive it as no one cares that you have one.
